Say whatever you want about the characters but the actresses are top notch! They were phenomenal and their scenes together are especially this one are heart-wrenching
Lena loves Carol so much that she would kill her own flesh and blood and she did it too without a moment's hesitation why to protect Kara at all cost that's why Lena is so weak for Kara you can see it they b******* should have got an image they both are having a come to Jesus moment does she just got through saying someone that I loved and that's you kara
It blows my mind that people automatically write off Lena as an evil villain after watching her character development throughout this show. She destroyed her whole family just to protect the world, but is expected to stay a good guy as people still constantly deceive and don't trust her. Her behavior right now obviously sucks, but she has a lot of trauma and she can heal from that eventually. No character is irredeemable, especially not Lena.
It baffles me that she’s deemed as a villain, but honestly every single word she says makes sense and how she’s reacting is the most human anyone can be. Back when Mon-El left, Season 3 started with a bitter and angry Kara- this is exactly the same. Except Lena isn’t Supergirl nor is she Kara Danvers. She’s been hurt more times, and she’s been told never to trust or love. So the way she is now is perfectly understandable but it doesn’t make her bad.
So true. I mean I hate what Lena is doing but if anything it's more heartbreaking than anything else. We have seen her character development throughout the show and we have seen her grow as a character. We also got a look into her backstory and sadly she has a long and painful history of mistrust and deception by people close to her. With Kara's betrayal on top of all the other betrayals, it is the thing that has pushed her over the edge. Of course it doesn't mean I agree w/ the things she is doing but her feelings are understandable. Just like I felt Kara shouldn't have lied for so long but her intentions were good and she had her reasons as it was her secret to tell (although I thought she was written OOC in 3x17 and 3x18). Kara was put in a place of inner conflict and severe guilt as she struggled w/ keeping her identity from Lena. The inevitability of that secret coming out led to heartbreak on both their parts. But yeah you're right, no character is irredeemable and her current actions now shouldn't erase all the good she's done for Kara and everyone else. Lena is morally grey but has a touch of humanity and vulnerability about her that separates her from the rest of her family. Lex from Smallville was also a good example of that before he turned dark but I never saw MR's Lex as evil particularly in the earlier seasons as he was more misunderstood, flawed and complex like Lena is. The difference is Lex was/is already too far gone to be redeemed whereas Lena still has a chance to be redeemed. She isn't like the rest of her family. Her actions now shouldn't diminish THREE SEASONS worth of character growth she's had and honestly if she does turn full-on villain, not only it would be predictable, contrived and plot-driven, it would be major character assassination not seen since Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones. I would rather see a well-thought, fleshed out redemption arc for Lena where she struggled w/ the balance between good and evil and Kara is the one to pull her back from the darkness into the light and save her from herself. It would make for a compelling and moving story if the writers have the courage to go there instead of possibly writing Kara and Lena as the next "Clark and Lex" w/ the whole "friends-to-enemies" trope. Sure their dynamic is similar but Kara and Lena are their own characters and they have their own story and I wish the writers would see that.
Personally I think that being hurt so much as a child, and when she finally let's people in and she learns they've been keeping this massive secret from her she just incredibly hurt and is trying to block the emotions by hurting Kara

Even though Lex is a sociopathic narcissist egotistical maniac with a god complex bigger than the entire ocean and has done many awful, evil, and immoral things to people Lena cared about and innocent people, he’s still her brother, and despite everything, part of her loves him and always will, even if most of her is disgusted and revolted by him, and hates him more than nearly anything, she didn’t want to kill him, or to cross that line.
My one counter to her line is this: Kara may have lied to her, but it was Lena who pulled the trigger, and yet Lena chooses to blame Kara for his “death.” They both acted with the intent to protect the other.
Absolutely friend anybody say that these two don't have chemistry they are flat out lying they made it work they earned their checks and I mean that sincerely but had there been a season 7 I honestly believe we could have found out a little bit more about the two of them oh well at least fan fiction exists now and a lot of people are now making their own fan films especially a guy in Russia that's all he makes is Supergirl batteries on pocket there's no Lena luthor yet but I think that'll happen in season 2 of the fan version of Supergirl it's a bilingual show may speak Russian and English and it's on TH-cam
It does remind me of that Seen in the Arctic at the end of Smallville season seven when lax finds out about Clark secret it was so tense in that scene this is exactly the same or similar at least

She did have the opportunity but if you watched the episode 13 of the season 5 you saw that there wasn't a perfect moment to tell her because it ends bad every time

And being betrayed over and over again by loved ones(she didn’t even wanna be friends with Kara at first because she had been betrayed by friends and family). As lex exposed Kara, lena(and any human who has been betrayed over and over again) started to question if everything was real between them. Being lied to continuously does something to your mental health 🤷♀️

Kara was the only friend Lena really put her trust and love to, before that she never opened as much, so for her only exception to betray her, it makes sense.
Best scene ever between these two WOW....now we'll see if SG is gonna fight for her or not and we'll finally going to see if Lena's gonna be the truly main villain or no is the next episode.

It was devastating how Lena found out Kara was supergirl, and her reaction honestly didn't surprise me in the slightest. I like to study characters when I watch any show, and when I look at Lena I see that she doesn't trust people easily, and when someone has earned her trust then she trusts them completely.. So when she found out about Kara she filed her down as another person who betrayed her and she feels like an absolute fool in the process. Lex has this way with Lena, he can easily manipulate her and although she's smart she allows it to happen because she idolised him growing up.. The emotion couldn't be contained from her face when she shot him: no matter how hard she tries to mask it she still longs for his approval deep down, that and her mothers. Lena has never been enough in her family's eyes. Lex not only revealed the truth about Kara but he did it in the worst way imaginable and taunted her with it, knowing exactly what to say in order to get under her skin. If Kara had told Lena herself BEFORE Lex got to her, I think - no, I KNOW - she wouldn't have reacted the way she did.. She'd still be hurt, however not to this extent.This isn't just because Kara kept a secret from her, it's about them all mocking her and insulting her basically, and she also feels betrayed and feels embarrassed that she didn't realise.. In short, Lex's words hit a nerve. Not only does Lena believe that Kara betrayed her, but she also thinks that everyone else has too, including Lillian. Although she hides behind a cold mask Lena wears her heart on a sleeve and she knows this and hates it. When it comes to Lena trying to change humanity I can see where she's coming from. Our entire race is toxic and all we do is destroy everything in our paths, however reprogramming isn't the way to go. I've said this so many times but technology is seductive and so is power. People are forgetting how this woman was raised: showing emotion was weak. Lena is so smart but again, she wears her heart on a sleeve, she doesn't know how to cope with feelings and always turns to science and technology. If anything she rely's on it too much. The main key storylines this season are supposed to be saving Lena's soul and the hold technology has on us. It's dangerous and I wish people would actually go outside rather then posing for bloody Instagram. The more we use technology the more our planet suffers too and no one seems to give a damn. It's really upsetting. Humans are an overrated species and if we're not hurting our planet, we hurt the people around us. So in that sense I can see why Lena wants to reprogram everyone, however she's so focused on reaching her goal that she's not looking at the bigger picture. This entire thing will have terrible consequences, however like Lena said in a previous episode, humans are programmed by emotions and because she doesn't know how to deal with hers she's allowing her insecurities and hurt to guide her down this path, in her mind she's trying to do good and isn't seeing the bigger picture. If she allows herself to stop and think she'll realise however as I said she's driven with hurt and isn't thinking clearly: Kara didn't betray her, however Lena doesn't see it like that. I am so alike with Lena in how I can't deal with my emotions, with my Aspergers, depression and anxiety and having being bullied for years I allow my insecurities to guide me sometimes and that isn't good. I do NOT trust people easily and when they do something little to hurt me I never trust them again, I honestly wish I wasn't this way and are trying to change the way I think. All I see when I look at Lena is a broken woman, not a villain. Yeah, I think this too and I think it is sad that people claim her to be a villain when she is just a genius scientist with a broken heart who relies on technology when she tries to solve problems. She appears to many people to cold and terrible person but in reality, she is very kind and soft. Many people don't see this because they don't look through the surface. It is true that she doesn't always show it because she doesn't trust anyone but you'll see it if you pay good attention. Generally, numerous people judge others by only their actions alone and never look at the motives or what the person had gone through. I'm not a saint, I do that too when it comes to something personal, like when they hurt me but only because my judgement is clouded by my emotions but I'm taking baby steps to change that. In my opinion, many people don't understand Lena's actions because they had never experienced such betrayal and pain caused by it. I know that Kara didn't own Lena her secret but the fact that everyone else (well except Kelly) had known this whole time must have hurt Lena's feelings because she was supposed to be Kara's best friend. Plus, as Lena said in this scene, Kara had promised to never lie or betray her but she did and that hurts Lena to the core of her soul. She let Kara in and got hurt again. Lena had always had problems dealing with her emotions and like she said in the previous episode, she is tired of people hurting each other. So to solve this problem, she goes to extreme measures. But to be honest, If I were Lena, I would do the same thing she is doing even though it isn't the best solution to the situation. Or I would have told Kara the truth when she had told Lena that she is Supergirl and I would have door-slammed her like I usually do when someone betrays my trust because I too don't let people in easily or at least I try not to. Every time I do someone betrays me and hurts me and I am a highly sensitive person so you can get the picture. What Lena really needs is a friend who would be there for her and support her no matter what and would be loyal to her. She needs someone to keep her grounded when things go out of control. She needs someone to remind her that she is NOT alone and who would comfort her. Someone who believes in her and in who she can believe in return. Kara used to be that person and I believe she can be again if she does the right thing. She needs to talk to Lena and to do the same thing she did in 4x19 and 2x18 (I think it was those episodes) and put Lena in a hug and comfort her and tell her that everything is going to be alright. I know they can get through this together. Lena is my favourite character. She is so complex and I relate to her so much. I really hope Kara will make the right decision and help Lena realise what she's doing isn't the right thing to do and after a while, they will be friends again. I understand what they're saying in the sense that she is hurting Kara and many others, however they fail to see why she's doing it and blame solely on Kara's secret when in reality there's so much more to it then that.. The situation with Kara was merely Lena's breaking point.. She had her walls built securely in order to protect herself and keep herself grounded until Kara slowly broke down that wall, and the betrayal was the final straw and she can't cope. Lena is so intelligent, which in some ways has consequences as smart brains have the habit of self destruction more. The previous episode showing Lena's past was only a touch of the hurt and betrayal that she's been through in her life.. People aren't seeing the bigger picture and are forgetting how she was raised as a child and I bet if she wasn't physically abused she 100% either way was mentally. She is self destructing because she's had enough, and she is so focussed on reaching her goal that she isn't looking beyond that and fails to see the hurt she'll cause because in her mind her motives aren't meant to hurt everyone- she genuinely believes she's doing good. I mean, she'd been keeping it all inside for many weeks and that must have been torture. I should know I keep things to myself most of the time. Maybe this will help her see things more clearly and some small bits of the pain might have already disappeared. If not pain then some of the hatred surely. But that depends on writers. I reckon Kara won't abandon her. Even though Lena doesn't trust her right now, for Kara their friendship was and still is one of the most important things in her life. Hopefully, Lena will realise that. At this point, I'm certain that in the end, their friendship will prevail. It will be a long and rocky road but once it is all done, their friendship will be stronger than ever before. PS: It'll hurt like hell if I'm wrong. You can never be quite sure what the writers will do next.
Exactly. I was saying this to my friend. If you've been betrayed by loved ones over and over again you wouldn't wanna trust anyone again. This happened to me and my bestie. I trusted him so much and he lied to me for months. All his friends knew but I didn't. I felt ridiculed and I started questioning everything they've and he ever said to me. It took a while to forgive him and he did a lot of apologizing. I think Lena needs a therapist. Living with the Luthors does something to your mental health and there's a lot of paranoia involved too. I honestly believe if Kara had told her before Lex, Lena wouldn't have been this wrecked. She would be mad but not like this Lex definitely wanted to have the last laugh even in his death and that's why he taunted her with it. Cuz he knew it would definitely get under her skin.
In a weird way Lena is more honest with Kara here than Lex was with Clark ever in Smallville. I love how all Kara could do here is stand there and listen to everything she spills out. I was never on Lex's side but i'm SOO on Lena's side here.

This confrontation scene between Kara and Lena was so intense and heartbreaking. Melissa and Katie gave such a powerful, raw and emotional performance, especially Katie while Mel held her own w/ her. I thought nothing could top their acting performance in 5x01 w/ the "Reveal" scene but I was wrong as this is just on a WHOLE OTHER LEVEL. They really do have amazing on-screen chemistry and work so well together. I fully believe Katie is Melissa's best scene partner right after Chyler. Melissa and Chyler have been working together since Day 1 and really are the heart of the show as Kara and Alex. They know each other so well and really bring so much to Kara and Alex's relationship. Katie comes a very close second for me as Melissa and Katie have also been working together for a long time too if not more but they also work so well together and have such a great rapport w/ one another. Melissa truly does shine in her scenes w/ all her co-stars but especially Chyler and Katie as she really does bring her "A" game in her scenes w/ those two actresses and vice versa. They're all such phenomenal actresses and are incredibly talented. I would also add David to the list of actors Mel work so well w/ as they have great acting chemistry too. But yeah this scene was so powerful from an acting stand-point...one of the very best scenes of the show so far!
People forget Lena has been betrayed, manipulated, and lied to by Luthor drama since childhood. That really does a number on being able to trust and open herself to bond with people. Now she's had to revisit that pain by lied to by those she trusted like Eve, Lex, and Kara and friends. Despite Supergirl knowing this, she continued to lie to her, so she deserves what's coming.

Lena was tired of supegirl always judging her as bad, (she did a lotta this early on in the series) SO LENA broke off the friendship-as Kara was spying on her anyway through James, (very unethical behavior from a hero) so Kara should've stayed outta her LIFE. But NO..since discovering a lot of her EARLY judge- ments against Lena were wrong..SG WORMED her way back into Lena's life DISGUISED AS KARA.. and LIED to..and DECEIVED lena for 3 WHOLE YEARS. At first, I was a little bit mad with Lena for being so ungrateful after everything that Kara/Supergirl did for her but after contemplating, I realised that she was right. She has all the right and reason to be furious with Kara because she trusted her and believed in their friendship. PS. These two actresses did an incredible job portraying their respective characters. ❤️
Poor Kara...she looks like an angel in a cage. Omg she loves Lena so much. I think after this break down she won't be able to fight leviathan. Because she took her spiritual strength from that relationship with Lena - a person she loves and appreciates. Now her heart is broken, and there is no other way to heal apart from reuniting with Lena. Can't wait to see the reconciliation scene between those two. I hope it would be as powerful and emotionally touching as this one. I do actually think they should kiss in the end. For sure, this scene strikes me emotionally even harder than my break-ups in real life hahaha
Kara took a risk not judging Lens solely on the fact that she was a Luthor because Kara is too good for this world now that being said I only think Lena is going to get too close to the edge but I don’t think she will go full on evil. I think she will realize exactly what she is doing. She is looking to justify her actions where there is no justification.

Everyone feels really bad for Lena and how she was betrayed. But uve gotta think of Kara. She thought this was protecting Lean, she thought lean was safe not knowing. Kara also needs Lena as a friend, and all Kara did was not tell the truth till later on (because she thought it was protecting her). Lena on the other hand pretended to be her friend, started acting like a villain, and used kryptonite on her. If u think of this in Lenas prospective it’s really hard as well. She grew up as a Luthor and basically her whole family betrayed her. Her brother is one of the most dangerous villains, That’s gonna take a tool on you. And she was friends with Kara for about 3 years before Kara told the truth. She was just so shocked and mad that she was blind to what she was really doing. I am not hating on these characters, personally these two are one of my fav characters. They both went through hard times and hopefully in season six they will have a good relationship again. P.S Melissas and Katie’s acting is insane! They made it feel as if it wasn’t acting so bravo to them!
If you recalled, Kara asked her why didn't Lena out her at the Pultizer party. Actually Lena was about to send the evidence to Andrea, but because of Kara's sudden confession, she had to rethink suddenly.
I'm not blaming Lena or Kara in this. I blame the past Superfriends (Alex, Winn, James, J'onn), because Kara really wanted to tell Lena her identity in Season 2 but they kept giving her the 'She's a Luthor' excuse that made her insecure.

I love Kate Mcgrath she such a great actress. She great and containing her self and then blasting with the emotions. She so good and I hope she gets bigger and better roles.

She literally had to kill her brother for supergirl not to mention she chose supergirl to live instead of her lover, she has literally been abused and used her entire life. She has the right to feel this way. Her entire life has been nothing but betrayal and the moment she realizes that not everyone would betray her it turns out the one person she opened her heart to betrays her plus now that shes strained her relationship with kara she also lost the friends she made because of kara. So shes pretty much all alone now. So its justifiable for her to act this way. Shes bottled up so much pain that this is how shes dealing with it.

Not enough. When you lie to your best friend for 3 years and not only that.. get everyone else to lie to her too..it's not enough. Also, SG saved her life only because she is in- destructable. Lena risked her life many times for Kara also..when she could've got killed quite easily. Lena's love for Kara was much stronger than Kara's was for Lena..and that's the difference. Who knows what happens next though? Kara might squeeze a diamond out of a rock for Lena and kiss her, and tell her she loves her and propose to her! I doubt that will happen as I'm not a "Supercorp" shipper. However, IF that were to happen, even I would ad- mit that's AWESOME and I'd become a shipper of "SUPERCORP".
I wonder what the atmosphere on set was like after they shot this scene. Did they immediately start joking about it or did they wait it out before shooting any other scenes? Or maybe it was the last scene of the day? I'm honestly so curious about what happened after they shot this scene because it's so emotional and raw and I'm just so curious as to how the cast and the crew felt afterward.

Omg this is heartbreaking 💔 so sad that Lena feels this way😭 and I know it’s understandable the way she was so firm in herself not to trust anyone else but then met this smiley happy jolly girl Kara Danvers 😊and fell in love with her, and her positivity and supportiveness. To find out that all that was a lie (well the fact she thought Kara had integrity and was honest and then found out she was lying to her everyday) was heartbreaking but every bad thing lena is doing to kara; she doesn’t deserve. Kara didn’t tell her because she was to protect Lena (because of evil people knew Lena was working or associating with supergirl it may put her in danger: she could be captured to be forced to tell answers about supergirls whereabouts or something) and hopefully someday she will understand.

How anyone can still support Lena’s actions after this is beyond me. Saying she’s been hurt is one thing, but there is no justification for her actions. I use to like her character, but this is way over the top, and I seriously do not like the direction the writers have taken her character. I do hope for a redemption arc, but blaming Kara for all of her actions is ridiculous! Lena has gone over the edge.
That's what happens to you in a family of villains. Kara was Lena's hero but she sure as hell didn't save her...she destroyed her. That's not how a hero acts.. lying and betraying a friendship or even just any person.

Well, given that Lex always goes after those closest to the heart of his enemies.. Lena might think she's pro- tecting James by pretend- ing that she doesn't care that much about him any- way. Lex is probably a guy who'll desroy anything you love. When they were little he probably killed her gerbil, her cat, etc. by doing ex- periments on them, later as they grew..he probably turned her boyfriends in to ghouls or zombies. Something to think on. It's not like Lillian Luthor could've (or even would've) made him act humane.

It blows my mind that people automatically write off Lena as an evil villain after watching her character development throughout this show. She destroyed her whole family just to protect the world, but is expected to stay a good guy as people still constantly deceive and don't trust her. Her behavior right now obviously sucks, but she has a lot of trauma and she can heal from that eventually. No character is irredeemable, especially not Lena.
It baffles me that she’s deemed as a villain, but honestly every single word she says makes sense and how she’s reacting is the most human anyone can be.
Back when Mon-El left, Season 3 started with a bitter and angry Kara- this is exactly the same. Except Lena isn’t Supergirl nor is she Kara Danvers. She’s been hurt more times, and she’s been told never to trust or love. So the way she is now is perfectly understandable but it doesn’t make her bad.

So true. I mean I hate what Lena is doing but if anything it's more heartbreaking than anything else. We have seen her character development throughout the show and we have seen her grow as a character. We also got a look into her backstory and sadly she has a long and painful history of mistrust and deception by people close to her. With Kara's betrayal on top of all the other betrayals, it is the thing that has pushed her over the edge. Of course it doesn't mean I agree w/ the things she is doing but her feelings are understandable. Just like I felt Kara shouldn't have lied for so long but her intentions were good and she had her reasons as it was her secret to tell (although I thought she was written OOC in 3x17 and 3x18). Kara was put in a place of inner conflict and severe guilt as she struggled w/ keeping her identity from Lena. The inevitability of that secret coming out led to heartbreak on both their parts.
But yeah you're right, no character is irredeemable and her current actions now shouldn't erase all the good she's done for Kara and everyone else. Lena is morally grey but has a touch of humanity and vulnerability about her that separates her from the rest of her family. Lex from Smallville was also a good example of that before he turned dark but I never saw MR's Lex as evil particularly in the earlier seasons as he was more misunderstood, flawed and complex like Lena is. The difference is Lex was/is already too far gone to be redeemed whereas Lena still has a chance to be redeemed. She isn't like the rest of her family. Her actions now shouldn't diminish THREE SEASONS worth of character growth she's had and honestly if she does turn full-on villain, not only it would be predictable, contrived and plot-driven, it would be major character assassination not seen since Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones. I would rather see a well-thought, fleshed out redemption arc for Lena where she struggled w/ the balance between good and evil and Kara is the one to pull her back from the darkness into the light and save her from herself. It would make for a compelling and moving story if the writers have the courage to go there instead of possibly writing Kara and Lena as the next "Clark and Lex" w/ the whole "friends-to-enemies" trope. Sure their dynamic is similar but Kara and Lena are their own characters and they have their own story and I wish the writers would see that.
Personally I think that being hurt so much as a child, and when she finally let's people in and she learns they've been keeping this massive secret from her she just incredibly hurt and is trying to block the emotions by hurting Kara

Even though Lex is a sociopathic narcissist egotistical maniac with a god complex bigger than the entire ocean and has done many awful, evil, and immoral things to people Lena cared about and innocent people, he’s still her brother, and despite everything, part of her loves him and always will, even if most of her is disgusted and revolted by him, and hates him more than nearly anything, she didn’t want to kill him, or to cross that line.
My one counter to her line is this: Kara may have lied to her, but it was Lena who pulled the trigger, and yet Lena chooses to blame Kara for his “death.” They both acted with the intent to protect the other.
Katie is actually an incredible actor, she plays Lena Luthor so well.

And being betrayed over and over again by loved ones(she didn’t even wanna be friends with Kara at first because she had been betrayed by friends and family). As lex exposed Kara, lena(and any human who has been betrayed over and over again) started to question if everything was real between them. Being lied to continuously does something to your mental health 🤷♀️

The only thing I got from this was that "to have someone you love betray you" which means she loves Kara.
It was devastating how Lena found out Kara was supergirl, and her reaction honestly didn't surprise me in the slightest. I like to study characters when I watch any show, and when I look at Lena I see that she doesn't trust people easily, and when someone has earned her trust then she trusts them completely.. So when she found out about Kara she filed her down as another person who betrayed her and she feels like an absolute fool in the process. Lex has this way with Lena, he can easily manipulate her and although she's smart she allows it to happen because she idolised him growing up.. The emotion couldn't be contained from her face when she shot him: no matter how hard she tries to mask it she still longs for his approval deep down, that and her mothers. Lena has never been enough in her family's eyes. Lex not only revealed the truth about Kara but he did it in the worst way imaginable and taunted her with it, knowing exactly what to say in order to get under her skin.
If Kara had told Lena herself BEFORE Lex got to her, I think - no, I KNOW - she wouldn't have reacted the way she did.. She'd still be hurt, however not to this extent.This isn't just because Kara kept a secret from her, it's about them all mocking her and insulting her basically, and she also feels betrayed and feels embarrassed that she didn't realise.. In short, Lex's words hit a nerve. Not only does Lena believe that Kara betrayed her, but she also thinks that everyone else has too, including Lillian. Although she hides behind a cold mask Lena wears her heart on a sleeve and she knows this and hates it.
When it comes to Lena trying to change humanity I can see where she's coming from. Our entire race is toxic and all we do is destroy everything in our paths, however reprogramming isn't the way to go. I've said this so many times but technology is seductive and so is power. People are forgetting how this woman was raised: showing emotion was weak. Lena is so smart but again, she wears her heart on a sleeve, she doesn't know how to cope with feelings and always turns to science and technology. If anything she rely's on it too much. The main key storylines this season are supposed to be saving Lena's soul and the hold technology has on us. It's dangerous and I wish people would actually go outside rather then posing for bloody Instagram. The more we use technology the more our planet suffers too and no one seems to give a damn. It's really upsetting. Humans are an overrated species and if we're not hurting our planet, we hurt the people around us. So in that sense I can see why Lena wants to reprogram everyone, however she's so focused on reaching her goal that she's not looking at the bigger picture. This entire thing will have terrible consequences, however like Lena said in a previous episode, humans are programmed by emotions and because she doesn't know how to deal with hers she's allowing her insecurities and hurt to guide her down this path, in her mind she's trying to do good and isn't seeing the bigger picture.
If she allows herself to stop and think she'll realise however as I said she's driven with hurt and isn't thinking clearly: Kara didn't betray her, however Lena doesn't see it like that. I am so alike with Lena in how I can't deal with my emotions, with my Aspergers, depression and anxiety and having being bullied for years I allow my insecurities to guide me sometimes and that isn't good. I do NOT trust people easily and when they do something little to hurt me I never trust them again, I honestly wish I wasn't this way and are trying to change the way I think. All I see when I look at Lena is a broken woman, not a villain. I really hope she can be saved, however that's up to the writers to decide

Yeah, I think this too and I think it is sad that people claim her to be a villain when she is just a genius scientist with a broken heart who relies on technology when she tries to solve problems. She appears to many people to cold and terrible person but in reality, she is very kind and soft. Many people don't see this because they don't look through the surface. It is true that she doesn't always show it because she doesn't trust anyone but you'll see it if you pay good attention.
Generally, numerous people judge others by only their actions alone and never look at the motives or what the person had gone through. I'm not a saint, I do that too when it comes to something personal, like when they hurt me but only because my judgement is clouded by my emotions but I'm taking baby steps to change that.
In my opinion, many people don't understand Lena's actions because they had never experienced such betrayal and pain caused by it. I know that Kara didn't own Lena her secret but the fact that everyone else (well except Kelly) had known this whole time must have hurt Lena's feelings because she was supposed to be Kara's best friend. Plus, as Lena said in this scene, Kara had promised to never lie or betray her but she did and that hurts Lena to the core of her soul. She let Kara in and got hurt again. Lena had always had problems dealing with her emotions and like she said in the previous episode, she is tired of people hurting each other. So to solve this problem, she goes to extreme measures. But to be honest, If I were Lena, I would do the same thing she is doing even though it isn't the best solution to the situation. Or I would have told Kara the truth when she had told Lena that she is Supergirl and I would have door-slammed her like I usually do when someone betrays my trust because I too don't let people in easily or at least I try not to. Every time I do someone betrays me and hurts me and I am a highly sensitive person so you can get the picture.
What Lena really needs is a friend who would be there for her and support her no matter what and would be loyal to her. She needs someone to keep her grounded when things go out of control. She needs someone to remind her that she is NOT alone and who would comfort her. Someone who believes in her and in who she can believe in return. Kara used to be that person and I believe she can be again if she does the right thing. She needs to talk to Lena and to do the same thing she did in 4x19 and 2x18 (I think it was those episodes) and put Lena in a hug and comfort her and tell her that everything is going to be alright. I know they can get through this together.
Lena is my favourite character. She is so complex and I relate to her so much. I really hope Kara will make the right decision and help Lena realise what she's doing isn't the right thing to do and after a while, they will be friends again.

The previous episode showing Lena's past was only a touch of the hurt and betrayal that she's been through in her life.. People aren't seeing the bigger picture and are forgetting how she was raised as a child and I bet if she wasn't physically abused she 100% either way was mentally. I mean, she'd been keeping it all inside for many weeks and that must have been torture. I should know I keep things to myself most of the time. Maybe this will help her see things more clearly and some small bits of the pain might have already disappeared. If not pain then some of the hatred surely. But that depends on writers.
I reckon Kara won't abandon her. Even though Lena doesn't trust her right now, for Kara their friendship was and still is one of the most important things in her life. Hopefully, Lena will realise that. At this point, I'm certain that in the end, their friendship will prevail. It will be a long and rocky road but once it is all done, their friendship will be stronger than ever before.

Exactly. I was saying this to my friend. If you've been betrayed by loved ones over and over again you wouldn't wanna trust anyone again. This happened to me and my bestie. I trusted him so much and he lied to me for months. All his friends knew but I didn't. I felt ridiculed and I started questioning everything they've and he ever said to me. It took a while to forgive him and he did a lot of apologizing. I think Lena needs a therapist. Living with the Luthors does something to your mental health and there's a lot of paranoia involved too. I honestly believe if Kara had told her before Lex, Lena wouldn't have been this wrecked. She would be mad but not like this Lex definitely wanted to have the last laugh even in his death and that's why he taunted her with it. Cuz he knew it would definitely get under her skin.
In a weird way Lena is more honest with Kara here than Lex was with Clark ever in Smallville.

This confrontation scene between Kara and Lena was so intense and heartbreaking. Melissa and Katie gave such a powerful, raw and emotional performance, especially Katie while Mel held her own w/ her. I thought nothing could top their acting performance in 5x01 w/ the "Reveal" scene but I was wrong as this is just on a WHOLE OTHER LEVEL. They really do have amazing on-screen chemistry and work so well together. I fully believe Katie is Melissa's best scene partner right after Chyler. Melissa and Chyler have been working together since Day 1 and really are the heart of the show as Kara and Alex. They know each other so well and really bring so much to Kara and Alex's relationship. Katie comes a very close second for me as Melissa and Katie have also been working together for a long time too if not more but they also work so well together and have such a great rapport w/ one another. Melissa truly does shine in her scenes w/ all her co-stars but especially Chyler and Katie as she really does bring her "A" game in her scenes w/ those two actresses and vice versa. They're all such phenomenal actresses and are incredibly talented. I would also add David to the list of actors Mel work so well w/ as they have great acting chemistry too. But yeah this scene was so powerful from an acting stand-point...one of the very best scenes of the show so far!
People forget Lena has been betrayed, manipulated, and lied to by Luthor drama since childhood. That really does a number on being able to trust and open herself to bond with people. Now she's had to revisit that pain by lied to by those she trusted like Eve, Lex, and Kara and friends. Despite Supergirl knowing this, she continued to lie to her, so she deserves what's coming.

Poor Kara...she looks like an angel in a cage. Omg she loves Lena so much. I think after this break down she won't be able to fight leviathan. Because she took her spiritual strength from that relationship with Lena - a person she loves and appreciates. Now her heart is broken, and there is no other way to heal apart from reuniting with Lena. Can't wait to see the reconciliation scene between those two. I hope it would be as powerful and emotionally touching as this one. I do actually think they should kiss in the end. For sure, this scene strikes me emotionally even harder than my break-ups in real life hahaha

Everyone feels really bad for Lena and how she was betrayed. But uve gotta think of Kara. She thought this was protecting Lean, she thought lean was safe not knowing. Kara also needs Lena as a friend, and all Kara did was not tell the truth till later on (because she thought it was protecting her). Lena on the other hand pretended to be her friend, started acting like a villain, and used kryptonite on her.
If u think of this in Lenas prospective it’s really hard as well. She grew up as a Luthor and basically her whole family betrayed her. Her brother is one of the most dangerous villains, That’s gonna take a tool on you. And she was friends with Kara for about 3 years before Kara told the truth. She was just so shocked and mad that she was blind to what she was really doing.
I am not hating on these characters, personally these two are one of my fav characters. They both went through hard times and hopefully in season six they will have a good relationship again.
P.S Melissas and Katie’s acting is insane! They made it feel as if it wasn’t acting so bravo to them!
