Got one of these free from an old work colleague who was retiring and moving. It's sooooo nice. If anyone comes across a tidy working one with decent stylus (preferably genuine p22) then grab it!
@@samuelg7673 Thanks for replying, no biggie, not important - - personally I like linear trackers - I have a PX2 from the old days, a Harry Pearson favorite - one of the keys to it's design is that yes, it is a linear tracker but it has a pivoting tone arm so some of the problems that come from a pure linear tracker are circumvented. Sort of a "best of both worlds" design. It's a direct drive - I believe it was one of the first direct drive tables that addressed the "cogging" thing - it's got a gigantic motor in it that, along with some other clever engineering, helps mitigate that issue.
@@samuelg7673 Ai , the coment is like diminishing your work but sound comparisons on youtube are phisically impossible anything sounds good if well caught but quality wise is all the same with some litle equalization changes ,a cheap smart-phone can sound the same as the P10 from Rega using the sofware from radio garden with some jazz channels of french on-line stations ,i tried it and voi-lá, it seems no one understand the concept of youtube sound and it´s written for all to understand but what to do? Once someone told me "NO! i have some mark levinson bla bla bla and bla bla bla speakers conected, so i hear a lot of diference between cartridges" that why i say this. The guy knows the brands but no notion about sound .
I purchased mine from Wisconsin Discount Stereo 1980,I was in the USAF ,my 1st and only P mount ,I loved it, I sold it to an admirer and brought a Dual 606 ,my 1st dual model. I switched to ortofon cartridges from then on .Nice unit.
