    Osss Sensei great videos, been watching them all just joined your channel. get in up to date... great challenge...
    Congratulations on you goal, saw your story, thats the way it goes life its about not giving up on one´s goal and sadly the people closest to us are the ones that usually critizes us the most.
    Im trainning with your ukemis and hve some questions, if i can contact you on email.
    Also if posible you have excelent foot work im kind of heavy weight a little of balance when i do the techniques i would like your tips on that or maybe a video on the kamae stance o aihamni stance, how the footwork for an irimi for example or a tenkan, specially for the tai sabaki...
    Mu goal is to learn how to fall on the techiniques learn how to be an UKE specially in the advanced ukemis, but i started aikido at 43 got a major injury on my shoulder on an ukemi in a kotegaeshi, but im still trying no to fall hard your videos have helped me a lot showed them in the dojo and already two other classmates got it but im still a litlle bit scared to make the move but ill get there.

      +Valerio Vittoria Hello Valerio, it's great to hear from you. It's true that people who are closest often times criticize us most, although they do it because they care for us and they try to protect us.
      You can send me an e-mail to info@aikidosiauliai.lt , I will make sure to respond to it.
      I will look into the video for tai sabaki. There are a few videos I have planned ahead, so it may take a few weeks, but I'll do my best to include it in my list.
      Being a good Uke is not easy, but definitely possible. It's very important not to rush and put effort, but also to take it easy. If we over do it, we might hurt the body and then it builds tension which makes good ukemi difficult to learn.
      I appreciate that you are sharing my videos with friends, I am very happy to know when more people are reached and become useful to them. Speaking about friends - one tip in Aikido is - be inspired by, but do not compare yourself to others. We all learn in different curves and some things will be easier to catch for others, some things you will have an easier time catching.
      So, let me know what questions you have and I will do my best to help :)

      Most of our Dojo Sempai have left the country and my Sensei really need good UKE´s
      Thanks again for your email, ill start writing you there, and looking forward for the foot work videos.

    I really like your videos, they are interesting and informative, but when i want to get a jo, which length is appropriate for my body size(1,86m) and which one to buy?

    • @MartialArtsJourney
      @MartialArtsJourney  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      One way to check the length is to measure distance from ground to your armpit. It will be more or less what you need.

    From the beginning to 27 min the background music was a little bit creepy for me.

      +GuyFromTruth Hehe, I see what you mean. This time one of my students edited this video, so I can't say exactly what the music is, but to me it sounds like Tibetan Buddhist chants. It took me a while to get used to it since I first heard, but in the end I started liking it :)

    Do different schools have different variations?

    • @joseev4645

      Not really Iwama Style, maybe he attended some seminar of a Saito sensei student,but he didn't study It seriously. There mistakes on his way of do suburi that can be dangerous if you do them in kumi jo or jo no riai with partners.

    • @joseev4645

      Yeah, different schools have different interpretations of techniques depending on the data of starting to train and the time trained of their foundator being o'sensei's student.

  • @3AmberScorpions
    @3AmberScorpions 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    It is very clear you don't practice weapons at your Dojo. When you performed Jo-Dan Gaeshi your hands where right over your head. That is where a jo or bokken would be attacking. This is the purpose of this technique. You put the Jo in between your head and the attack and then counter strike...... just garbage.
