I thought this was the set of CARNEY. The movie he did with Jodi Foster and Gary Busey. Robbie did the music Martin Scorcese(?)..Great old campy film. All the performers are REAL carney legends.
Napoleon… Indeed… Interesting how Rock’n’Roll and film meshes super creative egos like Scorsese and RR… RR is pretty much admitting Scorsese had him under a narco-hypnotic spell whether either of them knew it or not TLW is, indeed, spellbinding… It’s a glorious vision pulled from a bunch of 30 something musos falling apart but with a hell of a story to tell
@@SheilaIbbotson Yes, it is Testimony, it is fascinating. He talks about his childhood, which less than ideal, had a physically abusive stepdad and not much money. Anyway, I won't give any more away. If you are also a fan of The Band as a group, you might want to read Barney Hoskyns biography of The Band, "Across the Great Divide' it gives a little more balanced view, since he is writing about the whole group.
@hannejeppesen1809 Thank you Hanne I will look out for the Barney Hoskyns book. I have recently watched "once were brothers". Really good . Much appreciate you replying x
Those of us who are Robbie fans, don't think so. Not fake, but I think he was stoned. Robbie was more intellectual (which is not the same as intelligent, I think all the Band members were intelligent, although some were self destructive) and the others, to some that might come off as fake. He didn't even finish high school, but read a lot, so basically self taught.
Rest in POWER, ROBBIW ROBERTSON and sincere thanks foe all the music and activism x!
I would love to be a fly on the wall when they recorded 4% Pantomime
This is gold. Thank you so much.
never say robbie mad like this, love it
Listen to this and tell me they make good music these days!
It's not just the sound. It's the feeling
Sure am missin’ you
That was heavy man. Heavy.

The movie is available here on UTube, and Robbie is gorgeous in it, never looked better and that is saying a lot.
I think Robbie is funny here, I'm sure he is stoned, but he is funny describing Scorsese and how he directs.
very similar to “crazy love”

completely blown the f*ck out

Years revivo
Absolutely coked out lol
Has Robbie been on the white stuff, the liquid stuff, the funny cigarette or a bit of everything?? ❤
A bit of everything, according to his book, except heroin. Love him.
@hannejeppesen1809 yes I love him too. Which book I'd that? "TESTIMONY"? I've got it but not had chance start it x

My ex boyfriend's name is Robbie Robertson after this guy
If he looked like Robbie you were very lucky, even if he is and ex.
What is the girls name? X
I feel like I saw the last meaningful coke party in history
Agree! 😅
VPIB
Who's the girl??
Did you ever find out who the blond girl is?
@@hmicky-mickey yes

Who's the blonde?
I don't care: Robbie was smoking hot!
@@meb2126 He was incredibly sexy at this time.

@Disco Fever I did but I still don't see it. Jawlines and eyes look too different. Have a specific one you can link to?
who was this Peter Hayden guy? Can't find anything about him. You get the sense he's had enough of Robbie by this point, and perhaps vice versa
Peter Hayden a British filmmaker
he was the director of THE LAST WALTZ , PETER HAYDEN
Robbie trashed doesn't make him a bad guy
No it makes him adorable.
This is part of a Documentary??
This is part of life.
Awful..
How so
I'm sorry but .... Even when he talk he sound fake . I will always love more levon helm or richard manuel talking music and life than robertson

Not to bash Robbie or anything, but look at him; he's drunk, he stinks, he's full of himself...
i know, but good looking and cool though huh?
You write not to bash Robbie, and then you go on doing just that. They all did drugs at that time.
Yea, he could have been you. So, theres that
