Honestly my first date was to Dunkin’ Donuts because we were around 16 and no car. I was the happiest girl. I think it just depends on your age, situation, and how you go about making the first date. I think social media has unfortunately ruined the natural flow of dating in general. The bar seems to be set so high BUT only because, we saw a video on TikTok saying “ if you don’t have a live harp player and lobster on a yacht on your 1st date wyd” it an innocent video sure. But it plants the seed subconsciously of that expectation and in turn when the opportunity of a first date arises and its anything but you’re immediately turned off your focus is not on the person its on “what could he have done better” ,” I dont want to post the cheesecake factory on my story” “ I should be on a rooftop somewhere” and boom just like that something that could have been is ruined by these ridiculous expectations. A date should be fun organic it should flow ofcourse a fancy ambiance is a plus but not a necessity. My husband took me to a dingy hookah place on our first date We both hate hookah lol and it was so bad but the conversation was there the laughter was flowing and I fell in love with him right then and there. We should all stop focusing on the “post worthy” shit because its all fake and focus in being present and open to love.

I think the first date gives the first impression on the person so it’s important to make it a good one. It’s also ok to have standards.. especially if you’re 25+ because you’re probably not new to the dating world and haven’t had the best luck. So if you’ve been talking to someone and you’re finally going on a first date with them taking them somewhere nice (doesn’t have to be expensive) can make a really good first impression. But it really is so individual and what each person likes.

A man will lose me with games. A first date shouldn’t be with a long drive because you might not click and age definitely counts with what is considered a good first date. I like to do something physical like mini go kart driving, hiking, shooting ranges, or going to an arcade. Sporting events are my favorites. It’s a good ice breaker.
