Hi, JT. I'm so glad you have been breaking down every Brock Purdy game so we can trully understand why this guy has been so special for us, 49ers' fans.... My intuition screams this kid is special and every week you show it too... It's been hard to contain ourselves.
It's crazy to say, but I honestly feel Brock Purdy is on a "whole 'nother level" compared to most of the starting quarterbacks in the league right now. His decision making, ability to see things before they happen, accuracy, and quickness within the pocket is insane.
The tape don’t lie. High-level analysis by former NFL quarterbacks and players all say the same thing about Brock, he can play! Respect, end of conversation. At the end of the season we’ll see where we’re at and who’s right and who’s wrong?
Could barely sleep in anticipation to peep tnis masterclass breakdown from the game last night 🔥 It is a true testament to the vision that Kyle and John promised the 49ers and as a Faithful I'm beyond impressed to see the team well balanced 👏🏾
Brock and this 49ers team as a whole has just been SO much fun to watch! As much as I acknowledge that being on a good team with a great offensive coach and great players around him helps, it's abundantly clear that Purdy is also playing at an elite level himself, and is helping all those guys around him to be better as well.
"Too easy is exactly right" Brock Purdy' body of work is very good. What impresses me most is his rapid processing after the snap. His improvement and maturation is also excellent. That "nod" as you describe it (@6mins), when he changes direction is essential. No human can run full speed and then change direction without a dramatic foot plant to shift their weight. In this case, I do not see the receiver trying to fake the other way as we see often in other similar cases. Thanks for sharing JT.
Brock has been dealing and cooking since day 1 and he’s still doubted. It’s unbelievable to me. His worst game as a pro was against the Cowboys in the playoffs last year and he wasn’t even bad (no TDs but also no turnovers). His ability to move around the pocket to extend plays and keep his eyes downfield the entire time, make quick decisions and throw it with accuracy is all ELITE. Once Jimmy G felt any ounce of pressure the play was pretty much dead.
When he was coming out, you did a video on him and I asked if you could do another because I was intrigued by him and thought he could be the best in the class. You didn’t respond or do another video. Little did I know, all I had to do was wait a year or whatever and I’ll get one week after week 😎😎
Purdy is the death of a thousand cuts. Bring your lunch, he has the confidence and poise to do it all day. It's rare to see a young QB do it both on and off schedule. Plus, he learns on the fly.
#1 pick in the draft EVERYONE would say how good he is without saying "the system makes him look good", why cant the doubters just go with how he is playing. ELITE LEVEL !
I love the fullback immediately swatting the defender's hands on that sneak flat. Turns out the guy wasn't right on top of him, but knowing he has to get a yard and those guys are usually all over that route, its just neat to see that little technical skill that could be the difference in getting tackled for no gain or picking up the first down.
I’m so glad that brock is getting the respect he deserves. I’ve been studying the film (not as well at JT) since his rookie year and have been impressed every damn game Still makes me sad about his injury because who knows what could’ve happened. His story is incredible and I’m hoping he can continue it this year
So I just listened to Kittle talk on Pat McAfee, and he said Kyle sometimes add plays to their install the day of. He even said he made a play during the game, so maybe those are the plays you complain about. Seems Kyle is a perfectionist and always has to think something needs to be tweaked. So maybe he overthinks and that hurts him. ( He also said the play he made up during the game did not work 😂)
Thanks for the analysis. I respect your feedback above others, and the national sports media and scouting talent just can't stomach that they didn't see BP's potential, and I believe is the real reason why he's not getting his just due. It's not just coaching. Jimmy and Lance were prepped for this offense and both were scouted, and yet after years of trying to run this offense, both of them haven't come close to the command and effciency that Brock's demonstrated. I mean the brock was throwing dimes the moment he was brought off the bench when Jiimmy went down with that ankle. CMC also did not have a big night last night, so last night's game was definitely won at the QB position.
Purdy had a great game. I also think Shanahan and the O line deserve just as much credit. That Cowboys pass rush is no joke and the 49ers O line had no issues. Kyle schemed Dan Quinn up. Guys running wide open and Purdy is the perfect Shanahan QB. This is the best team in the NFL right now. No debate
My theory on why they have CMC lineup so far back in that shift is to help out with the timing aspect of the progressions. You want him to be in the right place at the right time as Brock goes through the progressions.
14:02 Purdy is looking to the right and he comes back to McCaffery’s side, so I think he’s so far back because of timing and how he is the 2nd / 3rd read
I'm glad you finally got your hookup in fantasy this week, us niners fans had been waiting patiently for it. George was DUE and he did not disappoint, hopefully it got you a W!
One of the criticisms of SF over the past few seasons is that Shanahan out smarts himself. It seems like he is so creative with his concepts that sometimes, it just doesn't work, but isn't that nature of new ideas? Sometimes the new concepts result in really weird plays with poor spacing, but how can you know without trying it in a game? The answer will come in playoff time whether Shanahan is still tinkering at key times in key moments costing his team a game, or uses the regular season to run all of these experiments.
Fair assessment. But equally fair to propose that he only outsmarts himself because he didn't have a QB with the poise to actualize SHanahans' plays, but now he does.
@@traveltime6975Exactly. Don’t need to spend all your energy being creative when you have someone who can do the little things right. It just makes everything easier.
It seems like he is so creative with his concepts that sometimes, it just doesn't work because he did not have the QB to execute it. Who the hell dare to throw to the right when Kittle was still running to the left at 23:50.
Its more like Kyle has been finding ways to bypass the limitations with his scheme given the personnel he has. He gets caught up with it in key situations and gets too cute with it. But also getting great talents helps influence him to change things up. The CMC pick was huge because his run game got even more diverse and explosive but he also got a mismatch target he can throw as a receiver in pass plays. But getting an improved QB who can drive the ball downfield was always the end goal too. Lance showed flashes of it as a starter but Brock has made it a weekly reality.
JT, I was at Jesuit and watched all of your varsity games. I just knew you were destined for great things. Then in 2008, my son (also a Marauder) and I went and saw you at camp with the 49ers. It was such a thrill to see you in the niner's colors. I love your insight into QB play. Keep it rolling! #GoBigRed
Gotta believe that the shift to a spot in the backfield and not moving up to the line of scrimmage is just to put something on tape that will be different later in the season.
What I love about your breakdown is that you separate the play calling from how the QB actually sees it & executes it. It's one thing is to have great play calling, it's another is the QB is actually reading it correctly, and a third is if the QB can actually execute it. We see QBs with great physical talent not be able to read what is happening and sometimes out of sheer physical talent he MAY still execute it. Those that cannot read to recognize it and just depend on physical talent rarely perform at a high level consistently like the Colin Kapernicks' or Trey Lance's and get figured out in the end and don't win Super Bowls.
Purdy is executing the offense at an incredibly high level, and he also creates nearly perfectly on off schedule plays like it's nothing. His understanding of both offensive and defensive scheme has been improving every week and is now off the charts. Yes, I'm a homer, but this is one of the best QBs I've ever seen.
Niners finally have a franchise QB, we are lucky to have him, so many teams that passed him up are kicking themselves right now! The guy gets it done, lets celebrate BROCKtober!

Having never played organized (tackle) football, there's only so much I could understand as a fan, which limited me (As did the receivers running off the TV screen). Really appreciate you.
Spot on - grew up on Brodie then Montana & JT breaks it down fabulously. Never learned as much as with these videos.
Purdy's anticipation and confidence.... you can see the preparation and trust. And how it's growing between BP and ALL the weapons. Thinking Shanahan's genius finally gets to be on full display with the right guy (the last effing pick in the draft!) at the controls
JT, you're the best, brother. Appreciate you
Same! Love this channel. As a Brady fan, it sucks he retired but I guess I can be a Brock Purdy fan now 😂 Purdy is already playing like an all-time great
Seahawk fan- As soon as I saw his eyes I knew nothing would scare him.
I'm just having fun watching this offense as a fan of football. Of course I'm a 9er fan, but this is world class offensive football and it's so fun to watch. Great breakdown!
As a niners fan it feels like we finally have a successor to Young dude is killing it out there
Successor to Montana!
Chill dude lol. Maybe after he wins a couple of MVPs and a SB at least.@@brettwheeler7753
@@brettwheeler7753to this very day, even among 49er fans, Montana is still not given the credit he deserves! Most of the younger 49er fans believe that Young was better than Montana, and would take a Steve type over a Joe type QB today. Joe put the niners on the map. Steve only won 1 superbowl, Joe won 4 and would have won more if he wasn’t traded away in favor of a more physical stronger QB!
loved him at iowa state (even as an iowa fan). knew he’d be special.
Brock shut the haters up in prime time. He is an elite mvp quarterback. Amazing job.😊 Kyle found his guy. He is smiling.
I believe it was Greise that found him.🎉
@ScrambleEverything God bless Brian Griese. 🙂😊 It's an incredible story that just doesn’t happen. At one point, he was number #4 behind Trey, Jimmy, and Sudfeld.
@@Kidripz49 Griese is the current QB coach for the 49ers. They brought him out of the press booth.
You must’ve been loving those fantasy points JT… 3TDs to 85
I know I was. I look forward to big games because Kittle always shows up in clutch moments, and he was ready for this game.
You know what's sad .. I don't even have a fantasy team but during the game I was thinking JT must be loving this right now
@@superman6338 There were multiple "JT plays" in this game. Three TDs to Kittle, the weird CMC line up and buddy ball to Juszczyk. Never in my life have I thought of a man that often in such a short amount of time lol
Micah Parsons reaction to the last touchdown to Juice is 🤌🏼
Delicious. And then his comments post game is the after dinner dessert.
Man, that 3rd Kittle TD is so fscking sneaky that even when the ball was in the air, 2 DB's thought it was going to BA and tackled him while Kittle was catching the ball.
Best breakdowns. Love it. Go Brock go!
3 steps and bang, ball out. Dude processes so fast before and after the snap. Which allows him to be calm af in the pocket and not taking a bunch of punishment. Amazing stuff out of the last pick in the draft
Dude is on his way to being the next Brady
On CMC flanked wide left 5 yds back
1. Forces defense come up and declare - if they are off they can turn that to a swing pass
2. He cant be jammed by a defender (clean release)
3. As he runs to the LOS he has acceleration/momentum
4. Maintains spacing and timing with other routes
Best QB YTer out. Thank you for putting out so much content and with great quality.
49ers really are just beautiful to watch. They bring so many styles of football and mesh them so well. Smart, fast and high IQ players on both sides.
Also, I love watching his Father and family at games, get excited and support him. So cool! What an inspiration!
I discovered your channel just a week ago and am HOOKED. love learning the nuances of the game I never noticed before. I’m over 60 and learning this for the first time. thank you and keep up the great content!
You have a lot of videos to catch up on. 😂
His decision making, ability to see things before they happen, accuracy, and quickness within the pocket is insane.
he’s HIM. i’m a vikings fan but i’ve been a fan of purdy since the start.
he’s got “it”. whatever it is, that the great QBs all have.
he’s the MAN
The tape don’t lie.
Love how you pause and highlight the anticipation--it is insane to throw to a spot and know that someone will pass at that exact spot! Thanks JT!
Man...i get so excited when u have new videos...your analysis is always on point. BROCKtober! Purdy Great!
Brock and this 49ers team as a whole has just been SO much fun to watch! As much as I acknowledge that being on a good team with a great offensive coach and great players around him helps, it's abundantly clear that Purdy is also playing at an elite level himself, and is helping all those guys around him to be better as well.
The niners and brock are just so much fun to watch right now.
He throws relievers open with anticipation. Dude is easily the best qb in the league.
Mariano Rivera was wide open
“Easily the best”? Calm
Down homer.

Playing like the best. But maholmes with the league and refs protecting him is still the best
Was thinking about you as I watched 85 get 3 TDS last night 😂 IYKYK
Brock is the real deal. He’s doing things other QB’s can only dream of.
When he was coming out, you did a video on him and I asked if you could do another because I was intrigued by him and thought he could be the best in the class. You didn’t respond or do another video. Little did I know, all I had to do was wait a year or whatever and I’ll get one week after week 😎😎
Not hating or anything btw :)
He actually did 3 college videos on Brock
@@superman6338guess I missed em :)
I know it's your channel, but last night Brock put on a QB school.
Great content as usual. Keep pumping out the Purdy vids they get the most views and 👍
Justin Fields is the king of the viewership
I love the fullback immediately swatting the defender's hands on that sneak flat. Turns out the guy wasn't right on top of him, but knowing he has to get a yard and those guys are usually all over that route, its just neat to see that little technical skill that could be the difference in getting tackled for no gain or picking up the first down.
Been waiting for this one
I’m so glad that brock is getting the respect he deserves. I’ve been studying the film (not as well at JT) since his rookie year and have been impressed every damn game
Still makes me sad about his injury because who knows what could’ve happened.
( He also said the play he made up during the game did not work 😂)
A big Happy Birthday to George Kittle. 🎉 3 TDs! And all the presents!
Aiyuks route running is a thing of beauty.
His footwork is what makes him great to me.
Thanks for your video JT! I'm really impressed by Purdy's calm in the pocket. Such a great story for this kid.
damn near 30 minute breakdown. the effort you put into your content is much appreciated JT ❤️
He has absolutely no fear of throwing into the heaviest traffic. And the accuracy is impeccable!
No debate
Brock Purdy is 'DAT DUDE!!!
Love your all of your work, J.T. Thank you, sir!
Awesome! Was anxiously waiting for this🤘
Been watching your channel for a few years now and to see the growth has been amazing and well deserved. Learned a lot
I appreciate that!
That missed throw to Aiyuuk; they went back to that early in the 3rd quarter so he could hit it. It was discussed in Peter Kings MMQB
Do you have a link to that? I'm curious for takes on what went wrong there.
This is the highest level qb play our team had seen since Steve Young
Purdy, humble, positive and focused.
My theory on why they have CMC lineup so far back in that shift is to help out with the timing aspect of the progressions. You want him to be in the right place at the right time as Brock goes through the progressions.
I wanted to say this too. But that means they should scheme the plays better so the timing works out
One of those game in the future, CMC would stay there, take the toss from Purdy and then send a TD pass downfield.
@@tobieainathey pretty much did the same play reversed with Deebo @15:42 and it worked.
this is dope I use to Play with you in Madden on the NINers 🎯🎯🔥🔥🔥🔥
14:02 Purdy is looking to the right and he comes back to McCaffery’s side, so I think he’s so far back because of timing and how he is the 2nd / 3rd read
"Let it wash over you...." Great quote! Awesome channel.
I'm glad you finally got your hookup in fantasy this week, us niners fans had been waiting patiently for it. George was DUE and he did not disappoint, hopefully it got you a W!
This guy had another great game. Love it. Go niners!!
Why need to be creative when you can get consistent chunk plays from very basic concepts with Purdy?
Love it. World class anticipation.

#GoBigRed
Kittle doing work for JTO. If you know, you know.
Love your breakdowns...level one, level two, level three, and more if needed! Will stick around for more!
Gotta believe that the shift to a spot in the backfield and not moving up to the line of scrimmage is just to put something on tape that will be different later in the season.
Something to keep an eye on and see if it does pay dividends or if it is truly a blind spot
In the best way possible half of this video was just writing a giant "A" on the screen.
Great stuff again man

I love your videos. Great break down of the tape. Thank you for this! Glad Kittle could finally blow up for you in fantasy haha.
Haha, that sound at 24:05 encapsulates exactly how good of a throw that is!!!
Dude is legit a top-8 QB in the league
Top 3 if not #1. you cant name 7 quarterbacks plying better than brock rn
Top 1
Brock Purdy is HIM
😂 laughable take
@@Whazzuppcheck the stats and see who's laughing
Top 8. Hahahaha undefeated, first in almost every qb category except yards passing. He's currently #1.
Excellent comment.
JT, im curious as to what your qb rankings are. Id definitely love to watch a video of you ranking the starting 32!
24:18 I’m surprised you didn’t comment on the left handed drop back. Purdy did it last game as well. Curious why it suddenly appeared.
While watching this game, I kept thinking about how stoked JT must have been that Kittle was finally getting his looks! 😂
