- We're testing the NEW Ninja Combi steam oven to see what it really can do! I'm maxing out its capabilities by cooking a full family dinner of roasted chicken thighs, crispy potatoes, and green beans all at the same time. I'll demonstrate the sear/sauté feature as well as the combi cook feature.
After dinner comes dessert, and I'm steam baking a DELICIOUS apple upside-down cake with the combi bake feature.

SEASONED SALT RECIPE
1/4 cup kosher salt
1/4 cup paprika
2 tablespoons lemon pepper
2 tablespoons granulated garlic
1 tablespoon granulated onion
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper more or less to taste OPTIONAL

I bought one a couple of weeks ago. We use it everyday. I was able to get rid of my air fryer, toaster oven, and rice cooker. I love it!

Me too. I'm getting rid of everything else and use combi for everything. I cooked rice in mine yesterday with collard greens....omg

Thanks for keeping the sound on so I could hear the noise levels of the oven and beeps. I was pleasantly surprised to not hear any beeps when programming the functions, pushing the buttons, opening the door. just hear the beep on the start and once more on the finish. Looks like a brilliant new cooking appliance. Please keep making more videos!!
Could you please show some recipes in the combi that are NOT combo meals, like just using the top rack to make salmon and potatoes? I am confused about how to use the basic functionality because it's so complex

Looks amazing, one of my favorite weeknight meals combos. So the chicken thighs fully cooked in 15 minutes?! That's crazy!
The Combi steams for about 15 minutes before it starts to Roast so the cooking time is closer to 30 minutes.

Love your product reviews and demos. They have absolutely aided my choice of Ninja products (since so many do the same thing). I've just bought the Combi SFP 701 but also the Dutch Oven w/glass lid. I really like the ability to steam veg/starch and steam cook/air fry protein all in the same appliance and have them done at the same time. I have the XL double bin Air Fryer and love it for chicken qtrs/halves but find the bins a bit small for a whole bird. I'm thinking the Combi ought to be able to handle air frying chicken just fine.
Please put out a cookbook for the combi ultra steam airfryer. Also shoeing how much liquids for making half recipies like for 2 people instead of a big box of pasta. Need to be able to cut many recipies in half. Also by steaming the oven for 10 minutes, the cleanup is wonderful and looks like a new oven each day...soooo easy. Thank you Ninja!!!

That fridge is everything.
I been reading the manual and finding the Speedi and Combi are different animals. Speedi would steam for 20 minutes before starting crisping but Combi reads after coming to appropriate steam level starts crisping for set time. Doesn't have a default streaming fixed time like Speedi. Only Combi baking says 20 minutes steaming then starts bake fuction for set time. One definitely doesn't transfer to the other, each has a learning curve so have to rethink uses.

Great machine but all that steam does cause a rather nasty smell when mixing with the juices from the food. Have to keep it clean for sure and it seems like a lot of work but I do enjoy the Combi
I think it's important to make sure the Combi gets dry after cooking. It can definitely retain moisture
I'm waiting for them to come out with a Ninja that walks, speaks, take voice commands and cook my food. Until then, my combi will replace all my cooking devices, boyfriends, and pets. Just kidding not pets.

I have the ninja speedi and love it. But wish I knew about the combi before purchasing. Although very similar the combi top tray makes it a clear winner between the two. Dinner looks great! I would love to see a dressing recipe in the combi!

Thank you for all of your great insight, it really encouraged me to buy the Combi. One thing - I ended up making the apple upside down cake twice and both times it absolutely did not come out. The first time I ended up using lactose-free sugar-free Greek yogurt, so I thought that was the problem and why it didn’t come out. I tried it again today using regular Greek yogurt, everything exactly as you have it listed, and it did not come out at all. When I took it out of the Combi, it looked great. I let it sit on the counter and it completely deflated. When I flipped it, it came out perfectly from the pan, but the texture was more like a British pudding versus a dense cake. Thin and gloopy. Any ideas?

A question about the Combi, do you prefer this or the Ninja Double/Single Oven? There are quite a bit of overlap in functionality and all of them are technically ovens as far as I understood? Would be nice to not have to get both :D But maybe they fill different functions and getting both is still a good thing?

Looks great...it's good to see some real meals cooked. I read somewhere that once the food is cooked you take the pans out and it will go into a 'dry' mode to dry up all the steam, have you found this happening? Thanks!

How is it to clean since it’s always sappy wet in the bottom and then you have all that air fry and grease splatter everywhere what’s going on with the cleaning of that thing?
I haven’t heard a soul talk about cleaning it. Anyone I want to know that before I look to seriously at it.
I have their skinny stand up toaster oven and the Bottom come off However it’s definitely not easily to clean the top areas.
So I have not cooked anything uncovered because of that. I have a ninja air fryer I will use for the meat. It’s easy cleaned.

It's does an average job on toasted bread. I'm not sure about pop tarts, I haven't tried that
I just cooked a 5.5 pound chicken on the combi and i did the combi crisp, 400 degrees for 35 minutes and it was perfect!!!

It appears the top of the Ninja Combi diverts the heat & steam from blowing upwards. Can it be used while under the kitchen counter?

@@sweetsavant it’s not necessary. I will contact Ninja myself. That said, I believe your video answered my question. I assumed the sheet metal cover on top acted as a diverter to reduce/redirect the steam. However, after closely watching you use the Combi I observed more steam than I expected. Thanks for the amazing content!

Hi! If you want a steam oven that is also an air fryer oven, then the Ninja Combi is better.
If you just want an air fryer, then you should get one of Ninja's air fryers.

Hello! I haven't tried it myself but I don't think cooking 2 pizzas at the same time in the Ninja Combi.
If you had 2 baking trays, I think the top tray would block the bottom tray too much to get a good result without switching the trays.

I second this request with brownies. I been baking for ages and burned my brownies for the first time ever. I was so disappointed. My cookies also started overcooking when I followed the recipe I always use. I use to bake in my conventional oven np until it broke and I replaced it with this so I’m really wondering if I messed up and should have bought the foodie 😢 would love some help with baking desserts!

Yes you can!
1) What are the non-stick surfaces made from? Ninja customer service is abysmal. No one could tell me with any degree of certainty if it's ceramic, Teflon, PFAS, PFOA, or PTFE.
2) As others have asked, if you had to choose one toaster oven, would you choose the Ninja Combi or one of the Ninja smart ovens (i.e. DT251 or DCT451) and why?
Hello. I found this information on Ninja Kitchens FAQ section for the Ninja Combi
"The Combi Pan and Crisper Tray are made of aluminum with a nonstick nano ceramic coating that is FDA-approved and food safe. This coating is also PTFE and PFOA-free.
The Bake Tray has an enamel coating and is not non-stick."

For my needs the Ninja SP301 extended height air fryer oven has been the best for my family but I believe it has been discontinued.

@@sweetsavant Thank you, I wish more manufacturers would take this approach rather than using some variation of Teflon. If you’ve seen the movie, Dark Waters, you’ll understand my concern. It would have been nice if Ninja opted for solid ceramic like my xtrema skillet but that would probably raise the price beyond what most people are willing to pay.

i bought a ninja some time ago but I think it might be a fake/clone. I bought it from some site and it was cheaper than the same model I bought from walmart... I mean are there fake copies of ninja products?

Ninja makes all these cookers, but they all seem to be lesser in capabilities to the smart xl pressure cooker/steam fryer with smart lid. Why anyone purchase this or the previous speedy rapid cooker over the smart xl pressure cooker/steam fryer with smart lid.
I think Ninja listens to consumer feedback to make products that will satisfy a wide variety of customers. I could definitely see people making use of a steam oven and not necessarily wanting a pressure cooker.

It can be difficult ti fund recipes beyond those provided in the cookbook that comes with the appliance.
