  • The Ethos Clean Fusion Deluxe is a fantastic feature filled pre-amp pedal.
    for more detailed info click www.customtones...
    For the curious, the guitar is a 2001 Fender Custom Shop Nocaster (closet classic) that I relic’d over the course of the last 18 years or so. The Princeton reverb is a re issue with a Jensen Neo speaker. I use D’Addario 11-50 roundwound strings and fenderder extra heavy picks. The mic is a Senheiser 906

    Excellent demo. FYI the reason you didn’t hear any difference with the PAB/preamp bypass switch is that it only works on the D-channel side. You had it on the clean F side when you demoed.

    Man, I got an ethos after first seeing you play one years ago Tim, and for some reason I didn’t bond with it I didn’t know how to use it properly. It was kind of too much preamp and not and not enough regular pedal but that’s my fault for not understanding it I sold it. I wish I kept it, but this thing looks very interesting, can’t wait to dive into your demo

    Its not a dogear on a hollow body but that mid boost bridge setting makes me think the bottom of the tele is good for something after all...! Nice! B-)

    Tim thank you so much for this review! I would not have heard about this amazing pedal if it was not for your very instructive and educational explanations on this pedal and all the various things it can do. I truly value your input equipment, and your bluezie Jazzy sound and licks were eloquent and awesome as well thank you again. As always love your clear and easy and approachable content!

    Love the original Mythos but I know I've found the OD pedal for me when I can set both channels clean and it has TWO reverb knobs! I usually use a Wampler Ecstasy set pretty clean for clean tones and the Mythos for slightly less clean tones. This would fill both roles and have a bit more control. Great job as always. Great tone and tasty playing.

    Great video!! I am on the list for one of these. Been using the OD/Preamp for years, in part because of your video. Robs stuff is the best!

    The Ethos does the Robben Ford/Dumble thing really well. To be honest that is the only overdrive I find to be musical. Anything else, I don't want to hear it.

    Tim great thorough demo with your beautiful playing! The sound is glorious. Of course so much of that is your touch on the guitar.
    Question: When you play into the front end of the Princeton Reverb, do you use the GAC switch? It looks like it's off throughout this video.

    Hi Tim, great demonstration. Thoroughly enjoyed your review (not to mention your YT videos, Truefire and Patreon sites). Here is my question: how much of the responsiveness of the Ethos box is due to the Fender amplifier? I just play at home, and like most, am always tempted to buy the latest "gadgets". Could I get the same responsiveness playing out of a small practice amp at lower volumes with a small speaker that you are deriving from your Fender amp and the Ethos? Thank you for sharing your expertise and passion for the blues!

    • @TimLerchGuitar
      @TimLerchGuitar  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      In this video I’m playing into a Princeton reverb with a 10 inch speaker at low volume . Which is basically a small practice amp like you describe. There is also a headphone output and a speaker sim direct output (videos coming soon) so I think you’ll find it very flexible for however you want to use it. In my experience the responsiveness is available into an amp or headphones ore direct into a daw. Thanks for taking the time to give it a listen.

      This is a fender custom shop Nocaster that was made in 2001 how to say lol or Charlie Christian pick up in the neck position

    Are you sure that the PAB doesn't work only on the drive channel, as in the original Ethos ?

    • @TimLerchGuitar
      @TimLerchGuitar  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Turns out the the PAB only works for the D channel! Robbie sent me a note yesterday to straighten me out. I got a kick out of it though. “its subtle” I’ll say haha

    what kind of blues progression is he jamming over in the beginning? :)

    • @TimLerchGuitar
      @TimLerchGuitar  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It’s a progression in D minor something like Hit the Road Jack by Ray Charles.
