Pocketbook Inkpad Lite 9.7" LARGE SCREEN e-Reader Full Review

  • The Pockebook Inkpad Lite is exclusively designed to be a solid large screen ebook reader that has USB-C and supports an SD card up to 128GB. It has a sunken screen and bezel design, so it does not reflect light like a glass based screen.
    In this review we give you our impressions of the hardware, such as the manual page turn keys. We also look at the software and how it handles sideloaded ebooks and PDF files.

    I loved my Kindle Dx, so funny you mentioned it.
    This looks like a solid reader option and I'm not too upset about the limited note taking capabilities. That's what you have a dedicated tablet for.
    Thanks for the great review, and the contest.

    Great reviews generally, but you guys need a better PDF review for this. For example, how well does it do margin cropping on big textbook or article PDFs?

    When I see a screen that size, I ALWAYS want the ability to rotate the screen horizontally and get a two-page view, just like reading a paperback book. It's literally the ONLY thing I want from a device like that - to mimic a real book, and I wish e-reader reviews would make such a critique standard. Maybe I missed it, though ... did you discuss screen rotation/2-page view? (For something that is built to be a purely dedicated e-reader, with a LOT of real estate, I think it's totally reasonable to expect this.)

    That's some screen size, indeed. I thing 10" would be a great standard, at the end, it's just the most comfortable as for me. I'm just eager to see more color devices with similar characteristics and that much of a screen.

    I always wonder why the heck they add a touch screen and wi-fi and some useless apps.
    All I need is a huge fkng screen, preferably 10-13 inch so that it doesn't have to convert pdfs!, fast-load PDFs - and that is it. Nothing more. It should cost like 50$ but no, instead all large screen available are 300$ touch-screen weirdos. I don't get it.

    I read the the screen PPI is only 150 ppi, as been spoiled in the world of 300 ppi for years now, I am wondering how sharp it is for the text regarding experience. It's a nice a clean reading focused reader and I like that, but I am not quite sure why Pocketbook chose to use such a low ppi screen.

    • @outsideworld76
      @outsideworld76 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      150ppi is the same resolution as the Sony DPT-S1 and Kindle DX. The reason they use this resolution is because that's the resolution the 9.7" eink panel has.

    Annoying aren't makers competing for the title of best large size eReader. I want a 9" eReader without a bezel nor chin. Pease someone make that. Must be white (not graphite) and must display page numbers down bottom with ability to chose what size of margin I like. The reason why I chose 9" is that's the size of a DVD case, which strikes me as perfect size for reading. Kindles are too small. 9" is more book sized.
