That once happened in our class... at 15 you have to leave the Italian part of Switzerland for the German part if you want to continue with school or do an apprenticeship. A teacher made cry another Italian speaker in the class (we were two in the whole class, all other were from the German part). She told him that he was not only lazy, but that this "Italian speaking problem" was also a big issue... he made him cry for what he was and for what he was from. He left crying, I wanted to go to him but could not.
I always thought the poem was more about his brother dying than his sexuality. I know the show changed and Jack being gay became a big plot, but in the moment he reads it I thought it was about Jack and Andie's older brother.
I think making Jack gay was lame. Making him bisexual would have made more sense, but it seems that shows don't acknowledge bisexuality, only homosexuality or heterosexuality.
I love Kerr Smith as Jack McPhee so much
I hated this teacher
That teacher would get sued today, it’s crazy how much things have Changed
I had him. 7th grade.
@@jeremysiron9622 Depends where you live.
He’s useless.
How is the poem about his brother? “His lips smooth…” You’re telling me Jack wanted to make out with his brother? LMAO
Pacey,did right,after the teacher humiliated Jack .
Pacey definitely was the star,he helped many of his friends .
That teacher will burn in hell before Jack does
THE POEM ATE THO
Poor Jack MR Peterson was so out of line am glad Pacey was there I don’t agree with the spitting in someone face but the teacher had it coming.
i love jack so much
man, seeing "throw back tv" for a show/scene I remember watching when it aired is a strange feeling
Tell me about it! 😂
Kerr Smith was so cute then.
He's a silver fox now.

the entire poem was about he being gay, how could anyone think is about his brother? lol
Exactly which is why he was reluctant to read it aloud, he is clearly talking about a guy he yearns for
It’s a beautiful poem actually, sounds like an anguished coming-out declaration.
If you think about it - jack dawson 😎😎😎
Why does pacey sit back down here tho like its not like the teacher can touch him without losing his job
he controls his grade lol
I don't understand why he didn't change 'him' to 'her' while he was reading 🤔
Cause teacher could stopped and read it himself

"His lips, smooth... Like shackles of guilt" how does this sound like a poem for his brother? Lmao
i thought it would be some bs about him being jealous of dawson, him being “the image of perfection”. i’m happy with the route they went
Yeah no. No ones describe they brother like that, "his lips smooth" like what ? Is that memory that you think of after your brother died lol
I don't get how this poem could be only about his sexuallity..... He's got more man in his life
but that was the point of this though
Wym by that
That is the most saddest in the world before the teacher humiliated jack
The title should be Jack is outed at school by his teacher.

facts
bro, this was one of the first representations of LGBT characters on tv, of course it was not perfectly written but for the time they did a good job
it wouldn't make more sense 💀
Exactly. It didn't make any sense because he was clearly really into Joey.
I'm all for bisexual representation but that wasn't needed here. they told the story they wanted to and did exceptionally well for the time.
I really thought the poem was about his brother Tim I don’t see why they had to flip the script and make Jacks character gay .
it’s bc the producer was gay and all the main characters had something from his personality in them

Who describe they brother "his lips smooth" after he died?? Like is that a kind of memory you had if you write a poem about your sibling dying ???
Why would you talk or rather write about your brothers lips? That's nasty @@deru1792
