Jude Johnson it is not a bootleg it’s a fan made game (stupidmariobrosfan helped with this) and the guy who did this game is remaking it again with accurate models he remade the donkey Kong one and instead of using a png he made a model with custom animations
I would’ve loved to see an actually good HD remake of SMB2 since it’s one of my favorite games, my favorite of the NES Mario games. At least I’m very happy with the GBA version, it’s near perfection (with a color patch)!

It was a great choice Nintendo made and has had a big influence on Mario. SMB2 also has many improvements over doki doki panic and doki doki panic only released in Japan in the first place.

I think that the game looks great and it shows how much effort was there to make it awesome. Nevertheless, after playing so many Mario games I can say that this game doesn’t feel like a true Mario game. The person or persons who created this are very talented. You just need to refine the game style.

After all, it isn't that easy to make mechanics change everytime you switch the game. So please give them a break. Atleast they tried to make something enjoyable for everyone
