  • Conversations With My Conscience - Episode 8
The premise of this podcast is that I am having a conversation with my conscience. That is the male voice you hear; my father.
We tackle all things life by going through all the lessons I’ve learned with him as my mentor. The ups, the downs, the pain, and the joy. All of it.
My conscience, my ego and myself. This is it.
With God at the centre of it all.
    Enjoy 🤍

This conversation hit really hard. I'm so glad I learned from my past mistakes; no more compromising.
I have now set my boundaries and will be standing by them. I love this podcast Layla, God bless.

I binged all of your content when I found your account, up to the video before this one - you and your guest-speakers (and your father) have consistently blazed through things that I was already thinking about a lot at that time, regarding topics in general, and I appreciate the fluidity; I appreciate that you all respect eachother, truly, and you also seem to pay this same respect to your prospective audience members.
Palestine has been all over my brain since January this year (when I first found out about everything, honestly) and after reverting to Islam in March I have been trying hard to split my attentions between my functional lifestyle (like work, and duties, and how I move around it all) and my desired life as a good Muslim... Bismillah... I keep thinking, "It's hard," but I agree with the people who hear that and say, "No, your goals (or something) are not properly set with your faith." - I appreciate everything in this religion more than I could ever express, and I wish I was born into it....
I pray Allâh continues to keep you all in your places, so far as spreading His influences. You all articulate through everything so well! Alhamdulillah. 😇
I agree with your father about not trying to change a man.... And I agree with your response; I would like to expand a bit more on your input of the compromise to say that doing that is honestly even an insult to yourself, and a lack of self respect.... No one but Allâh should ever be 'allowed'(? Hard to find a word that applies in contrasting people to Allâh) to cause harm to us by intention; no one but Allâh is Al-Rahman.....so, why would ANY of us, man or woman, willingly accept any abuse? We should never.
"Do harm to thyself, do harm to thyself, my soul; but thou wilt no longer have the opportunity of honouring thyself."
    - Marcus Aurelius

She is the kind of woman that men are fearful of. An intelligent one. Love this

Why would you say men are fearful of this kind of woman?

I would also say, your father is very wise and you should allow him to get his thoughts out more without interrupting. Great show though!

I came across your account by chance while looking for podcasts to help me prepare for the TOEFL exam. I didn’t expect to like what you had to say because I usually don’t enjoy listening to women without Hajab lecture me about my religion However, I started loving your videos and now I listen to them every day.

i've said this before as well, but can you guys increase the volume of your father's mic? it'll help me in listening to these podcasts so much as i wouldn't have to adjust volume multiple times. thank you and i love your videos :)

So we actually took this into consideration when filming, and my editor came back saying my dad’s mic is much louder than mine this time 😭😂
Back to the lab it is 🤓

What did he mean in 7:33 when he said "Sometimes loving a woman means to stand the ground and protect her from her own entitlement"?
