Can you suggest between Asus Rog String Arion SSD Enclosure with Samsung 990 pro SSD and SanDisk E81(2000Mbps) external SSD?
Humm it's primarily related to how much you want to spend. The 990 with enclosure is more robust from my perspective. It is faster than the 2000mb/s and should be even faster if you have a computer with thunderbolt 3/4 ports. It will get the full speed somewhere double what I am getting (Apple does not have thunderbolt 3/4 USB-C port). The con with this setup is the metal enclosure can get really hot but if you always have the laptop on a table that's not problem.
SanDisk E81 is great it is easy to use and setup you will be limited by the speed as it is capped at 2000mbs and not sure if you will get all that when using it. You can try the E81 first if you get any issue with the speed or lag in while using any program running files on it you will certainly need to upgrade to the enclosure with higher speed.

Hi, could you please test whether the Samsung 990 Pro SSD and SABRENT enclosure work with the iPhone 15 Pro? Some phones may have issues detecting NVMe SSDs due to their high power consumption.

Currently the 990 Pro with the anyoyo enclosure the one on the video during the installation works fine with the iPhone 15 Pro.
Just Tested the 980 Pro currently living inside the Sabrent enclosure (it works fine with 15 and 15 Pro).

What enclosure do you recommend for my 990 pro 4tb I also just ordered? I have a Mac M2 ultra with 6 thunderbolt 4 ports.
The enclosure I used in this video is what I still have Enclosure: amzn.to/3ORn1ng it is perfect never deceived me. It is still working fine (it is always connected to my M1 Mac literally always) final cut which is what I use most project file is inside the 990 Pro and all other stuff for me to do my vid editing. I am very happy with this and my goal was to have the most reliable but not blindly go for the most expensive enclosure. So far it is good and am using it daily. Only issue might be it gets hot since it is all metal but my M1 is always on the table I don't have any physical contact with the enclosure just the keyboard 🤣.
You got some power there M2 Ultra hahha. I wanted to upgrade but while hesitating we are alredy near M4 debut. Still debating if I need it the M1 is fine for what I do. Only complain is 16gb of ram I will definitely get higher whenever I upgrade.
How do you update the firmware on a Mac? I have 990 Pro 2TB in an Acasis Thunderbolt enclosure, but Samsung magician doesn't see the drive
Hummm I have never updated the software. Is that something I should be worried about? I can try to download the software and see if it work on my end.

@McCloud23892 no never played with software updates since I got it. It works never had issues so I an mot sure if I should chance anything. It's fast edit all my videos directly on it everyday since I do it using fcp no problem. Super consistent not like the p3 plus crucial I had previously.

Am sure it might not fit. You might not be able to close the enclosure if the heat sink is on the same side as where I put the heat pads. Regardless even with my configuration there's no drop in performance so I think even with the built-in heat sink you won't really have noticeable performance increase compared to how mine looks.

I believe you would need to format to the correct format of ps5 then install the software of ps5 or the easiest would simply be to make an identical copy of the ps5 ssd with the new 990 and install it to the ps5 to see if it works without any issues. Am not exactly sure of the process since I have not tried it on a ps5 (I don't have a ps5).
Does it fit 990 pro with heatsink?
Good question...I would say no unless you leave it open if the heat sink is on the top side. These are generally made to be small and take only flat plasticity thermal pads. The big heat sink my not fit. Mine did not come it it so I haven't tested that's why my response is not straight.
Hi just bought the Samsung 990 Pro 2tb I have only a laptop (asus expertbook b1500ceae) can I add externally to update the firmware or even check firmware with Samsung magician? Or shall I send back as the old firmware is broken x10 degradation. Cheers
Your question is not clear (1)
Do you want to use it as external or internal (2) being a sub doesn't give you immediate response to your questions (3). In my case it's an external ssd. I have not updated the software of the ssd since getting them 990 and 980. My Mac doesn't have Samsung magician I don't have a windows pc around to try Samsung magician and update the software or even try.

Sorry but there's too many comments here, on Instagram, tiktok and Facebook even if I was 3 person I cannot reply to everything impossible! I try my best that's all.
I wanted for it to be recognised by the bios as nvme like the internal, so I could use magician to upgrade as the 990 Pro and 980 have broken firmware, which degrades the device 10x faster than it should they have released new firmware to fix this. I wouldn't use them if I were you till you update the firmware fix as the damaged caused cant be undone, only stop it from continuing. Look it up bro as these are expensive, I'm sending mine back as I only have a laptop and can't update it as magician won't recognise as a ssd it just sees it as a generic usb device. I'm getting the wd sn850p for ps5. Plus I know you do your best haha 👍
@ttvenom thank you. Great info I did not know the firmware was that bad on the 990 and 980. Mine as external ssd worked well. I will see if I can find a way to update the software but it might work for me as it is already an external device. Maybe if you have it as primary internal it would not allow to update the firmware as if it goes wrong your whole laptop is ruined until you send the ssd back for them to recover and fix it.
