Skoda want a good smacking for putting these bulbs in such a rubbish place.
Chuckle, yes it is tricky, but I hope I helped. thanks for watching
Thank you sir, greetings from Sweden.
Glad to be able to help
Reminds me of changing headlight bulbs on my old 05 Focus. Had to change one before a setting off to Scotland, the air was blue 😊
It seems my video has helped a lot of peoplle
The best & only video I found to help in locating/removing the drl bulb. Halfords guy gave up after some effort. Since then, a kind mechanic made me aware of the MOT manual which shows the DRL can be masked/deactivated (call it what you like) and it can't fail on this basis, if prior to 2018 model.
I found your video & description to be very comprehensive & clear, especially the need to face fwd & use your right hand for the front nearside bulb. Thanks again.
Thank you, glad you managed
It’s a useful video but I found I could not remove the bulb and holder from the headlamp assembly. I found I couldn’t get enough purchase on it to unscrew it anticlockwise.
It is awkward to do
Thanks for this. Do you know the model of bulb? From what I can make out, the PHILIPS PW24W 12182HTRC1 should do it?
I found the package the bulb came in, it says Volkswagen N 10776301, I hope this helps and thanks for watching.
I'm halfway there, i.e., I managed to remove the burnt-out bulb and order a new one. Without your video, I wouldn't make it, so I'm joining the group of those who are grateful to you. Funny thing, the factory manual doesn't say anything about how to get to this bulb or the front turn signal.
bless you!!
I am so glad to have helped ☺️
Well without your video I would have been stuck as it seems no one else on TH-cam covers replacement of this bulb. Does anybody remember the “good old days” when a replacement vehicle sidelight was just a few pence. John paid £23 for this bulb, I managed a place that was £13. Car manufacturers now manage a variety of different bulbs which ensures part sales manage one huge rip off.
Glad that I helped you and hope your light is working again.
Hi there, what the part number for the bulb? Thanks in advance
@@roydj64 if you look further down in the comments you will find it. Thanks for watching.

You my friend are a genius. There is a special place in hell reserved for Skoda/VW when it comes to doing anything to their evil vehicles and the cost of parts chee4s
You are welcome.
Привет Джон у меня часто сгорает лампа такая же с одной стороны через несколько дней как заменить лампу и она опять сгорает
You need to be good to keep up with replacements, that is unfortunate.
Hi John, I have a 2014 model Skoda Yeti and I was told my 'left front parker' was blown, it's exactly the same light that you show not working at the start of the video. I bought the recommended bulb from my local auto shop, but it looks nothing like the one you show in this video. Do you know if these bulbs are for parking lights as well, or have they told me the wrong thing?
I think that the daylight running light is different to the arking light
@@johnpawson7400 Thanks John 😁 I spent a fair amount of time looking it up and eventually found out that they're the same light in my Yeti model, and I finally found a bulb that fits. It's very similar to yours, but the glass shape is a little different.
Phew! I'm glad that's over. Your video certainly helped, but my sausage fingers would not go in far enough to be able to remove it. I ended up taking the head lamp out. I remember the days you could change a bulb at the roadside.
Oh yeah Skoda wanted £36 for the bulb today 😲
Chuckle, I did say it was tight. Glad you managed it
This is the worst design ever. Skoda are rubbish.
@@asdrewwI hope that you have managed it
What is the name ist this bulb? It's not a W5W. Is it PW24W?
The bulb I fitted was a Volkswagen N1776301, hope this helps
Thanks John. Super fiddly and awkward angle, got there in the end after managing to dislodge the clips around the back of the light!
Great, glad I did this video
You sir are amazing, problem with the drl this morning and followed your instructions and hey presto fixed 👍
You are welcome, glad to have helped
I can’t really make out what’s going on, so off to find a video that’s a bit clearer.
Sorry about that, good luck
Thanks, I can see that it very difficult to film, it's an awkward design!@@johnpawson7400
ничего не понятно
Cheers John, My Bulb has just blew, now know how to change it thanks to you
Glad to be of help, thanks for watching
Спасибо! Единственное полезное видео по замене лампы дхо.
Glad to have helped
Cheers fella
@@MrDamianByrd Happy I have helped
Thanks John When I did that side I had to take the fuse box cover off to get a littele more room but just managed it
Glad you managed to do it
Thanks for your video, I couldn’t get my hand inside to turn it , had to ask my neighbour . Bulb cost £19.99 euro car parts.
Brilliant, thanks for letting me know.
Had this replaced by dealer a couple of years ago. They took the bumper off and charged well over £100. This time I found your video, ordered online for a fraction of the cost. Much appreciated. Tried your amazon link but 'unavailable'.
Wow glad you saved the money, fantastic.
Thanks for the video. Just changed both daytime running lamps. I would add not to try and turn the lamp holder anti clockwise. Instead simply wiggle lamp holder and pull. There are 2 clips Moulded on to the lamp holder that slot into place when offered up correctly. Twisting will not release the clips, only strain your wrists. Hope this helps 😊
Thanks Stephen, glad you found it useful
Thanks. I’ve been trying to turn it anticlockwise without any success.
Just did that myself. No need to turn or jerk the plug. Just pull it by the wires and it pops out.
Thanks for that
You do not need to replace your daytime running lights as it is not a legal requirement, so if you cannot afford the £23 then don't install any. I would go as far as remove the working one so that it looks the same. Well done for the Video it was also very helpful.
Thanks for that James
I disagree, as noticed the DRL bulb is also the sidelight but uses less power to it. So position 1 on the headlight switch use this bulb. Be interesting to know how you got it through an MOT if you remove the m!
John do you use your left or right hand?
For the light I replaced I used my right hand and faced forward with my right side against the wing, hope that helps.
@@johnpawson7400 John I can reach the holder but cannot twist it.Is it a push fit?
A gentle push and twist should do it
Thanks for this video, great help, was really tricky getting my fingers to do the counterclockwise rotate, in the end i think it just needed to be wiggled and pulled, got there in the end, and putting it back was also tricky but its just seamed to push into place and that was it :)
Really good to hear that you managed it.
Hi John, Thank you for taking time to make this video. It is very helpful 👍
You are welcome
Thanks John, really appreciate it
No worries!
Is this the same bulb and procedure for the MK1 Yeti. I thought the MK2 DRL was led?
That is the bulb that fits my car, I do not know what mark mine is.
@@johnpawson7400 Yours is the facelifted front end and lights from around 2014 onwards. It was a bit confusing as the thumbnail showed a mk1 and yours is the mk2.
@@Y0u7u8e. the thumbnail is my car, the bulb is a volkswagen N10776301, hope that helps
Thank you John - its really difficult access and your video helped me!
Good I am glad the video helped, thanks for watching.
Thanks for that, the one on my drivers side has gone
I hope I have helped Chris
Hi John , thanks for taking the time to make this video. It is very helpful
You are welcome
Thank you so much
You are welcome, glad I helped.

worst cameraman ever! no idea where you got that bulb from.. I'm off to halfords
They don't stock them
@@johnpawson7400 I'm just kidding.. I couldn't get my hand in to sort. honestly.. thanks though🙏🏽
@@popeyedoyle2103 Just because you can't get your fat finger's in a hole and find the bean...I mean light beam bulb....Don't blame it on Sigourney Weaver's cameras work.
