I used to live around the corner from UAL and loved to peruse their clothing. Some good finds. Couldn't afford anything on my New Orleans salary 😂. A lot of the places you used the be able to find good designer stuff at cut-rate prices in NYC have now closed.

I live in Gaborone, Botswana, do you know where exactly your friend bought those slippers? Love them. Want a pair for Summer! I love how Michael is so supportive of your career! Great video. This is perhaps unrelated and random, but I love the fact that your videos are family-friendly. I'm watching with my 2 year old in the room and I don't have to worry about swearing, expletive-laden rants, random moments of unnecessary nudity. It's just a lovely video about fashion and travel. You really showed out with the looks you put together for NOLA Essence. During my younger years I had attended the festival for around 3 times. Never experience the seminars or going touring off the gride. I know you had to pick up some things at the shop because so much scream you and that lime green slip dress was jaw dropping with everything else and you got that France trip, hope Micheal had room in his suitcase. TeeHee! I got some good shopping on when I went there for the festival and actually still have every last piece. I am so addicted to accessories and wearing men hats have been my thang way back in my pre-teen years (around 50 years ago). You and Mike are officially jetsetters. I considered that Micheal got his bag back with no problem since there was no update on it return. I am not a foodie really don't care for trying out main dish food, got a large plate of all you can eat crawdad and wasted them when the guy told me to suck the head. Well hope you guys had fun, it nothing like stepping back on home soil, right Mike? I was hoping to get back to GA but mom had another stroke, so I am staying close, to deal with her care. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.

Karen you look great in all your outfits. The green dress at the begining of the vlog, don't you have a black skirt like the dress? Loved all the shoes you wore. At the Liquidators store I liked the white mesh net wedge shoes you picked up, also the white dress, black peasant blouse. Your two piece blue skirt set was gorgeous! You and Michael looks so good together happy you all had a great time.
It was great for you to have been able to be back in NoLa again. Great music, food, and shopping. I miss it dearly. I first flew there in the 1980s for a long weekend. I had always wanted to go, but airfares from L.A. were always ridiculously high back then. Then one day I was getting on a plane in N.Y., as I had just finished attending fashion designer Willie Smith's memorial, and was flying home to L.A.. On the plane, the airline gave out scratcher tickets. I got home, scratched it off, and had won free round trip airfare to NoLa. Was I beyond shocked and thrilled or what? My heart nearly stopped. I flew there and stayed at the Windsor Court and also at a small, traditional French Quarter hotel.
in 2015, I went there again to go to Mardi Gras and had a lot of fun. But, my favorite is the 4-day French Quarter Festival that is usually in April. I went to that festival annually from 2016 to 2019, but had to cancel 2020, due to the pandemic. If you haven't been, you should go. It's 4 days of music everywhere in the heart of the French Quarter with stages and groups of famous musicians set up in the middle of the street. I stayed in French Quarter hotels. I like both the Bourbon Orleans on Orleans Street and its sister hotel Le Marais on Conti Street. Plus, by staying at the Bourbon Orleans, I have a quick walk to Muriels' restaurant and a lot of other ones in the immediate area and by staying at the Le Marais Hotel on Conti street, I was close to the really good Vietnamese restaurant, 9 Roses Cafe, to switch up the food. Unfortunately, they had to close that location due to the pandemic of 2020.

I stayed around the corner on Iberville and passed Michael headed into Walgreens .... I was hopeful to have caught a glimpse of you but alas I didn't. They definitely weren't playing with the bag policy at the SuperDome!
What a wonderful vicarious vacation for us. Love, love New Orleans & have been many times due to family there. Karen, I am obsessed with your hair. Please share at sometime, the preparation. Will have to look at this Vlog 2 more times to get all the shops & restaurants in my contact list. Let Michael know that the Hat shop will be at the top of my list. The earth that my grandchildren will live their lives on is begging all you jet setters to pick a place and stay there. I am very aware that I follow all you people because the lifestyle is one I envy which makes me a hypocrite, however, Holy Mother of God, it’s crunch time as far as planet warming is concerned. I mean, the air is full of wildfire smoke from thousands of miles away and the humidity is 97%. Time to stay home, people.
