Ringo do be sad... Music credit to: The Beatles • Octopus's Garden Beatl... Social Media: Instagram: / amberfares @amberfares / iwannaholdyouryeet @iwannaholdyouryeet
I always thought Octpuses’ Garden and Yellow Submarine were childish lullabies when I was a kid. Ringo, being the stoic centered one was the first to leave during the White Album sessions, escaping to Greece to go snorkling and scuba diving. Octopuses Garden is about him finding tranquility with the inevitable end of the Beatles and how he’d frankly just rather be enjoying the splendor and beauty of this earth. I know Ringo was a simple man and gets shit on as “the worst Beatle” but seriously, Ringo was the glue and the least egotistical of the whole crew. He just wanted everyone to get along and play fun music.
Honestly, there's no such thing as "the worst Beatle" when all of them contributed a fair amount to the Beatles. Remove one of them, and you no longer have the Beatles that we know and love.
I never understood why they didn't at least give him a tambourine or some bongos or hell even a shaker. But then, we wouldn't be talking about it today lol
@Lucien Hicks HAHA yes! Classic! I love Bill Hicks too. I discovered him years ago through Tool. I had all his standup on MP3, and even donated to the Bill Hicks Wildlife Foundation and got a tape of his older material. My favorite of course is when he talks about acid, and putting the cop in the jar.
@Lucien Hicks I'm sure it's not always easy but if you're having fun you're doing something right. Nola sounds cool too. I had a trip that got cancelled due to covid and hurricane Zeta.
@OffensiveMan I hate low effort comments by big youtubers as much as you, but this one seems pretty innocent, and doesn't have that many likes. Anyways I don't think we should condemn verified users just because they comment on a video.
Ringo once said in an interview that, he was only "allowed" to play the drum line that Paul told him to play. Paul would sit down at his drums and say..."here, play it like this." Ringo had no choice. Funny that Ringo sold tons of records in his solo career and had 2 number 1 hits. Not bad for a drummer.
@@swlk9996 As a retired professional drummer who has played for over 45 years, my guess is that you can't play and know nothing about drums at all. Was Ringo the best? No. Was he good? Yes. Half the drummers in bands today can't even keep a beat which is, as you evidently do not know, the primary job of the drummer. Ringo used to go to the Zildjian factory and try out thousands of cymbals before picking the one he thought sounded the best. I bought many Beatle albums in the 1960's (Played my first pro gig in 1968) and, if you had listened to the bands on the radio then, and compared Ringo in the context of what other drummers were/were not doing at that time, you would appreciate how good he was.

Ringo is one of the most energetic drummers I have seen. The way he swings around his whole body is amazing. And he's wearing buttoned shirts and a suit. Can't even begin to imagine how he must have sweated during live shows.

@@megapants444 Yes, he was a great time keeper. He was also great at playing to the song. Very underrated as a drummer, except for by other drummers & musicians with ears. That's why that made up "He isn't even the best drummer in the Beatles" story is so irritating for me. There's no evidence at all that Lennon said it, & even if he did it would have been nothing more than a typically Liverpudlian sarcastic joke, considering everything else he said about Ringo's drumming.
