I shut him off when he started promoting Christian hedonism. There is a difference between doing something because it benefits you, and doing something in order to be happy. You can be benefitted by something, without your happiness revolving around it.

I think he'd agree if your defining happiness as an emotion. But he would define happiness as human flourishing.
