    A large variety of Sovereigns today for sale not a everyday occurrence was it first come first serve or pot luck. What did I buy nothing, thought about the 5 coin gold proof set at 5.7k to much money just to buy as a punt. Will see what the secondary market brings over time.

    Don't mention Magpies, I have 5 of them squawking and cackling in my back garden....there driving me mad!!! I had a look a few moments ago and still in stock, but with a cost of £725 and a high mintage, is it worth it, when you can get nearly 2 bullion ones for that, then I will take the bullions ones please. Is there a release date for the bullion ones yet?

  • @dickdangle1963
    @dickdangle1963 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    19000 mintage means in 12 months time there will be plenty for sale in second hand market for £600.

    Not sure on the 5 sovereign coronation proof set 1050 mintage? High end of the range and out of stock early! Anyone think its a goer on the secondary market or by special order now? I missed the damn thing :0/

  • @captainhindsight8779
    @captainhindsight8779 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I think the low mintage of the half and quarter sovereigns are the ones to buy if you can get one, certainly a very low risk investment for the medium to long term IMHO

  • @markbarnard5923
    @markbarnard5923 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I do think this is a specific Coronation Sovereign, as it has the Crowned Head of the King. That said I don’t think there needs to be another Sovereign issue this year. It could be a Coronation issue and this years only issue too. If they want to milk collectors futher they could add a 75 Privy mark for a Strike On the Day King's Birthday for the 14th November, again using the Crowned Head.

    New investor here, but took a punt on 2 Half Sovereigns. There may have been an error on the price I paid, as got the pair for less than the price of the full sovereign! (Not saying where that was, but was not RM). Every little helps.

  • @Stg2077
    @Stg2077 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    SOTD is the one to hold in my opinion. High mintage on this means you’ll see slabbed versions for less than rrp in a few months time. If you like it, buy it. Single not an investment though. Five Sovs and Doubles May do well

  • @zerobars79

    Too many Sovereigns have been released in such a relatively short space of time, unfortunately cannot buy them all, so have given this one a miss. Have i done the right thing, only time will tell.

    • @mike-js2510
      @mike-js2510 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, good point. With the number of new releasees for the 3 big Royal events, I suggest that "minor" events wouldn't get much interest, so best if they aren't honoured with special sovereigns or other commemorative coins this year.

    Rather depends if Charles will be wearing a crown in future coins . If he isn't the crownless Britannia and sovereign will be more collectable as he will have been crownless one year and crowned for as many years as he lives . Crown wearing on coins stamps is optional .

    • @anthonycunningham8116
      @anthonycunningham8116 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He is unlikely to be depicted wearing a crown on any coins beyond 2023-infact 2024 Britannias are already out and he is crownless.

    Two single Sovereigns now and the 5 matte (under the radar low mintage)when it's released. The question will be if future releases will be crowned. That's where the value will be.

    More people would buy the sets if they were transparent with premiums. Alot of guys that I know spending serious money hardly ever look at premiums and thise that calculate it, take the higher premiums most of the time. You get what you pay for.
