Those forest fires sounds so scary.. As a Scandinavian its total bonkers to think about some people are just living with forest fires, tornadoes, earthquakes, and tsunamis... Is so scary to hear about whenever a natural disaster occurs like that :s We have.. cold winters.. and like so much rain our cellars get like wet if you're unlucky, but that's kinda it?

It's a very scary and sad time to live in Alberta right now - best thoughts for everyone throughout the entire province, especially those in/around Jasper and Fort Mac. BUT ON A LIGHTER NOTE, we absolutely love the DIY window screen for the catio. It's the small things that can be a tiny piece of happy in all the dark!
with getting less fires because you had more rain: rain can sometimes make fires more likely and worse, basically foliage = fuel and rain helps that fuel grow more, if you have a really hot dry period after a ton of rain youve basically got a whole bunch of extra fuel thats been dried out nice and crispy waiting for the fire to come along (im from a pretty fire prone part of australia haha) it's fine when the fuel doesnt have a chance to dry out but with how hot it sounds like it is over there right now itd dry out a decent chunk of it fairly quickly its why controlled burns can help reduce the fire risks because you're just consuming the fuel before an uncontrolled fire can get to it best of luck with the fires and please make sure to have a plan in place in case something unfortunate does happen and you need to evacuate - houses can be rebuilt, people and pets cannot and bushfire evacuation plans are so so crucial
Maybe sometime you'll come across one of those magnet screens at a yard sale and you can improve your prototype kitty door. I think it's great! I love how you've so carefully decorated your warehouse while keeping it functional so you can work in a nice space that doesn't feel industrial
My husband works in Canmore at a dealership, they have been keeping very close watch of fires. They spent a lot of the day yesterday taking newly purchased cars scheduled for delivery to customer, to the car wash because of the ash all over the vehicles. There have been a few hotspots detected near there but so far no concerning fires. Every year the fires get worse, in the past I don't think many were concerned about wildfires when moving to these mountain towns. I hope everyone who has had to be evacuated is safe and can find the help they need to get back on their feet. I know it takes time for relief funds and such to kick in. My heart breaks for those who lost everything. 70% of Jasper (town) is just gone, such a popular tourist destination, and so sad to see it gone

i do my own gel x. i meant to say this on a different vlog, but the ohora easy peel remover essentially pops off my gel with zero damage. just add a few drops, wait a bit, pop them off with a cuticle triangle thing. the drops are made for those semi cured things, but i use them to remove gel x, so im sure itll work for your polish on your natural nails too.
for future construction projects, i highly recommend using wood glue and clamps before you use any fasteners! its surprisingly strong stuff and will keep things nice and stable while you're nailing/stapling/screwing things! its only a little extra time but so worth it!
Jasper is gone. It's been almost completely burnt down. We are getting ash and soot here in NE Calgary. My hubby is one of the CAF members thats up there helping fight and its really bad. It's Fort Mac all over again.
Baylee Jae if you think you need a slightly heavier piece where the popsicle sticks are, try a cut down to fit paint stirrer stick. And if anyone else wants to use your idea, they could consider a couple of wooden photo frames, with the screen sandwiched between the frames. Thank you for sharing, love the kitties.

We've had some bad bushfires here in Australia one end on 2019 early 2020 we lost our beautiful female doggo in feb 2020 she was 11, the bushfires were still pre bad but they were getting them under control, and damn that's not good about that death from the housefire, atleast everyone else and doggos are ok it's still sad no matter who it is how old they are, male or female it's always sad regardless... One thing I will suggest considering it's summer for you guys, invest in a irrigation system for around the outside of the house so if there's and bush fires near you you have someting that can somewhat protect your home never hurts to have some sort of protection for during summer...
the duckie painting.... have you thought about getting a medium which makes oil paint dry faster? I think it's liquin or something like it.... Makes it dry within a day....
The firefighters would have also been venting the roof to help fight the fire. And praying for the family who lost their loved one and the firefighters to heal.
Amazon is AWFUL now! I've been having sooo many issues with shipments, moving all around, then getting delayed for days, they just started switching to having their own person delivery cars instead of using USPS, UPS or Fedex, and its just throwing everything for a loop! We're going to be canceling our prime because of this nonsense!

For the notebook shelves, I’d put an extra leg in the middle of the bottom shelf. Just for some extra support.

For the kitty door you can rub linseed oil onto the wood and that would give it a nice finish and protect it from weathering
