- For over twenty years, Vidmantas Jakas was a fisherman. Today he takes tourists across the Curonian Lagoon to see the beauty of Lithuania's Baltic Sea coast. A lot has changed for him and for Lithuania since the little republic joined the European Union and NATO in 2004. DW-TV was there in 2000. This report follows up on that journey, looking at what has become of the people we met back then.

You had the Marshall Plan for that yourselves - funded by American tax payers - while Lithuania was being devastated by the reds. So long and thanks for the milking equipment!
