I was wondering how high does the heat needs to be cooking tortillas?
I put my griddle on 350 degrees, but if you notice it's too hot, just bring it down a bit.
My cousin sister called Jasmina .. I bought Mexico cooking book, I want to learn . You are great 👍 I'll try to make and what kind flour you used..🎉❤❤
Aww thank you 😊 I used corn flour Maseca I put a link on the description for reference.
Hello Jazmin's Mexican kitchen,I Love all your recipes 🎉🎉👍👍you are such an amazing cook. Anyman would marry you!) Ur amazing cook and mom, and an amazing woman so strong women.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉👍👍👍👍👍👍
😊 thank you
Great video….see a lot of balling and resting…..see you don’t do that…..any comment as to why?
Balling and resting the dough is not necessary, that is more for flour tortillas, for me this is the way my ancestors taught me and I do the same .😊
Asi Mija !!
Salt?????
Yes I add 1 teaspoon of salt ,if you don't want it just don't add it.😊
@JazminsMexicanKitchen I'm sorry for my ignorance..but what's the 🧂 salt for???
Sorry for asking
@@Yoalfisalt enhances the taste of the tortilla , it doesn't affect the consistency of the dough it's just optional, I like my tortillas with a little flavor.😊
Thank you for this video! I was looking for a good recipe video for Tortillas :)
Thank you for watching , I'm so happy that you like it 😊😊
Deja de dar recetas que no son verdaderas tortillas de Maseca ...
Is the water warm or room temperature?
I use warm water, it works better for me but room temperature is ok too.

Listening to your recipe and what is written is different.
4 cups maseca
1/3 cup flour
1/2 tbs baking powder
1 tbs salt ???
The written says
1 tbs baking powder
1 tsp salt
Love all your recipes.
Gracias
I'm sorry , I will fix that, thanks for letting me know.
What causes them to crack down the middle when folded ?
Cricket
The dough may need a little more water or the griddle may be too hot, are you having this problem when putting on the griddle or when using the press.
Nice griddle. 😊
Thank you .
Could you use gluten free flour in this recipe?
Yes sometimes when I can't find regular Maseca I grab the gluten free, I will put the link for it . say is gluten free , hope this helps.😊
Mixing in a little AP flour is a neat trick to add strength and softness.
I started bread baking last year, and recently started getting into corn tortilla making because it’s a LOT easier than working with pure flour tortillas, but I may have to try this.
Very nice❣️
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
How come there is no fat in corn tortillas? Or is that optional?
On corn tortillas it's optional ,if you want to add some it will be fine, sometimes I do add some Manteca de cerdo and they are very tasty 😊.
The reason I didn't add on my recipe is because it is probably harder for others to find that kind of fat and vegetal shortening it's not the same.
@@JazminsMexicanKitchen Gracias!
Has anyone made these gluten free and if yes, did they taste good?
Yes they still taste good with gluten free Maseca, try to find the Maseca with the brown bag.
amzn.to/3L7FA5j this is the one I get it's a little more expensive that regular Maseca but the taste is really good.
We need a good flour tortillas video, too!
Soon 😉.
Thick not tick
Really?? Cut her some slack. She is learning
We just featured her comment in our latest Adobo video if you're interested 😂. Also yes, I was born in Mexico and I have only been learning English as I help my kids with their school work but I'm trying my best!
@@JazminsMexicanKitchen I know you are. You are amazing and a great teacher. Soy Espanola so I understand. My ancestors from Ireland and London England had accents so did my Spanish grandparents and cousins in Spain. Not to mention I have Italian and Portuguese blood as well. We all have accents. Keep learning and look forward.
