Coco is a wonderful, sweet and protective mother. She is doing well but she wants nothing more than to be with her puppies. We really have to push her outside to go pee. The puppies drink very well and grow every day. I can watch them all day long.

You can tell Coco wants to go for a walk, but doesn’t want to leave her babies. What a good little mama. It’s amazing how much Dachshund ears and noses grow from what they are at birth. I could watch this all day.

I have adopted two senior dachshunds, had/have had two with congenital "defects," and got our first "perfect" one.... but they have all been perfect. Dachshunds are the best dogs I've ever had. Thank you Lil' Squirt, Candy, Peanut, Dolly, and Cutie Pie. You have enriched my life beyond measure.

Our family dog, Tinker, had puppies when I was a child, and she was the same way: had to be taken away from them and put outside to pee. My Mom swore Tinker peed before her feet hit the ground and then dashed back inside to her babies.

Im Gegensatz dazu sieht man streunende Hündinnen unter furchtbaren Umständen gebären und aufziehen. Dazu war das Kulturgut Hund einst nicht gedacht.
