saw these guys a couple of years ago before i even knew who they were. they were soooooo good, especially because i had zero expectations :p blew my mind!!
Hot Chip were definitely a Glasto highlight. The BBC coverage didn't show it, but they played Take It In as the sun went down behind the horizon and it was pretty amazing.
@michaelc460 Compared to what they, and I, was expecting. Tv makes it look like a lot more people. They should have had like twice as many people, but Dizzee Rascal pulled a bigger crowd at the Main Stage AND Thom Yorke did a not-so-secret gig on one of the smaller stages and thousands flocked to see him. Comparatively, there weren't that many people - We were right at the front and had loads of dancing space etc it wasn't crowded at all.
finally, a band that wears semi-normal clothes, instead of wearing something that you just wouldnt in public... makes me feel normal, even if they dont intend on being normal.
i heard this band on australian radio today, its not my kind of music but i had to find out what gender the vocalist was.. i think i could go either way... does anyone think the same or is it just me?
This was the best gig of the whole festival. phenomenal. Quite a small crowd, but it was the perfect gig - setting sun etc. just too good.
"quite a small crowd" lol
