@@coolradio123 sorry for the late response. Any one can replace it. But you either have to go to the dealer to reprogram it after or call someone with proper scan tool to program it to the vehicle and keys. I diagnosed the bad and installed the new module. But I didn’t do the programming
I’m having the same issue, I was just wondering if that module controls other thing besides the keys? I believe mine got wet too and other systems are faulty like the TPMS for example.
@@germanlopez4040 it was a while ago I did research on this to figure out it was bad. I forget if the Tpms system is controlled by the rf module as well. Good chance it is. I’ll see if I can look into it and confirm for you 👍🏽
Hi yes this resolved the issue. And I’m not the one who did the key reprogramming so I’m not to sure how it was done exactly sorry. Locksmith came out and took care of it.
Any of those newer rams need a special scan tool and either a subscription to AutoAuth ($50 a year) or the 12-8 adapter cable that goes to the Secure Gateway Module. I do a lot of Ram, so I have the subscription and use the autel im508. It’s pretty easy. Without the subscription or cable, you can’t do anything bi directional and are limited to reading codes.
Would you mind sharing the mopar # for the RF hub?
I found a kit with the module and two keys already programmed to the module. Does the new module still need programming?
@@danielben6960 sounds like you shouldn’t need any programming. Seems like it’s ready to go plug and play. Share the link where you got it.

Are you able to fix this issue? I thought only the dealer was able to replace the RF module due to some proprietary programming thing they do.

Did changing the module and reprogramming keys fix this ??
@@Cloudfights yes
I have a 2016 ram And the vehicle does not start but it gives me a fault code which is B1a28 skim miss, do you think I should replace the module?
@@ramirezayalabenjamin6050 open up the module and visually inspect for water damage
Anyone know if I put a new module I’m going to be able to start the truck without programming?
@@laureanolarraga898 nope definitely not going to start up. Keys needs to be programmed to new module.
Same thing happened to my 2022 Ram Bighorn
Yeah it’s pretty common. I believe some models have a recall to install a water barrier over the module.
Sad a major corporation can’t figure out how to stop water from coming in back window for years

How do you unplug everything i cant unplug the wire going into the red
@@Cloudfights sorry for the late response I’m pretty I used a pick most likely been a while
You can get alphaobd its 49.99 and is chrysler specific and it does alot from programing keys to all the other modules .
That’s great to know thanks! 🙏
I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THE SAME ORIGINAL KEYS WORK
Original keys will work but they need to be reprogrammed to the new module.
@VCsMOBILEMECHANIC did you reprogram your keys yourself?
HI IF YOU HAD SUCCESS WITH THE 2019 RAM IF THEY WERE ABLE TO REPROGRAM THE ORIGINAL KEYS
Sorry for the late reply I didn’t get the notification. Yes original keys can be reprogrammed to the new module.
Hey did this resolve and how did you get the key programmed through the dealer or maxis 4.0, Zeus, etc thanks, same issue here

@@germangenzelis6276 I believe they had a recall for this issue. To reseal the area the module is located in.

Just put a plastic garbage on it and never had another problem
Not a bad idea at all. But I believe the dealer has a recall to properly reseal the area.
My ram same thing. $800 later.
did you go through the dealer for $800 or a 3rd party. Im having the same issue right now
Mine was $1200 cause of the labor Rate at $250/hr
