I just saw the way use used 2, not 1, bathroom drawer slides side by side like that mitigated a lot of the problems with them. It looks like you gained a lot of stability that way.
You bought the wrong type of guides. Check out slides that don't have that extra slider, like keyboard drawer slides, not bathroom drawer slides like you have. Seach on youtube for Making Linear Guides from Drawer Slides by Matthias Wandel

I used my slides flat. Wish I'd done them upright like this vid.
