This playoff run changed the perception of Giannis. People Viewed him as a choker before 2021, and now everyone view him as an all time great, and one of the best players in the world. An all-time run. Edit: thx for the like
And it's sorta crazy because the post seasons surrounding it really aren't stellar. You obviously had the 2-0 lead they lost in 2019, losing to the Heat as a first seed in 2020, going out in the second round against the Celtics in 2022 (this one he really had no help though) and the huge upset by the Heat again in 2023. So in his 5 year run as an MVP calibre player, he's made just one final (and won), and one conference finals and been upset twice as a 1 seed. There's a lot of questions you can ask there, but because of that one ring in 2021 he's seen as a top playoff performer. And I'm not saying he isn't. I'm just saying that unless you're in discussion for GOAT talks where the scrutiny is higher, one ring really is all it takes to make your legacy set.
The 2021 playoffs as a whole is one of my favorite playoffs ever. Watching competitive basketball in late June and July was so much fun. To this day I think the NBA made a huge mistake not sticking to that schedule moving forward.
Watching this game made me fall in love with basketball. I had been learning about it from a friend and when the finals came I watched it. And now I'm consumed by basketball and it's all thanks to this man going off.
Don’t you dare say that about CP3 he is a totally honest and fair future hall of famer (I have to defend him, he’s on my team. Had you asked me a couple months ago, I would’ve agreed with you).

I stopped following the nba when kd joined gs but giannis made me love watching it again around 2019 and was supporting the bucks ever since. With that said, milwaukee got extremely lucky vs the nets with all the injuries and kd's foot on the line. Sad to say, it might be the only ring for giannis. Nevertheless, that gm6 50-piece was and always will be a masterpiece.

If only Middleton could have stayed healthy, they could 100% go back to back in the finals. Giannis took the bucks to 7 games vs Celtics in the semi-Finals.
You know looking back on it, every team that eliminated Giannis in the playoffs since his 1st mvp went on to play in the finals....Toronto, then Miami, then they won, then Boston and then Miami again. So it might be safe to say that if you eliminate the bucks in the playoffs you are most likely going to the nba finals lol
Giannis in 2021 put together the greatest single series performance during an NBA Finals this century. I know the narrative is that 2016 LeBron was better but I don't believe that. This man came back from a hyperextended knee injury in a span of a week which that alone is insane. Giannis was risking the entire prime of his career for a shot at that elusive championship. Not only did he stay healthy but in every single game he either scored 40 or more points or made one of the most iconic plays in NBA Finals History. In Game 1, he had that epic chase-down block on Mikal Bridges which mirrored LeBron blocking Iguodala in 2016. In Games 2 and 3 he had back to back 40 point games. In Game 4 he had "The Block Heard Round the World" which basically KO'd the Suns comeback hopes. In Game 5 he and Jrue Holiday had the legendary "Valley Oop" that sent the Footprint Center into a sting of shock. And finally, in Game 6, Giannis had the greatest single-game performance in a clinching game in Finals History. 50 points to end a 50-year title drought, as the Bucks dethroned Phoenix in front of a raucous crowd at Fiserv Forum. We've seen many great individual Finals performances before and since, but I'm not sure if we'll see a 2021 Giannis-type run for a long time.
I still can’t believe Chris Paul tried to take Giannis out of the air on that dunk. It was egregious at the time, but it’s still crazy to watch that back. He did a full sprint 2 hand push, if Giannis didn’t hang on the rim he would’ve fell flat to the ground.
I have a picture saved in my phone that I will keep forever of the stats heading into the 4th quarter of game 6 of the 2021 finals. Giannis 37 points on 12/21 shooting. Rest of the Bucks 40 points on 15/44 shooting. Game tied 77-77. Giannis willed the Bucks to that championship. One of the greatest and clutchest performances you’ll ever see.
Not bad for a guy who people said can only run and dunk. You know who I'm talking about. AND IT FELT NICE TO HAVE AN NBA FINALS WHERE PEOPLE COULD JUST ACTUALLY WATCH BASKETBALL AND NOT DEAL WITH ENTERTAINMENT NONSENSE!
I heard someone said giannis was too young to be included in the top 75 and i just loled at the thought of it since shaq had less accolades when he was in the top 50 back in 96 And added that giannis won his first ring late in his career that's why he didn't deserve to be in the list while other greats didn't even have one made my head hurt lmao I get the hate and disrespect though
I remember Chris Paul thinking he got fouled in game 6 and he was walking to the ref to say his grievance, but Jrue Holiday cut him off and laughing in his face. I'll always remember that as Jrue Holiday stopping Chris Paul from complaining his way to a ring.

as a bucks fan, that playoffs felt different, the previous in 18/19 we got a little excited, best in the east hyped, covid was just weird but this playoffs felt like pure dog mentality, and the close out game was a masterpiece of that. i truly wish for all smaller market teams to be able to experience something like that at least once.
How is game 6 not talked about as being one of the best performances ever?
Back then, I wanted Book to win that ring so bad. But I gotta respect Giannis. Bro was prime shaq
Bucks will win again this year trust 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Ayo the goats back at the farm with this one b0ss
You didnt mention the brook lopez game, how dare you
1st Year I moved to PHX I was able to experience Game 5 in person & was absolutely incredible. Love both these teams so I was happy to see this matchup, I was rooting for the Suns but couldn’t be mad if it went the other way. One of the best games I’ve ever attended and will always remember the energy of that stadium that night.
Can you make a video on Michael penix Jr vs the university of Oregon
its impossible to hate giannis
Appreciate this video guys Im a big Giannis Fan
Suns out guns out💪
Please do a video on lebron kyrie 2016
Bucks in 6 baby!
I honestly don't understand the notion of the bubble being a fluke or mickey when every team had the same advantage. It was the closest to an even playing field as we've ever had. Shortened season for everyone, no home court advantage.
The Suns have a bit of a history of being stomped by Europeans
Deer district was crazyyyyy
Giannis was ON A MISSION that night
Big man tings!
It doesn’t get talked about bc he crashed 2 parties. It was the Brooklyn future dynasty. Then the CP3 legacy ring. And KD stans love to hold onto injuries n the KD shot. Nobody wanted to see the Giannas ring. But you gotta respect it.
1:35 those segments in 2018-20 with Paul Pierce and Chauncey were so fucking funny. Paul's absolutely delusional takes, closely followed by Chauncey mocking him 😂
Ill never forget the "is steph a better shooter than you" question
Chauncey: yes!
*silence*
Paul: IMMA SAY NO
It’s always funny whenever you guys say BUT that it’s just a picture of Kyle Lowry
If it was real he would’ve been able to replicate that performance. Problem is he was helped out by selective officiating and a Global Marketing Campaign…! 🤷♂️👎😤🤦♂️#NBAIsAssNow
