This recent sequence of videos is just sheer brilliance. For people like me who have always been trail side dominant and have tried forever to get the throw out of the swing, improving at golf has been a frustrating journey. It’s such a breakthrough to learn that many great players not only throw the club, but it’s the key to their success. The critical part is learning how to throw correctly. This really works and it’s the first time, I am finding that my swing is consistent from day to day. I’m not fighting my release pattern. I’m learning how to use it to my advantage. Great stuff, Chuck. Keep it coming!

This is reminiscent of the time I was in Miami at a Jimmy Ballard school 30 years ago ago! He referred to this as “springing” the club!

Finally, someone says that there's more than one way to release the golf ⛳ club. I thought 🤔 I was going crazy when I noticed that I get speed from more of a 'casting' release vs a delayed or throwing release.

Craig worked with me on this exact thing in our live lesson today. I highly recommend a live lesson from an RSA instructor.

Absolutely! Preach brother, haha. As long as your clubface doesn't pass the handle till after impact your all goods to throw from the top. I injured my spine/neck and had to learn to hold and swing a club again. 3 years of pt and I can pitch about 25 yards give or take. Personally I can attest, this has been the easiest method to control path and face to nail distance control without incurring extra pain in my back and neck whilst swinging, in regards to hand action I mean. Maybe different for others I assume, but that's been my experience.... Not sure how far 2 cents will get you these days, but there you go 😂

Chuck. GREAT video. Check out the Trevor Immelman “ax drill” video. This move/ your swing thought, stopped my over the top.

So the wrist unlocks then the elbow as your hands move as fast as you can move them?

Hard to talk feels… but is the ulnar coupled with supination? When I think ulnar my right, that’s how I’d hit a flop shot.

The key point that I think is missing from this discussion is that no matter how you choose to release the club, the trail elbow must lead the way. No matter how fast or slow the hands move , if the hands outrace the trail elbow to the delivery position, you will cast.

I don’t think about the elbow. I think about external rotation of the trail upper arm and shoulder. That’s what I rehearse a little bit before takeaway. It’s the internal rotation that causes the hands to get in front of the elbow.

@@rexxengineering8333 If you recall Ben Hogan's "side basketball pass" sketch from "Five Lessons," he's basically demonstrating what you just said here. A different sketch from that book is where I focus - the "3rd baseman sidearm toss" sketch , where, like an infielder or a pitcher, the elbow leads. From that point, Mr. Hogan famously says, "I wish I had three right hands."
