@@VolleyballSource I'm Canadian :) I actually don't know the rules about screening to be honest. Just stating my opinion and what I see. is it screening if it's a float serve?
Screening doesn’t even matter. Those guys are good enough to know where the serves are coming from. It’s the velocity on the serve that’s giving them problems. It’s not easy to even get your hands on those heavy jump serves.
I really like this video. takes into the action and way back into my days way back when. No need for commentary... Who the US opposite #9, and MB #16 boys are impressive
Scary thought for Canada and the rest of the volleyball world: number 7 for the US, Jacob Pasteur, is only going into his junior year in college, so he's just 20 years old and already this good
yeah hes amazing for his age, but so are a bunch of young players out there right now. Ran Takashi, Nishida, Alessandro Micheletto. there;s a lot of great talent out there.
@@Bigboibeven lmao you do realize that those best player calls are not true, but for real they're one of the best players in the world at their position, Ran Takahashi is one of the main forces of Padova right now and Nishida is back in Japan after wielding his team into a near upset against France with his monstrous performance.
Show us the game from the USA side so we can compare how many times you can see the USA server through their players versus how many times you can see the Canadian server through their stacked players...
@Volleyball Source 2.0 12.5.2 "A player or a group of players of the serving team make(s) a screen by waving arms, jumping or moving sideways during the execution of the service, or by STANDING GROUPED, in order that both the service hit and the flight path of the ball are hidden until the ball reaches the vertical plane of the net." makes no reference to excluding jump serves from the rule but go off. 0:55 , 2:34 , 3:18 are perfect examples from FIVB diagram of what constitutes screening. But forget point of arguing whats letter of the law and isnt, they and we all know what they're doing. Just own it vs calling people pointing it out whiners.
@@Doogel20 I'm not really invested in this conversation either way, but the rule you just referenced states "...in order that both the service hit and the flight path of the ball are HIDDEN until the ball reaches the vertical plane of the net". These guys are making contact with the ball well above the height of the net and the players standing there. I would probably think that's why it's allowed for them to stand grouped like so.
@@Moopse101 I could be wrong but I believe vertical plane of the net is where the ball is crossing the net. Like when players get called for being over the net it's because they are breaking the vertical plane of the net.
@@Doogel20it’s not explicitly stated, but because of how high they are making contact, it does not interfere with the flight path of the ball, assuming you are behind the attack line
It would be so much nicer if you had a better angle and if you showed the score *during* the sets/match, not just at the end of each set. Impossible to follow who's in the lead.
The fact that canada’s libero receives are so amazing is just astounding
glazing
They must’ve trained hard
This point of view gives you the best view of just how fast they're playing.
A quarter of those games were just 3 seconds…..
100%. I wanted to believe Gasman was a fat slow slug but he looked pretty fast from this angle

Love this camera angle and the editing to just while the ball is in play. Great game!

2:22 line swing crazy 😩
I've never seen this angle before and it looks like a completely different game
the normal net side view is awful. you can't see anything! this view shows how amazing these players really are!

USA made alot of mistakes off reception cause of Canada screening them. Better team Is usa

A lot of Americans whining about screening… You know as soon as it’s a jump serve, it’s no longer screening right?

Canada's #19 mixing serves. Great tool and weapon.
Awesome camera position!!! Very interesting action. Can't stop watching...
legit checked my settings to see if the video was sped up after that first spike, these dudes are insane lol
This is a better angle than straight along the net (although along the baseline is really the best).
