I have one, and would not stay in tune, changed the keys, love it now, the Tesla pickups sound very good. Weight relieved, and slim neck, is nice. selling my fat neck heavy Epiphone.
I just ordered mine. Thank you for using better effects with yours. Some of the other reviews on this model, the sound is so weak. I needed to hear that it can growl!
I have the exact model and color. It's a total beast!! Shipped fast, in perfect condition, was setup perfectly and plays great. Worth so much more than what you pay.
Hi from Spain again and thank you for your reply. I wrote to Johann Thomann and got a very positive response. They are replacing the "B" stock SC-550 II PAF that I had problems with and replacing it with a normal stock item at the original price. I just need to learn to play it as well as you! Kind regards,John.
Sometimes they leave a little polishing compound on it, which feels oily. This can also collect in crevices or odd areas and look like paste. I like the Tesla pickups over the Roswell, and would prefer the Teslas in the HB35 Plus.
Hi from Spain. Your video and numerous others convinced me. So I bought an SC-550 II PAF "B" but unfortunately mine arrived unplayable, the graphite nut was set so high it resulted in intonation problems even playing simple chords so I had that fixed at my cost. Then the selector switch, bridge volume and tone controls all failed so I returned it for repair. When it arrived back BOTH the volume and tone controls for both pick ups did not function so I had to return it again for repair. Yesterday, three months after I bought the guitar they gave me my money back, which I told them I did not want I simply wanted any SC-550 II model but they declined saying they did not have a "B" one available at the 245.00 Euro price I paid. They then told me to return the hard case I bought with the guitar which is perfect. Of course I incurred all the costs for the repair to the graphite nut and the travelling costs three times to my city post office. I really do not understand why they could not send me a working SC-550 II "B" to replace the one I originally purchased. I really enjoyed your honest and fair video, I can only assume I was unlucky? Kind regards,John.
Sorry to hear that, John Renshaw! I had some smaller issues (mostly optically) with some HB B-stock guitars. But most of them were ok, and they were all definitely playable. Also the electronics were working. The fews I sent back, I got the money back within days. But maybe it's easier, because I live in germany. But I remember one guitar I sent back, which was no longer available as a b-stock, so I couldn't get a replacement. So maybe you were just unkucky with your guitar. So I hope you better luck next time...also the shop should treat you as a customer better imho. Cheers!
yeah Biggest disappointment I'm having w/ Thomann lately is obviously the crazy expensive shipping costs and I haven't gotten a sticker in the last 4 HB's I've ordered.. I'm sure I'll get a S550 2 eventually, w/ this red I'll change out the black knobs for gold ones and get rid of those ugly "green" tuners.. on the red one should have gone w/ gold locking
Hi :) I have the same guitar and i was wondering if the high strings seemed to be lacking a bit of gain or high frequencies ? (and if you raised any of the pickups ?)
Hi Alexander, I can't find the higher strings to be lacking of gain. And usually I don't like to set the PUs very high. In most guitars I lower them and krank the gain in the amp or use an overdrive pedal. In this guitar, they are about 1mm higher than the pickup frame. Seems to work with my setting in the AxeFx. Cheers ;-)
We inspect them cause it's so hard to believe such an amazing quality guitar can cost so little. HB is tearing it up. I have 5, I have a Fender Strat, a couple Gibson LP's including a Custom, An Epi 60s standard, a Kramer Nightswan, a bunch of Ibanez RG's half of them are Japanese made, same w/ my Jackson but I still play my HB's way more, my HB SC-550 plus EMG is my most played guitar.. it's perfect.

Just ordered this model as my first guitar, can't wait
Great choice! I wish, my first guitar would have been of that quality...😁
Your tone is incredible.

Thanks for you comment! It's a great guitar, if you like Les Pauls. Plays better than the original. I hope, you like like it. Cheers!

Getting one soon! Can not wait

Hi John! Glad to hear that it worked out for you! 😀🤗
Congrats!
Great guitar, I have one myself. The stainless steel frets sold me, great mod platform.

I agree totally...luckily we don't have shipping costs here in germany ;-)

Looks and sounds really nice 👍
new subscriber thanks Daniel
Youre welcome 🤗🤘
that looks sweet!!!
Hey dude, is that a music store, or just your music room?
It's better than any music store I know ;-)
Minus tuning pegs…it’s worth the money!
Great review. Please clean audio track from high frequency noice its very annoying.
Thanks for sharing! Definately seems to be the LP worth considering over any other LP.
Harley Benton SC-550 II Silver Burst vs Harley Benton SC-Custom II Silver Burst? Which one choose? :/
Very nice. 👍
This guy collecting all the HBs
He's dedicated, addicted to HB! 😊
You like red guitars, just like me 😃
any grounding issues (buzzing) when you don't touch pickups?
No, nothing...Cheers!
I want one of those
I love how ppl inspect HB guitars that cost under $400 like they're just outta the Fender or Gibson custom shop. geezus.

It's because it's a better guitar than the cost. By a long, long margin.
"Ususally I don't like the middle position, at least with guitars. Because when I am in the middle between two women, then I like it." 😂🤣
Well...exactly! 😄👌
Why do you have (at least) 9 amp heads?
Why not? ;-)
Hard times, otherwise he would have 20....😊
The red room, so many red guitars!
Did it need some fretboard work?
No, nothing.
Has anyone ever told you that you look like Kiko from Megadeth? 🤘
How many red guitars ??? Lol
Can't have enough of these...😉
Why red? 🤣🤣🤣
Why not?
Would you buy this or the new Harley Benton SC-DLX Gotoh ?
Good question! I prefer the red color, but the coil split option is st I'm really missing in this guitar...
The Gotoh seems to be a bit more upgraded, but you can't go wrong either way.
Good question, I am also oscillating....
