Death's fathom is on par with griffon's eye and death's web in terms of difficulty to find. They are super difficult to drop and some of the rarest items in the game. You can play for years without dropping one. It is definitely not budget

“Budget”, meaning no high runeword items. You have a decent chance of finding these items if you look for them. Dbrunski literally said the ist’s were just style points. Use p topaz’s if you want.
Yeah you are right, the idea behind the build works however, you can replace this item with heart of the oak or an occulus or a good rare orb and it will still work. You don't need 500% mf as it suffers greatly from diminishing returns. In my opinion if you are over 250% you are more than ok in terms of mf %
If you guys really think this gear is unfindable you aren't putting much energy into trying to magic find. You're the gets on does one mephisto run dies 10 times trying to get to mephisto and 5 times trying to kill him. He doesn't drop anything good and you say this game sucks! He never drops anything good!
I think reaching the 105fcr breakpoint is crucial when farming multiple areas that needs more teleports to find the entrance, also gives more dmg between blizzards, gives more mf with the occy, a little bit less dmg overall for sure, but faster you reach things, the faster you can start attacking, also 10fcr rare rings can go to 25mf(yeah, pretty hard to find, but still) and can give pretty nice mods like all res and str to give you more potential to run places like chaos and baals, but thats my opinion
can we address the chart that shows diminishing returns on magic find%? I saw it in one of llama's videos and based on that I don't think I would go much beyond 400.

I don’t know about charts but anything around 300MF is decent depending on clear speed. For my own MF sorcs I’ve ran as high as over 700 but I sacrificed survivability and kill speed. 600 is a good compromise.
How do you add items to your inventory if it's 100% stuffed with charms? Stopping to drop charms and pick up/identify items or even worse go back to town to identify then go back and pick up the charms... That would be incredibly tedious.
I don't understand why people don't have gull and rhyme on off hand and switch to that before killing andy and meph. its a massive jump in mf. blows my mind
My old d2 lod sorc had over 1000+ magic find when I played years ago, had ethereal sword with 2 gems can’t remember the name, had a ethereal armour with gem which had a tonne of magic find, magic find rings, charms.. man I miss Diablo 2

Love the content and I’ve been subscribed for a long time, I haven’t been able to play d2 resurrected because I can’t afford a computer right now. Helping out my family is more important than gaming but eventually I’ll be able to play some d2r and enjoy it. D2 has been one of my favorite games ever and even played in the early days of gaze/shaft/wf Amazon’s back in 1.18 in pretty sure.
I still think Blizzard should have integrated a patch option for single player. So you can select what patch you want to play. I miss so many old builds …
I completely agree with your take on farming Andy. You add an entire other level before you find her. Meph is super quick. I’ll have to try ancient tunnels.
Id say even more budget would be use tal weapon with or without a ist, but you then could wear a goldwrap belt. You could farm summoner as well with this build for keys. I find blood raven fast and can drop stuff too

Act 1 defensive Merc can also be useful for added protection against mobs. Plus you are not even thinking about Infinity builds here which opens up a lot more areas to farm.
Tell me about it, I'm doing holy grail with a friend and was playing that char adapted to my findings for the last 1,5 years. I had to change this week, I couldn't stand doing another ancient tunnels run 🤣

I would totally be using this build, but I've been trying for the past 6 months to find the armour... last night I found two white lacquered plates and one blue lacquered plate... and Tals belt. I've tried baal, diablo, ancient tunnels, pits, pindle... nothing has worked
how much strength did you spec into without all the bonuses? or did you just look and see how much you need in endgame and spec into it later down the line?

If i remember good in the old days the Magic find was only for better blue ( magical ) items and not the higher tier items? There was a misunderstanding in that earlier
Most ppl forget that killspeed and monster density are quite important too. Focus on killspeed and ~300-400mf is enough. On hardcore with more resistances and more fhr 200mf is enuf, so u dont need to play very defensively More kills in a certain amount of time = more possible drops. 105fcr should be the way to go at sorc
Amazing guide on my favourite mf character: the mf blizz sorc! 2 questions: 1) with high end gear (including perfect 50 mf war trav and plenty of 7 mf sc and isted occy), this build can reach 645 mf. Past 600 mf, it’s getting overkill on diminishing mf returns, so would you recommend the cold facet death’s fathom (565 mf, for more killing speed, but would need one more 10 FCR ring to still reach 105 FCR) or isted death fathom (590 mf), or stick to isted occy (645 mf) for the endgame in ancient tunnels from an efficiency point of view? 2) It’s been a while since I played D2, coming back for D2R, but does insight (meditation aura) make a difference for an endgame mf blizz sorc (lower mana consumption than other sorcs) in ancient tunnels? Although insight has good stats including good damage and a bonus 23 mf (only for kills made by merc), there’s another solid option: What do you think about Reaper’s toll? And its socket, what would you recommend? Maybe Shael (20 ias) to reach 10 ias (12 frames per jab), 20 ias (12 FPJ), 25 ias (11 FPJ), 45 ias (10 FPJ), 75 ias (9 FPJ) breakpoints of reaper’s toll? Honestly imo there is no wrong way to build this character. 105 fcr or 63 fcr, 400 to 600 mf etc. Just tailor depending on what you like play style. Insight is great because you never have to worry about drinking mana pots. Reaper toll is a nice option if you want more damage from your merc, and infinity is a nice option for dual fire/cold spec or to beef up your static field damage.
You guys get stuck on Insight really easily for these builds, but if you push an infinity on your merc then that opens a lot more areas for you to farm. Yeah you gotta be more mindful with your mana - but it's not that hard - I've done it before, of course that is end game farm sorc, not new game. Off the bat Insight is the obvious choice to base your stats off considering the rune value is so damn cheap.

I run similarish gear for my MF sorc. I use Occulus and Wartravs. And my rings are 10fcr and resist so I hit the 105%. I intend to replace them both with SOJ's, switch my gloves to magefists to keep the 105%, and then shore up resistances with charms. I'll sit comfortably over 400% mf still but with great kill speed, especially since I managed to make an Infinity. Where my build really diverges is skills. I run Charged Bolt and Frozen Orb. I also use energy shield. With this build I can solo anything on players one. I'm pretty sure I can still do that up to players 3, and once I get the Sojs, a couple lightning GC's, and a CTA for the offhand I think I should be good up to players 5 - maybe even 7 for some zones. I also don't have to count on Infinity to break immunity because I have two elements, it just increases kill speed substantially. And, oddly, the Occy teleport everyone hates is your friend when you like to point-blank charged bolt stuff. 9/10 it's going to put you in a better position than you were in if you start getting slapped around. Might switch to Hoto for better resists eventually at the cost of some MF, but I don't think I need it.
Do you think for controller orb might be better than blizz? Also what about doing energy shield / mana build. Back in the day that's how I had my blizz sorc setup, all the videos I see you do are all health and no mana \ energy shield. I want to make a decent MF sorc for my first build and go from there.
They say on TH-cam that when passing 300% there is a penalty and it should be taken to the next penalty limit so that it really serves so much, is true ?

Hey DBrunski my Boy I have seen many Posts where said more then 300 MF is not so good because the chance of sets and Uniques with more raise not equal to blue and yellow and so you find less Uniques and sets. What do you say about that?

My sorceress has beaten hell mode on players 8 difficulty but for some reason I am having trouble defeating enemies do you have a solution for this or is that in just rusty? Also I lost my Aldurs Advance helmet for my Druid because of a bug.Do you know who I could farm to get it back?
Yes, simple go frost orb / fire ball. For ladderstart put 20 in frostorb, 10 in cold mastery. All other skillpoints in fireball / meteor and its synergies. Merc with a decent insight in an exceptional base should to the fire/cold immunte monsters. May take some time but works decent.
I'd like to see a Smiter guide specifically tailored to budget/early Ladder. I feel like after a MF character, that's a really important thing that a lot of people will be looking into and needing.
Ancient tunnels, I remember it's the first time only and only place I find Zod rune with my hybrid 3element sorc I'm so proud of it.. And back then I don't even know about area level monster level whatsoever Just play enter every dungeon/area, kill champ, unique, boss repeat for 4month.. lol good old days

I started a single player build when this video came out. It ripped though untill hell. Physical/cold immune is almost impossible to kill. I need something or gear for my follower to handle immune packs. I have insight. Or just need more lvl stats. Any other skills worth putting a couple of points in to help?
Great editing. I love your knowledge. But can't help but wonder when you showed the gear your set items said you had all tals except helm. Then I didn't see anything because... well you have a 3 piece set right?? Then you go to your merc. And he has 2?? Yet he only had the helm??? So you had the whole set? I'm confused because I only saw 4 of the 5 piece but both merc and you showed it? I can give time stamps if you would like. But still it confused me. Like I said I love your knowledge. But when you show items and it shows the set connections and you say only 3 or this and that it's confusing when. I see 4. And at first. I thought maybe the set item on the merc combines like it does with auras and stuff. But you go to him and it's only 2 out of 5. But yet he only had the helm. So?? I'm just confused is this single player hacks? Or is this something I haven't learned in 20 years and I should know before D2R???
I think it would be really cool when you make a magic finding char like this that you added a section where you could start the building process. Like this is a good place at X difficulty to find shako.. here is for occy here is for talk amulet etc.. I think it would really make it more interesting. Instead of the catch all farm t85 area till you find items you can trade for these items maybe leaning to offline pluggy players or fresh ladder players
Make a copy of your Plugy and delete every Char and Stuff. Make a 60 Days till D2R Journy, show some normal stuff and you help the D2 Community. Show some People how cool Diablo 2 without Enigma, Infinity, Torch and Anni is. Record the journey and don’t do anything like „ahh yesterday evenening I found a Ber, Tals Armor, SoJ … (Torch … insert OP items) but I don’t recorded it“ That would be funny and generates clicks in the next weeks. This is what most of the new (old) Players experience in D2R for the rest of 2021.
Nice setup! My Holy Grail (40 items left) sorc uses: -Ist'd shako -3 piece Tal set like yours -6 Ist'd crystal sword -Magefist -War traveler -Spirit -CTA+Spirit swap -Torch+Anni+Gheed's+lots of mf% charms I can clear tunnels pretty fast on p5 with 750% mf, i know it's a bit of overkill, but it's quite fun running around with a sword XD
How did you socketed your Shako? I saw some players that put a Ist or Topaz on it and I would like to do that too but I don't know how. Do I have to find one with a 1os or exist a horadric recipe for socket it?
But why Blizzard and not an OrbBaller? OrbBaller can do all the same and more areas. Frozen orb is plenty strong enough and Fireball helps against those immunes. Sure in Chaos and Throne it lacks but so does Blizzard due to immunes, and that's where high FCR fireballs come in for the OrbBaller

yeah occy is the way to go for a "budget"-option.
Occy works great as a budget option. The build also runs fine without a torch and anni.

Wrong, more mf means more « unique » drops, any good d2 player knows gg items are « magic » and « rare »

Andy is more consistent to farm tho. Much faster to find tbh. Meph is always hard to find and much larger tiles.
Halls of Pain(ancient tunnels on crack) act 5 is good for cold sorcs too, if you go up a level though there will be cold immunes.

Fresh alternative mf route :
Try maggot lair with blizz sorc, 3 floors with many boss packs in tight area, no cold immune and ilvl83-85 :)

Just a quick one. In ancient tunnels you mentioned focus on champions/boss packs, so its not worth doing the full clear speaking in long turn farming?

Honestly imo there is no wrong way to build this character. 105 fcr or 63 fcr, 400 to 600 mf etc. Just tailor depending on what you like play style.
Insight is great because you never have to worry about drinking mana pots. Reaper toll is a nice option if you want more damage from your merc, and infinity is a nice option for dual fire/cold spec or to beef up your static field damage.
You guys get stuck on Insight really easily for these builds, but if you push an infinity on your merc then that opens a lot more areas for you to farm. Yeah you gotta be more mindful with your mana - but it's not that hard - I've done it before, of course that is end game farm sorc, not new game. Off the bat Insight is the obvious choice to base your stats off considering the rune value is so damn cheap.

I run similarish gear for my MF sorc. I use Occulus and Wartravs. And my rings are 10fcr and resist so I hit the 105%. I intend to replace them both with SOJ's, switch my gloves to magefists to keep the 105%, and then shore up resistances with charms. I'll sit comfortably over 400% mf still but with great kill speed, especially since I managed to make an Infinity.
Where my build really diverges is skills. I run Charged Bolt and Frozen Orb. I also use energy shield.
With this build I can solo anything on players one. I'm pretty sure I can still do that up to players 3, and once I get the Sojs, a couple lightning GC's, and a CTA for the offhand I think I should be good up to players 5 - maybe even 7 for some zones. I also don't have to count on Infinity to break immunity because I have two elements, it just increases kill speed substantially. And, oddly, the Occy teleport everyone hates is your friend when you like to point-blank charged bolt stuff. 9/10 it's going to put you in a better position than you were in if you start getting slapped around. Might switch to Hoto for better resists eventually at the cost of some MF, but I don't think I need it.

i suggest aldurs boots on a sorc to compensate for the lack of fire resist from spirit
Do you think for controller orb might be better than blizz? Also what about doing energy shield / mana build. Back in the day that's how I had my blizz sorc setup, all the videos I see you do are all health and no mana \ energy shield. I want to make a decent MF sorc for my first build and go from there.
Why an a2 might aura merc? Does might increase your blizzard damage? Why not defiance for more defense?
Where did you get your stream assets? Like the video overlays of the D2 images?
Shako can drop with a os or did you socketed with some horadric recipe?

Hey DBrunski my Boy I have seen many Posts where said more then 300 MF is not so good because the chance of sets and Uniques with more raise not equal to blue and yellow and so you find less Uniques and sets. What do you say about that?

My sorceress has beaten hell mode on players 8 difficulty but for some reason I am having trouble defeating enemies do you have a solution for this or is that in just rusty? Also I lost my Aldurs Advance helmet for my Druid because of a bug.Do you know who I could farm to get it back?

Yes, simple go frost orb / fire ball. For ladderstart put 20 in frostorb, 10 in cold mastery. All other skillpoints in fireball / meteor and its synergies. Merc with a decent insight in an exceptional base should to the fire/cold immunte monsters. May take some time but works decent.
I'd like to see a Smiter guide specifically tailored to budget/early Ladder. I feel like after a MF character, that's a really important thing that a lot of people will be looking into and needing.

Ancient tunnels, I remember it's the first time only and only place I find Zod rune with my hybrid 3element sorc I'm so proud of it..
And back then I don't even know about area level monster level whatsoever

Yo dbrunski. Thanks for all the videos! I have a problem when playing with plugy and glide. Everytime i open the inventory, my mouse jumps to the left corner. Same if i open my stats, skills etc. Have any fix for this? :)

I started a single player build when this video came out. It ripped though untill hell. Physical/cold immune is almost impossible to kill. I need something or gear for my follower to handle immune packs. I have insight. Or just need more lvl stats. Any other skills worth putting a couple of points in to help?

Great editing. I love your knowledge. But can't help but wonder when you showed the gear your set items said you had all tals except helm. Then I didn't see anything because... well you have a 3 piece set right?? Then you go to your merc. And he has 2?? Yet he only had the helm??? So you had the whole set? I'm confused because I only saw 4 of the 5 piece but both merc and you showed it? I can give time stamps if you would like. But still it confused me. Like I said I love your knowledge. But when you show items and it shows the set connections and you say only 3 or this and that it's confusing when. I see 4. And at first. I thought maybe the set item on the merc combines like it does with auras and stuff. But you go to him and it's only 2 out of 5. But yet he only had the helm. So?? I'm just confused is this single player hacks? Or is this something I haven't learned in 20 years and I should know before D2R???

I think it would be really cool when you make a magic finding char like this that you added a section where you could start the building process. Like this is a good place at X difficulty to find shako.. here is for occy here is for talk amulet etc.. I think it would really make it more interesting. Instead of the catch all farm t85 area till you find items you can trade for these items maybe leaning to offline pluggy players or fresh ladder players

Make a copy of your Plugy and delete every Char and Stuff. Make a 60 Days till D2R Journy, show some normal stuff and you help the D2 Community. Show some People how cool Diablo 2 without Enigma, Infinity, Torch and Anni is. Record the journey and don’t do anything like „ahh yesterday evenening I found a Ber, Tals Armor, SoJ … (Torch … insert OP items) but I don’t recorded it“

My Holy Grail (40 items left) sorc uses:
-Ist'd shako
-3 piece Tal set like yours
-6 Ist'd crystal sword
-Magefist
-War traveler
-Spirit
-CTA+Spirit swap
-Torch+Anni+Gheed's+lots of mf% charms
I can clear tunnels pretty fast on p5 with 750% mf, i know it's a bit of overkill, but it's quite fun running around with a sword XD
How did you socketed your Shako?
I saw some players that put a Ist or Topaz on it and I would like to do that too but I don't know how.
Do I have to find one with a 1os or exist a horadric recipe for socket it?

Since 1.10, frozen orb has taken as backseat since no synergy.

To a point absolutely. Its a trade off. The more MF you have, the less value more MF is.
But why Blizzard and not an OrbBaller? OrbBaller can do all the same and more areas. Frozen orb is plenty strong enough and Fireball helps against those immunes. Sure in Chaos and Throne it lacks but so does Blizzard due to immunes, and that's where high FCR fireballs come in for the OrbBaller
