    Thanks for saving useable food from the landfill.
    Just a tip-small black spots can be removed from cauliflower quickly and safely with a vegetable peeler. I’ve done this with purchased cauliflower for years.

    I never have understood why stores don't take the bad Orange's or apples out of the bags then mark them down ..it seems so stupid to throw them all away when so many kids are going hungry ..😭

      It is stupid of them and they should donate the food that they don't want to a shelter or to food banks.

    I rewatched this,in my mind I made orange chicken,stir fry, salsa,cuties for a dessert,boil veggies w sauce..mmmmm get hungry! Oh, tomatoes w onions & cucumbers w vinegar & sugar..OMG

    I routinely get those cuties and halos for juicing - I know that MOST people ONLY juice the big oranges - BUT it is NO different than juicing lemons or limes and the juice is SWEETER - which is to my personal preference.

    • @GlorieBee218
      @GlorieBee218 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't ask...some stores monitor diving youtube channels, then take corrective action like locking up the dumpsters. and some like to keep their sources to themselves for obvious reasons. lol

      Thank you!
      Finally someone gets it...
      I have made this very point on several diving channels and I get negative comments.
      All I am trying to do is prevent everything from being locked up and the more we brag and show the stores, even naming names the more likely this to happen.
      Keeping a low profile is best IMHO.

    • @GlorieBee218
      @GlorieBee218 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally agree with you, it's good to see people rescuing food and other items to save them from the landfills but there is a danger that over exposing this activity will eventually close everything down...less is best.

      I keep saying it again and again, but some people just can't help themselves😂😂especially when they tell you they're going to sell it on Poshmark or E-bay. 🤐🤐🤐

  • @StealthyAirsoft
    @StealthyAirsoft 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow with all the ppl that can't afford fresh food items this is really upsetting! What the stores do makes no sense whatsoever. When you have a garden you don't throw away the whole piece of food for an icky spot, you cut it off and eat the good part. True sign of being an American even if it is in a negative way that we don't even care how much gets wasted because there's so much here. I don't think this happens on this huge scale in other parts of the world.

    Wow! I can't afford to pay for most of that stuff& they throw it out.makes me sick.
    We have a food bank here that your allowed to visit once a month,many times they give out various styles of berries but they have Soo much moldy hair on them that you can't clean it off The Man handing them out told me to use vinegar water to wash them & it would come off,No it didn't,just a waste of vinegar. You guys seem to get very fresh things from the trash,so I don't understand why stores waste it or food banks hand out rotten food that should have been given away wks before.

    I have to figure out how to live on $25/week for food and I see all this perfectly good food wasted. There are hungry people everywhere. I know they have certain standards and cannot give to food pantries, but most of the food is in perfect condition and not beyond the expiration date. It's a sad situation.
