Have the TR100 coming in today, I think the look is interesting, reminds me of a futuristic iteration of older computer cases. It's really retro in my opinion. I plan to mod the riser mount with standoffs for the RTX 5080 FE pass-through. The LCD looks like old CRT tube television. Fun. Minimalist cases are great but lets have some fun once in a while lol
Honestly with all these sandwich cases in the market like the Fractal Terra, Formd T1 etc, I feel like the only way to actually sell these new cases is to lower the price. I’m still waiting for the day I either snipe a used Fractal Terra Jade/Black for $100, or a case manufacturer releases one for this price.
The TR100 front aesthetic with theh LCD really reminds me of those old CRT computer setups and I quite dig it. What do you think? I also agree this looks quite beginner friendly and has some nice airflow and a transparent acoustic profile. I might actually recommend it toi a friend if they decide to go 240mm AIO cooling for an SFF build.
I think this is one of the best SFF cases because it has a good filter that is hard to find in other SFF cases. However, I am concerned about the lack of a filter at the bottom. There is a fairly large hole that bugs can get in. I wish they had blocked the hole in the PCI slot that is big enough to fit a finger joint. Of course, there is a way to modify it, but I mean I wish they had put a little more thought into the design. I think it would have been better if it had 4 PCI slots. For example, for thick products like the Aorus Master. And I wish they would remove the 2 lines of guides blocking the PCI slots. If you look at Thermaltake cases, there are many cases that have PCI slot guides, but they are sometimes inconvenient. I don't know why they keep insisting on the slot guide issue when it is not the first time. I also wish they would release a derivative model that supports ATX, M-ATX motherboards for this low-profile case. I think SFF builds are very limited and perverted builds, but overall I think it is a great case.
Hi! The TUF card shown at 18:36 , is that a 7900XTX by any chance? Trying to work out if it will fit with the official recommendation being 70mm of GPU thickness but the TUF 7900XTX coming in at 72.6 according to spec.
Hey buddy, I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been doing research on this case for over a month and have one on the way to do a build from what I understand. The unofficial width is 73 mm now I can’t say for sure but I have been doing a ton of research and scouring the Internet and that’s pretty much what I’ve come up with..
@@jtvercetti4076thanks for sharing, that sounds like good news. I have preordered and will give it a try. I am also like 90% certain the card at 18:36 is the 72.6mm thick one. I checked out all TUF cards using that design and there is no other one that is close to or slightly above 70mm.
I can't guarantee it will fit but I measured 72mm to the edge of the lip of the case where the GPU will touch. So it might physically fit - but I would not do it for the reason that the fans will be flush up against the panel, which can cause unwanted turbulence induced noise. The card I showed in the Era is the 4070 super.
Thanks for the reply! That puts a wrench in my plan for sure. The 4070 Super TUF is only 63mm thick and in your video it looks like it is already right up against the outer wall. Will have to look for another case then unfortunately :(
I really wish the spine was adjustable and there was room for case fans. Thermaltake has been on a roll lately with their cases but I’m not sold on the tr100
Was looking for this case since last year. But now i'm looking for Jonsbo d32 which is not buch bigger but can fit mATX board, ATX psu, and 3 120mm fans underneath the gpu.
Sure. Within the officially supported specs the best would be the ID Cooling IS-67 or Thermalright AXP120-67. I don't expect the thermals to be different, they should be good since it is sandwich style with two case fans, but haven't tested the setup specifically yet.
@@MachinesMore thanks! I have been waiting for this case since last year and will be building my first pc by end of this year. your video really helps!
@@MachinesMore I really like the mesh front and front connectors compared to the nr200p .. But not sure if It's worth swapping out just for that. I'm using the 2x 120mm "slim fan hack" you made a video about 4 years ago and that works really well as exhaust, despite I mounted the case under my desk with 5cm clearence of space. I doubt the tr100 would have enough clearence to use the top as intake with this kind of mounting solution 🤔 Looking forward to see how it handles the 5080 or 5090 when you get your hands on those 😊
You are correct. The rad + fans (63mm) are too thick since the TR100 secures the riser cable with a plate - to that point (hard stop) it's about 60mm, but my riser bulged beyond that point as well.
I was gonna buy this.... but it wont fit the 7900xtx red devil from power color. the gpu is just a tad too big. and with gpu's only getting bigger, its a bad buy. got the jonsbo d32 pro instead.
@@MachinesMore Is the one you have shown at 18:35 a 7900XTX? Trying to fit that but its officially 72.6mm thick... Would be so cool to fit that card into this case!
TT needs to stop trying to implement their horrible lcd screen everywhere. It always looks out of place, it always looks dated. The bezzle has to total the same size of the actual screen.
The front design reminds me of 90s towers. They just need to make one in beige.
I’d unironically buy a beige one
@@TheChi3423 Absolutely.
@@TheChi3423 I'd buy it ironically
Would also buy beige immediately.
it would be so awesome
You're such a chill dude - your reviews are as smooth as the accompanying soft jazz.
Thanks again for yet another detailed, clear, no nonsense review. I'm not in the market for a case, but I do enjoy your videos

💯fun
What color did you get :D
@ black and white
I’m sold on this retro looking case
It's neat to see the case design in depth, thanks!
Damn from the video this case almost looked like a retro beige color
Great video! Cant wait to build in mine soon!

i like that it has LED for drive to see if it is doing something, on top of that reset button
Yes, drive led
I like the colours, but I think I'll stick with my OG NR200.
if they sill made the original design it would still be flying of the shelves
I simply can’t switch to something that doesn’t support tower coolers lol
This fuckin U12A will stay with me forever smh
I hope they make the console colorway its kinda nostalgic.
Can you test the 67mm cpu air cooler in this case with top intake or exhaust to see how is the thermal? I'm quite curious.
Missed opportunity for a 5.25 bay up top
Hah

A 3.5 drive bay? What year is it?

This is the case I want to buy.
Do you have any recommendations for the air cooler? What should be the expected temps and noise? Thanks for the great review

Pretty much the same volume.

Only difference is that the motherboard faces outwards
How about a GIF or JPEG of a 3.5" floppy drive on the 3.9'' LCD Screen display? 🤭 Retro dude, Retro!
You know, I might just have to
are there any sff that can fit 420mm rad?
So is this easy to drop a 4090 strix and 280 rad into it?
Indeed they can all fit. That's basically why it's as big as it is.
I would imagine this case would not fit the Liquid Freezer 2 or 3 ? (240-280mm)
You are correct. The rad + fans (63mm) are too thick since the TR100 secures the riser cable with a plate - to that point (hard stop) it's about 60mm, but my riser bulged beyond that point as well.
@@MachinesMore yeah couple mm more and this cas could have been a bit better for compatibility !
@@MachinesMore 52mm thick can be fit in top! (( be quiet! Light Loop 240 mm ))
Does this case support Arctic Liquid Freezer III 280m? (Since the rad of this AIO is thick)
You are right, it will be too thick.
15:25 1250rpm is not an idle speed lol
The rad fans are at 1250. GPU is idling.
Really hope this case comes to EU as well
good case for a Noctua build
This case looks so nice but the price in Japan is 3x the Lian Li Dan a3 case, and I'm not sure if I could pay that much.
Wow that's nuts!
They missed the opportunity to make it a more conventional layout to accommodate a beefier air cooler and negate the need for riser cable
If they a made a full-sized ATX or larger case with the same (retro-futuristic) design style I'd probably replace my current case with it.
I was gonna buy this.... but it wont fit the 7900xtx red devil from power color. the gpu is just a tad too big. and with gpu's only getting bigger, its a bad buy. got the jonsbo d32 pro instead.

i agree and must included mesh panel for replacement lcd panel spot.
WTF, they put a screen on my CD-ROM drive?!
😆
I think Thermaltake has never had matcha if that color is what they think matcha looks like.
LCD is way too small, come on it's 2025, LCDs are dirt cheap. Why so stingy? It's already super tiny plus super huge bezels.
I agree, kind of steep for what you get.
Wtf is that rectangle on the front? Are you telling me this SFF case has a 5.25 drive bay???
Edit: oh nvm its an ugly ass screen.
wow that is ugly.
L taste unfort
