I carry mine when at work. I fix tractor-trailers as a mobile mechanic. I don't believe that I would survive a fight at the OK corral. I do believe that crackhead eyeballing me and my van of tools as an easy target won't be such an easy target. It's a derringer, and as long as you know that, and use it as such, it will serve you well. It has served me well. I like it.
Main feature that I purchased the "Switch Gun" for my wife is, No recognizable imprinting in any pocket ! My wife can carry this gun wearing just about anything, and it doesn't have a recognized imprint ! With practice, the "Switch Gun" can be drawn, and ready to fire as you bring it out of your pocket ! Remember, I said "with practice" ! Repetition, repetition, repetition ! Practice, practice, practice ! Before you even think about loading this little gun, take the time to get comfortable drawing and ready to fire ! Bring it out of your pocket, locating the hammer, and trigger quickly ! Then, re-fold it, and back in your pocket ! And deploy it again, quickly ! Being comfortable with finding the hammer, and trigger ! This is a solid little gun ! It's not a toy ! It's extremely well made, I bought it specifically for my wife to wear while she is at work and doesn't want, and CAN'T have it show an imprint ! This is a last ditch, close-in, back-up gun in most cases ! A five to seven foot last chance to save your life gun !
I've been considering this one. The barrel is short and it's single action BUT it would be very easy to conceal and quick to deploy. It's not a primary carry but I could see using it if I needed a threat to stop doing what they're doing and get away from me.
In the same volume, you could carry numerous other choices, with far better ballistics. S&W BodyGuard, Kahr CW380, Ruger LCPII, and maybe a few others. The Khar being the smallest and still very high quality.
this is a logical concealed carry revolver, the life card is fine, but this is an improvement, it may be single action, but multiple shots quickly, and is one handed use, with practise, you could probably deploy and shoot it fast as lightning
I just got one of these for a pocket gun. I haven't fired it yet but everything about it seems solid. It's far too cumbersome to load (reload) in a dire situation so make the first five count seems to be the order of the day. Whoever first referred to it as their 'Get off me gun' seems appropriate. I would have liked to have seen some type of tritium sight in the groove but it is what it is. 4.5 stars from me so far.

It's legit, maybe your friend did not get it from a reputable dealer I don't know. I keep it in the hidden compartment on the dash panel of my C7 Z06 Corvette in case of an emergency and I can't get to one of my primary arms. @@jackmurtieta9843
This is excellent. Ought to be a great option for everyone. The only concern would be that hammer, might snag. Might be better if were a bit more streamlined.
Assuming it works! As an option, yes. Its better than a rock...The issue WMR provides nothing over regular 22L due to the short barrel. And the Short Barrell is going to cause velocity issues with 22LR too.
I definitely agree that there will probably be no ballistic advantage of WMR over LR but given how loud this thing will be, it might increase the chances of getting a psychological stop when you start lighting off a couple rounds out of that 3/4 inch barrel.
They say don't fire 22L in wmr. But I have done it millions of times all that happens is the case swells a little bit or cracks. It can't damage anything.
I may get one as a novelty but I don't see myself carrying it. It would however be better than the single shot life card. Thanks for the video and keep shooting.
i just got mine today. Its pretty much a get off me gun. I was accurate out to 3 yds, had a good tight group but out to 5, its not accurate at all...but still a great lil gun.
Got this as a Christmas gift and I have concerns that the hammer could be pulled while it's folded and possibly have enough force to fire a round. That means it COULD fire a round in your pocket without pulling the trigger (simply by hammer action) can you please correct me if I'm wrong?
Since you actually have one. And also have that concern, you could go to the range, load, and without deploying the grip try thumb the hammer with the rest of your hand safely out of the way and see if it fires. I heard there is a midway notch to rest the banner in but that would be more for drop protection I believe.
if you NEED more than 5, you should consider a change in lifestyle. if you open fire, with ANYTHING, everyone within earshot is getting down or/and out. if they're pressing an attack, after you've opened fire, they're soldiers, hired assassins or psychopaths and they want YOU. you probably should have known, if you've got these kinds of guys mad at you.
Because the trigger is covered, can the firearm be folded with the hammer cocked? While typing the question I realize the force from opening the gun may set the hammer off.
I don't think I'd want to depend on this gun to save my life in a sticky situation... However at the novelty gun I think it's cool. " Did Harvey's pet mouse look at you cross-eyed again? I'll blow them away with my fold-up gun as soon as I get to handle down hold on...." 🚫😂 😇
A neat little gun. You don't have a little gun for accuracy. Get one for your sweety and have her train with it. Or carry it yourself. It's not for the purist. Maybe carry it at church 😇. Thanks for this video, made me happy to subscribe!
I would never carry it as my primary self defense. It would make a good little back up last resort handgun …before the knife is used for a really bad situation.
My biggest problem with this design is that it adds a new motion that isn't necessary or really natural in a self defense situation. Unfolding this doesn't seem as natural as flipping off a safety and that could trip you up if you need to actually use the gun.
Overpriced. Should cost any more than the micro NAA revolvers and the NAA's are a time-proven super up close last-ditch type of firearm. At this price Standard Manufacturing is ripping you off.

smart thinking. I got mine coming in 3 days. Just like the saying, "a 22 in the pocket is better than a 45 in the car."
Love mine. So easy to conceal carry. Just walking the dogs or getting my mail, easy to carry with no weight. My wife also enjous it. Fun to shoot!
this would be perfect if it was double action
Thanks for the review. As a practitioner of pocket carry and a fan of .22 magnum I can see beneficial uses for this revolver.

Great design. Some of us we just want to have a gun small enough to carry not necessarily accurate but to pull the gun out for personal defense
This is excellent. Ought to be a great option for everyone.

A 22lr model for ~$200 would make this pistol very competitive I believe

Enjoyed this review. North American Arms makes a folding grip holster for its revolvers that I'm a fan of. Would like to see you review one.
Very clever design. Great presentation. 👍I just subscribed to your channel.

Not sure why I would need it but still very cool. Good job innovating standard manufacturing!

I imagine it takes like 10 pounds of force to move the hammer no?
@@sdelcegno the hammer can travel about 40% of the way when it's folded in my opinion

Is there a left hand version of the switch gun? Try working in left hand when test and commenting.

It's not too different from a folding knife I reckon.
Yeah but it's super easy to just throw in your pocket. So where as some might not bring protection at all now the option is even easier.
Any idea if anyone has come out with a clip for it yet?
