It really has to be something amazing have Obsidian as a friend who just pops in to play some of the KoK music xD Tell him, he's awesome on album or live alike. But he already knows it, I suppose ;o)
You know, the sound of your strings sounds cool together with the distortion in the back. It's like an acoustic guitar over a black metal chaos. Fucking awesome!! Maybe they'll make a song like that on some of the future albums? That would be awesome!! Cheers to you and Obsidian from Croatia!!
@Morkagraven : Get your facts straight :) Obsidian C has been in KoK for as long as they've existed (since the early 90's), he is a live musician for Satyricon (he was at least, not sure if he still is). Satyricon consists of Satyr and Frost, anyone else is a live / session member :)
Please, ask Obsidian Claw to make even one tabulature of KoK song (with Guitar Pro 5 or other stuff or handwritten tab ;p). It's difficult to hear all notes.
lol when i wrote it i just meant the sound from my soon-to-be 15 year old stereo system which the sound is coming out from :) might as well remove it i guess.
@b3nf1tzg3ra1d firts of all, kudos for not making this into yet another internet fight :) I started playing in -88 and have been playing on and off since, in all kinds of settings. What I meant to say was that if you put Steve Vai or Yngwie on this setup, it's not really going to sound much better than this. A good rig can't compensate crap playing, but there are certain points where a great player just can't make a rig sound good, as in this case of a $200 rig at bedroom level.
+MIR the "you can't compare two different styles" argument is weak at best...on one hand, I understand where people are coming from with that, but on the other, every guitar player is "different" soo.....
+Isan Simpson I don't think it's a weak argument at all. Art critics don't sit around debating who was the better painter between Rembrandt and Picasso; stylistically they're too far apart to warrant that discussion; likewise any comparison between Zakk and Obsidian C. Both are great guitarists doing their own thing and kicking ass at it, that's all that needs to be said.
Here is a link to a few great tabs on a few of their songs (including this one). Though not all the tabs for the songs but it should help you out! 911tabs.com/tabs/k/keep_of_kalessin/
