I bought the one with 3 cooling plates which are amazingly cold. I add a neck fan only to the 3 plate one (portable neck cooler from amazon) and I'm cool and very happy. I may look geeky but i am comfortable over 100 degrees. Finally, i can deal with the heat and the cooler uses an included power pack that fits a pocket so it lasts for hours and i can sub in another charged power pack when i need to. It works and that's why i bought them. Also the fan has multi colored led lights you can use or not so it's good out walking at night.
Sharper image was one of the first to sell this type of device with just one large cooling/ heating plate....which I bought 15 years ago. It was not cheap. Theirs did not have a battery percentage indicator and temperature display like this one has...so that would be a pro. There are very few that has a digital display to see how long to charge or discharge. Also this has built in rechargeable battery. The sharper image one I got did not have that. You had to use two C battery's and carry around a battery pack with a long supply cable attached to it...so that would now be a pro. I just bought one of these.....for $35 plus shipping from Amazon. Thought that was a good deal since this looks a lot better then the original sharper image old style....I also just bought one that has both a cooling plate in back plus the air flow vents, plus the digital display with battery's remaining percentage left.....for only $16.00. For that price you usually can't even get a cheap fan. That's better then $149.00 for the coolify which may have spent way to much money on their packaging. At least if I don't wear these 2 much ( which I probably won't) I didn't loose a fortune. A fan inside or outside is still a fan and they all still blows the same warm air in you face....unless your sweating and then you will definitely feel cool because of the evaporation effect. At least most of the fan only models are cheap and affordable no matter which one you pick.
Yep. This thing blows. errrr, actually it does NOT BLOW! wtf? It is indeed advertised as a cold FAN, too. Huge drag. The only condition I have is IT'S HOT AS HADES OUT -- and this unfortunately does nothing to help. Kind of cool how quickly the plates cool down -- but this thing wont even hold a charge for me. I keep trying. But I've forgotten I had it on and wore it for an hour, only to realize it's not cold at all, or even on anymore. UGH! Here goes another one back to the store!! The Coolify is fabulous. Unfortunately it only lasts about 90 minutes and that's seriously not good enough. They just put out a "special edition" that lasts ALMOST 2 hours. That's a huge improvement. But someone has GOT TO put one of these out that can work like the Torras, but have some actual battery life😫 Thus far, I've tried 7 of them in the past year. I was fairly enthusiastic about my quest - but the market has been inundated with crappy models this summer. They do now have some with big battery life that last several hours on hi cooling mode -- but they're really just fans - not like the a/c of the Coolify. Somebody will get it right in the next year or two. Good luck! p.s. with this condition, why the EFF do you live in Vegas?!? 🤪 Do you also vacation in Death Valley? 👻 Just kidding!! Thanks for the review. I thought I was using it incorrectly. I just spent a good hour trying to read the directions. I had to rip a loud hoot when I saw the humongous manual you showed. Mine is about the size of a peanut. No way I could read any of it. 🤯😁
I love your comment. I'm looking for more quality neck fans with cooling plates, but it's like what you said. They're just throwing out fans and they're all low quality 😔. As far as me living in Vegas, I would say it's not my first choice of places to live. I actually love Washington state. My family lives in Vegas. So that's why I'm here. They don't get hot like I do however, when I get older I'll eventually move. I'm crazy, I know. 😆 🤣
@@novemberphoenix13 BWAHHAHAA Well - I live in Carlsbad (North Coastal San Diego) exactly BECAUSE my family lives 3000 miles away! 😝 Good luck on your quest! Please come back here and let us know if you find a good one!! 💘. I'll do the same. Almost bought another while on Amazon earlier, but the model I was looking at was out of stock. I'll definitely keep searching. I wonder how much the Sharper Image one cost (that someone in the comments mentioned having years ago). You sound as if, like me, you would pay for a good one if it truly worked. Okay! We're roasting out here right now. I've got the Coolify on whilst sitting in front of the room A/C! 😳🙄 Only another 5 weeks or so til it cools off here. 🥵
For a woman in her 50’s she put together a decent review. Keep up the good work can’t wait to watch more of her videos. Kinda reminds me of my grandma’s older sister
Thank you for your reply. The HQM comes in 2 sizes to accommodate the of different neck sizes. The only issue is that there's no built-in fan as advertised. It fits your neck on either side to cool down your arteries and in turn cools your blood flow. Plus it has a heating setting. The Torras, however, has only one cooling plate for the back of the neck with a built-in fan for optimum cooling.
Bought these for me and unfortunately for anyone that has a neck circumference of more than 14in is going to get choked by this thing. Does not beat the Texas heat
I digging your reflective tank top more than this gadget, TBH. I recently got a hi-viz vest that velcros at the bottom, so I guess it's more versatile as it can fit over practically any garment, but I do love how form-fitting your's is and especially the coverage of the reflective panels.

Hi what brand & model is the 16.99 one?
@@786Xainu ICE-FEELING HANGING NECK FAN....is at the tip of the box.
A huge ding for this is that it won't work while being charged, would be so much better if it could work with an external battery.

how do you compare this to the Torras Coolify?

Will this neck cooler still function while plugged into an external battery?
Good question. 👍 No. It doesn't. I wish they would too.
