His producer John Cunningham said this was “just a story he wanted to tell”. It’s still very very eerie considering he made within a month of his death
Not to mention how sad it was because it matched how he died in a way. The saddest part was him saying “could’ve had a son or a daughter now what you gonna do”🥲 bro didn’t get to see his kid
@@MrDreamMods He also said winter clothes in the summer. As he was wearing a big ass jacket in the middle of summer. Idk man something hit me hard and really off about this song but just gotta celebrate the life he has and appreciate it.
To start the three songs I will speak about are correlated to one another in this order. In the 2017 XXL Cypher, X, balefully raps about what his approach to an apocalypse which was deeply callous and indifferent for human life. He claims that "I seen the devil, He's in you and me" meaning he's seen first hand what evil is and how we all have the potential to be and do evil. He continues rapping about how to murder or an anecdote of him murdering someone (it's inconclusive whether or not he was speaking figuratively or literally here). Further, he boldly makes his first claim of his allegiance to the devil publicly "I am a murderer. I am a demon. Son of a Serpent" alluding to the biblical reference of the Snake (devil) in the Garden of Eden. At the end, he makes us question our own faith by asking "have you felt acknowledgment?" (referring to God) and asking "If I kill you now. Will you go to heaven or hell you believe in?" Then in his next song, "I spoke to the devil in Miami, he said everything would be fine" he illustrates his experience (through various biblical references, i.e. Shepard, Wolf, the apple from the Forbidden Tree of Knowledge) how he was lead... but also willingly.... descended into making a covenant with a "baphomet" a.k.a "the devil." The baphomet would "save him" and give him what he desired most, which was a remedy to his depression, obsession, anxiety, confusion, lust, vanity and sadness. Through wealth, power, women and influence. In return, X, would surrender his "anima vestra" to the baphomet which in Latin means "Your Soul" (here he affirms and confesses although reluctantly and regrettably his allegiance to the devil). After X made the deal, he began to realize that through his confusion and fast pace lifestyle that was given to him by the baphomet he was deceived and in reality he was never going to be "saved" even with all the "remedies" the baphomet gave him. At the end of the song, he repeats "anima vestra" several times in a way that shows clear regret, disbelief, and humiliation in his decision with the baphomet. In his final song (I find this one to be the most tragic and eerie of the three) , "Train Food" you hear the sound of a train braking in a busy train station, foot steps and people talking in the back. X, starts by saying he remembers that day (when he made the deal with the devil), The piano then plays in a melancholic and insidious melody. "I remember I had walked home that day. Content with all my misery. Told myself it'd get better, no clue what there was next for me. Remember there was people, walkin', talkin' in the distance. I was dressed for winter weather. But the summer rays were kissing me, I-I was lost." Here he is in clear distress and in doubtful hope that everything would figure itself out and he would be alright. Having no real idea of what he just did. It continues, "So I took a different path. In the distance he awaited me. Had no weapon, I'm guessin' his hands were just enough for me. Was no question, I'm guessin' he laughed just at the sight of me. I was lost." This is where things start to get foul, the ominous person he is referring to here is the same man he made a deal with in Miami, the baphomet. As he took a different path home, the baphomet awaited X and stared at him with devilish ignominy...he is enjoying the fact that X fell for his deception. It continues, And there he was, his presence was alarming. As he approached, was casual, we talked 'bout self-harming. He told me, "Kid, you shouldn't be walkin' on your own". He smiled and laughed, and pat my back. He asked, "How far are you from home?". I said, "Maybe 30 minutes". His frequency distorted quick, I seen it in his image. I should've run right fucking there, a-" The baphomet then approached X in an arrogant and prideful attitude he patronizes X and talks about self harm and how its dangerous to be walking alone and treats him as a naïve foolish kid. As he asked X how far are you from home and he replied 30 mins, it was immediately then the mans demeanor and aura change into something vile and sinister, X, regrets not running that very moment. It is then in the song that X is pushed onto the train tracks his tone changes and he begins to yell in fear and anger fueled by regret. The baphomet revealed his true nature...ungodly and evil and now he is here to collect his part of the deal. The train itself is a representation of death. The final Verse, "You ever woke up on a train track, with no motherfuckin' clothes on? Death before your eyes, you prayin' to God, but ain't no response. Tryna scream for hope, just a shoulder that you can lean on. But ain't nobody comin', so you scream on and scream on and scream on. While this evil fuck laugh at you. Train getting closer, you still surprised that he battered you. Tears falling harder and harder, minutes get minuscule. Could've had a son or a daughter, now what you finna do? You finna die here on this train track. 'Cause clearly after death, ain't no way you can find your way back. Thinking 'bout your previous memories, going way back. All them fucking dreams 'bout a diamond chain and a Maybach. Now your time finally up. Ask yourself this final question, is you going down or up?. Recollectin' all the moments that you never gave a fuck. Now it's here, death has now arrived, time's finally up." As X helplessly and tearfully lies on the train tracks bloody and beaten up, he hears the train coming signifying his impending doom. He looks up to see the baphomet laughing at him. He calls for help to no avail, he calls for God, but he is alone as he made to decision to surrender his allegiance to the baphomet (his new God). He proceeds to regret the decisions he made, how he could've had a son or daughter and reminisces when the times were simpler. He regrets and thinks about whether it was worth giving up his soul for a "diamond chain and a Maybach" ( reference to the "remedies" the baphomet offered him in Miami) and how him not caring (nihilism) lead to his demise. Even in these moments his is still in disbelief that the baphomet deceived and betrayed him. We see the juxtaposition between the first time he questioned his belief in heaven and hell in his naïve arrogance in the first song and now in this song he faces reality and questions whether he is going to heaven or hell knowing the evil he has witnessed. Unfortunately, he doesn't have time to answer his question as "now it's here, death has now arrived, time's finally up." In honor of X, may he rest in peace.
Another couple of suggestions for slightly longer and different songs- Save Me, Slipknot, Orlando, The Remedy For a Broken Heart and Supra, there’s so many more man🤣🤣just tryna put u on some more of him👌🏽Lovin the X reactions Atm🔥keep up the good work my guy💯
i fw you, i like how you reacted to this, i see so many reactions underappreciate the lyrics and the song as a complete artwork - you take your time with it, imma subscribe honestly
Also if you watch the documentary his mom suggested to let him call security but he said no, then the fact that he said “he told me kid you shouldn’t be walking on you own” I’m guessing he was saying that he shouldn’t be anywhere without security . 2:36
If you try and read into the lyrics he could be rapping metaphorically about how he was feeling with the whole Geniva situation while predicting his death. We’ll never know, but we do know this song is deeper than the surface, may he rest in peace ❤
bro im going to be honest, you should read my comment when you reacted to riot. You should not react to any of his new songs before reacting to his old ones, and Interviews! TRUST ME! First song: News/flock then work your way up please :)
