For the crash pads, it really does help. Being a Lacrosse goalie for 7 years and football for 4 years. You don't notice you want them until you take a hit and notice you didn't feel much. The tailbone especially, if that breaks you are just gone. Who cares about the hips, but the tailbone pad is the big money.

I would 1000% wear the crash pants. Last season I was simply riding switch and took what seemed like the most casual fall ever but ended up breaking my tail bone by landing on it just right. Literally couldn’t get out of my bed for 2 weeks, couldn’t ride in comfort for basically the rest of the season and couldn’t do sit ups for the next 6 months Bc of the pain. I’ve been wearing some ever since and literally don’t even know they are on anymore. I do live on the east coast though and it gets icy af.

Dear Casey! I'm from Russia and I really love watching your vlogs. I have a question that I've been wanting to ask for a very long time. How do you ride in such a thin jacket, aren't you cold? At what maximum low temperature did you skate? It's just that in Siberia in winter -26 degrees Celsius is normal
It’s all about the layers fam. A good hoodie / fleece with something to break the wind is all you need if you got everything nice, snug, and sealed up. I’d assume he was snowboarding in around 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit
