Finally got it up and running. The only delays we had was because we realized we needed some extra parts (I’ll list that below) th-cam.com/users/postUgkxihMYiJNXcHdbH-7ihymsLz61l7jVyb5O . So we have a loft where our current hvac just couldn’t seem to keep cool during the summer. We have been using a window unit since we bought this house over 6 years ago (all the houses in this neighborhood were built in the 80’s and majority of the houses built like ours use a window unit). I hate window units because they are just so noisy and the one we had really only cools one side of the loft. I had contemplated upgrading our current HVAC, but with all the rising prices these days, it would take years before saving up enough to do that. With the advice of my father-in-law (used to run an HVAC business), he recommended we get an inverter instead. We thought we bought everything we needed, but there were just a few other parts we didn’t anticipate needing (which is what caused most of our delay). My friend and father-in-law did all the work to get it installed and running and now we have nice cool air circulating nicely throughout the entire loft. It is very quiet and even the outside unit is much quieter than our main HVAC unit. Saved ourselves thousands getting this.
If you have an older home that is not sealed with Gorilla Glue, you may have to upgrade your insulation. Now that's where it gets a little bit more expensive.
Like the gentleman below stated, in most cases you CAN'T use an existing central air system for a new Heat Pump system. A reputable company measures the needs or your house. There are highly reliable resources that support proper measurement & calculations. Placement of the vents will probably be different too. I just had an estimate... If you do a deep dive Google search you can verify these comments. Also, a lot of guys will try to sell you a ductless system because it's an easier install for them. Beware it might or might not be the best configuration for you.
Not one warning about possible inadequate ductwork. From what I'm hearing heat pumps need to push about 4x the air volume vs say a gas based forced air furnace. That's what's stopped me in my tracks unfortunately.
Not sure where you heard that, but it's not true with today's inverter systems. It may have been the case in past years when the technology wasn't very well developed.
No you are not, you are switching from burning fairly clean burning NG/Propane, to relying on an electric company which if they are intelligent are burning coal to generate electricity, which needs millions to scrub their exhaust. And do not even bring up: Solar, Wind, (not reliable, major problem is storage of electrical current, from times of good sun, or brisk wind, to days those conditions do not apply.) Electrical storage systems absolutely are bad. Even if you are willing to drive around with a future one ton toxic waste dump contribution under your feet, in the trunk, on top of the car wherever green-neks have em
The electric company making this video is in BC. If you look it up, 87% of electricity in BC is produced by hydroelectric sources (then 5% biomass, 4% wind, and the last 4% in NG/petroleum products/solar). By your standards of intelligence, it doesn’t look like BC cuts it.
And even us C@NTS here in Alberta will eventually convert to Renewable energy Once we get rid of the UCP and their completely Illegal Ban on Renewable energy plants, if you can't win on logic ...just ban your competition ...corrupt politicians, what else is new Cause HOLY F@CK its getting hot !!!!!! Battery storage like all technology will get much better and cheaper and at least we won't be burning 100 Barrels of oil to produce 1 barrel of Saleable oil in the Tar-sands which is a Crime against Humanity......you Dunce !
Dude your the most excited about heat pumps, hands down.

What was the total cost to you?
I have a 1950s house with a hot aor oil furnace and large duct work with returns in every room. How do i make this work.

Appears that Daikin has the best warranty with 12 years parts including the compressor, and 6 years labor.
Would a heat pump be worth it if there is already an electric furnace ?
The upside is 4 times lower running cost, the ability to cool as well as heat, humidity control. The downside is the install cost.
Looks like bc heat pump could be more useful to usa's cold winter weather ❄
Bchydro your hellsangels buddies gona feel the cold❄ better equip your friends ...

this video is super creepy
totally useless.
You just wasted 3 minutes of my life on utterly useless information
