We camped in exactly the same spot on Sat 28th August but it wasn’t a waterfall anymore, just a small trickle of lovely clean water! Our hiking pace sounds the same as your slower kayak legs! We struggled with the rock climbs!
I bet after that climb out you wished you chose to get out a touch before Z-Bend at Ross Graham lookout instead. Brutal exit with the kayak, but then again kinda fitting having watched the rest of the trip. Great couple of movies mate well done on the films and the trip.

Hey Salty, when Guy (D'Guys) dropped me off on the Ajana Rd for a Hardabut start, he said to expect to be caught up by a 'bloke with a kayak' he'd dropped at Galena Bridge the day before. Guess that was you! Well, mate, MASSIVE KUDOS. It was close to impossible to pick a trail on foot, so I didn't believe for a second anyone could get a boat through. Really REALLY glad you made it. And out. Sheesh! Don't suppose you found my bivy pole about halfway between HP and Ross Graham on the RHS?
This was such a great series man. Love your work in general, your compositions and cinematography is up there with the best, and so good to see WA showcased the way you do mate. Hope you get to do the last half (and easier half) of the Murchison river one day soon.
It's very gratifying watching someone else drag a loaded kayak across rocks. If you do a trip like this again, you may want to consider rigging a strap from the kayak to a waist band so you can pull it by walking forward. Much easier on your arms and back.
Great vid legend. Bet you were stoked to carry the trolley the whole way and not use it 😂 just beyond the z bend the boulders in the river get pretty hectic and the portages get a bit more sketchy. Then it’s smooth sailing.... comparatively ✌️
Brilliant production , we loved it , my girlfriend is doing from Ross graham to natures window in the same gorge in a few weeks , hopefully as spectacular as what you have shown us..thank you
Thanks mate. Yeah I was soon told that I shouldn't have thrown it back as they are a bit like blowfish and consume everything leaving not much for anything else.
those perch are endemic up there so they are desert survivors, not pests. i caught them at ellendale pool on the greenough tasted very good apparentley they are the fish seen swimming in wheel ruts after storms.
I enjoy the type of travel you do and the locations. My last trip was to Eletchbutting Rock solo camping. I have done the western side of the Kennedy Range and the bottom half of the eastern side (Honeycomb Gauge etc). Keep doing the videos mate.

Agreed, which was half the problem in a way. There was no info on what the water levels were within the gorges and how that reflected if it was passable or not. Now i know haha

That was my original plan but it became a bit of a hazard when the kayak slid sideways and I was attached to it.

I'd be interested to see how she goes. I hiked Ross Graham to ZBend this weekend and it was getting very shallow in places.
