Fun fact: In the original version of Au Revoir, the violin sound is actually made by a guitar. The guitarist distorted his guitar to make it sound like a violin.
I don't think "distorted" is quite the right word here. Distortion is a specific effect that is heavily used to create the guitar tone most commonly found in rock and metal. I don't know for sure if a guitar was used to create the string sounds on Au Revoir, but if so the guitar was most likely used as a midi controller. There is no effect that can be applied to an electric guitar directly that will produce the sound of a violin, but there are guitars that can be connected to a MIDI interface. Then you can make it sound like pretty much anything.
@@riskybitness I think I made a mistake. Someone pointed out to me that in the album cover this song was in, there were violinists credited in the song, but in the live performance of the song, the guitarist really used his guitar to make it sound like a violin.
This is a miss information. They used actual violins in the recording. But for lives, Kozi used Roland guitar synthesizer (probably Roland GR-33) which can emulate violin sounds. It's nothing about distortion pedal.
You are by far my favorite violinist in the entire world sir. I’m currently 12 and in my school’s orchestra. I’ve played the violin for less than a year and have been told what I’m doing is not enough or doesn’t reach the average standards for a violinist. But luckily, your videos inspire me to keep pushing through and to get better at what I do. Your videos encourage me to do better in my skills so that one day, I too can play just as amazing as you. By the way, I love this cover so much. Malice Mizer is my absolute favorite and Au Revoir is my favorite song ever. Never stop spreading your amazing talent ❤
Hey, just keep practicing and experimenting. There is no single path to artistry. If you pick up the instrument every day for 30+ min on your own volition, you will do well over time. Have a good night, don't let them get you down!
