Excellent and robust performance! Thanks for the post! At 14:39, the finale Polonaise is performed beautifully as it should, especially with vigorous percussion and timpani.
This is my favorite part of this masterpiece! And through the years I've had a hard time finding a perfect. Performance. Both. Sonically and artistically!
@@ronniedamnitz9295I had a recording of an old Russian LP borrowed form Denison University, which was the best rendition of the work and Polonaise, IMO. You are right that most performances do not capture its tumultuous glory as they should.
Tchaikovsky himself referred to this as a symphony at one point, and I've stopped regarding it as one myself. Perhaps also because that grants him entrance to the nine symphony club (if you accept the "Seventh" as well, of course).
that theme is sick as fuck. i'm a deadhead, and my musical upbringing isnt this genre. the way he builds the tension reminds me of yes. i got a cassette tape with this on it as a youth. changed my life. this gives me chills. every fucking time. pure emotion

Such an imaginative, thoroughly delightful work...!
What else can be said!
Is that tchaikovsky himself at 0:40?

Same feelings
You'll like the First Symphony as well, then.
Gorgeous interpretation, but why does it sound like it's playing underwater??
A low bit rate, unfortunately
It's not the best I've ever heard, but hardly the worst. Maybe your connection or headphones played a role?
@@bomcabedal As it turns out, I WAS underwater.💦💧💧💦💦💧💧
@@ferociousgumby Ah, that would explain it.
