I have the laser master 3 as well and have more fun making gifts for family and friends than I could ever have dreamed of. I just purchased some slate coasters and 1/8" thick balsa wood to cut. I use lightburn software with my laser. Can you give me the ball park speed/power settings you used to make the slate coasters and cut the balsa wood crafts with? Thank you in advance. I LOVE YOUR CANNED CORN IDEA.
I didn't leave the cone on for engraving; my understanding is that it's best for the lens to keep it off unless you are using the air assist. The rolling pin was very easy but did require a bit of setup. I learned how to do that from the LA Hobby Guy here on TH-cam. He has a pretty in-depth setup tutorial. It has been a super fun machine to play with! I hope you have fun with it :)

You can also use magic erasers to clean up the char from the laser without taking too much material off
Did you leave on the cone when you did your engraving? How hard was it to learn how to engrave on the rolling pin? I just received my OLM3 on Tuesday.
