Permanently changed my perception of what live music could be and should be. And that is after 1,000 plus concerts. Mind blown, eyes glazed, I was never the same after this night. It ruined almost every concert experience from that point forward. EPIC GENIUS!
It's that Pure Phase feedback, it's that ethos that live should always be better than recorded. It's the commitment of not making money and taking a gospel choir and orchestra on tour with you, because the music demands it. I truly love this band, #J.Spaceman
i've had experiences like that in much more stripped down settings...but its real. i was lucky to catch Spacemen 3 in nyc whilee in town to see Butthole Surfers (their show back in buffalo had a big impact on me). That was Spacemen 3's last trip, they were finished soon after. This is pretty overwhelming, and he could strip this down and it would be equally powerful, but you gotta respect the vision being performed on a stage. ive passed on bands after a show that had a big effect on me, fearing i'd only be let down and i didnt want that memory of a perfect show being tainted. only a few times that happened.
I was there too - and completely agree. Also saw him at the Apollo for Acoustic Mainlines and it was him with a choir, an organ and an acoustic guitar.....that rearranged my mind as well...
It's because he has SOUL. The Radio City ticket for this show is on my wall because there's literally so much soul and honesty - the lyrics are humbled; no machismo bullshit, no false masculine fronts - there is only humanity, the mistakes we make, the joy, the pain, the respite and potential absolved state we crave, and the fucked up middle space in-between, all of us stuck here in the garden together. "For all the fucked up children of this world, we give you...Spiritualized?"
I am a damn fool . Recently got clean for the 3rd and FINAL time. I have 3 beautiful children. Like I said, a damn fool. This music helps me very much. Thank you J Spaceman. In a way, I owe you my life. Gratitude.

What should one say about an epic genius? I saw Jason in Berlin a couple of weeks ago and it was overwhelming, but i have to admit this gig is even 1 or 2 steps higher rated from my side... Vocals/symphonic orchester/wah wah guitars and more. I am close tears

I know, right? I went to see them in Glasgow last year, and they were okay, but seeing this live would have been epic! Truly one of the greatest albums ever recorded.

What is it, exactly, that makes us disciples of Jason Pierce so devoted? Surely there are better and more original song writers, better guitar players, far better singers. Much of the music of Spiritualized is derived from the MC5, Stooges, and Pink Floyd. You could make a hundred criticisms of the band, yet it doesn't matter. I saw them perform in Detroit on May 4, and it was the greatest show I'd seen in many years. I'm a true believer and would crawl across broken glass to see them again.
