In case you did not know, Epsi's covers of Goodbye Sengen, KING and Vampire are not actually cover. They are utattemita (which literally means "tried to sing"), and if I am correct, usually utattemita use the instrumental audio of the original song, so the only thing can be used for comparison is the vocal.
Ok, I thought they did sound more like a karaoke track than a full on cover (still I think I prefer Epsilon Phi for Goodbye Sengen and Roselia for King)
seeing this and the d4dj battle, have you considered d4dj vs argo cover video? would love to see it! i also think more songs overlap between those franchises, so it might be fun to see😼
My thoughts: #1 I agree, RAS' music/vocals are just more powerful~ --Though Feli's voice is better-- #2 Ran's voice just _doesn't_ fit the song at all, to me, so even though the quality for Argo's version in this video is pretty bad, I have to say it's better. #3 _Frick_ this is a tough one. RAS stays true to the more techno-rock feeling of the original, while Gyro's has better vocals (I think a big problem I have in UVERworld songs and RAS' covers of them, are the secondary vocals) I think it goes to Gyro 'cause I _do_ prefer proper rock to techno-rock/alternative rock. #4 I remember struggling with a decision here when Roselia/Rei's cover came out...~ I think I went with Roselia/Rei 'cause more powerful vocals --and maybe Roselia bias.-- #5 Kokoro holds back Bandori's version. Easy win for Argo~ #6 No _damn_ way in _hell_ can anything beat a Haruka solo. While Kasumi's cheery voice works surprisingly well, it's an _obvious_ win for Epsi~ #7 ...Tough one. Comparing the bits around the really high note... I think I slightly prefer Afterglow's 'cause of the piano and because the high note seems even higher...~ #8 Not heard enough of Argo's version to decide. It's a duet yet you only provided a line or two of Nayuta's...~ #9 Again, not heard enough of Argo's version. #10 ...Roselia's just got more impact. Sounds like Yukina's voice is a bit deeper and I think that just suits the song more, plus Epsi's version got some really distracting high-pitched(?) notes in the background. #11 Either it's Kokoro's vocals or I prefer a male singer for this, but Hello Happy's cover, in comparison to Argo's and the original, is _crap._ #12 Hm, tough one. Either way it's an improvement on the original~ ...I think I prefer Gyro's~ #13 The violin wins it~ Though both covers (and the original) are all amazing~ #14 Tough call... I think it goes to Argo, though. #15 Ohhhh I remember having a tough time here...~ I prefer the rolled 'r's in Afterglow's version, but I think I prefer the male vocals --or just Haruka's,-- so Epsi wins~ #16 Oh boy... I think Epsi wins this for me, but only slightly and for a _stupid_ reason...~ #17 Ren's voice just works better, as you said~ --...Also it literally -_-is-_- an anime opening, it's from SSSS.Gridman, I believe.-- #18 Morfonica was such an odd choice for this cover... anyway. No amount of violin can make up for how less pained the vocals sound, for such a depressing song. #19 Haven't really listened to either (not a fan of the song) but I think Epsi's is better. In conclusion... Bandori 5 points. ARGONAVIS 12 points. 2 inconclusive, but it's not like those two points can change the landslide much, right? Honestly... I think it's partially that more of the _actual_ vocalists from ARGO have better voices to me. Taking only my _absolute_ favourite singers... Yukina and Ran, compared to Haruka, Feli and Nayuta. Add to that how a lot of Afterglow covers just seem to miss the mark... they just had no chance, I think...~
I agree that Argonavis has a lot of strong vocalists that are under appreciated! I felt bad because I really love Felix’s voice but I couldn’t find any other songs Fantome Iris shared with Bang Dream (and he was up against Layer who also has an S tier voice haha). I think my favorite singers of Argonavis would have to be Haruka, Felix, and Ren. For Bang Dream it would probably be Layer, Ran, and Kasumi
@@0calliestar0 Mmm...~ It's kinda a shame they don't share many covers, makes my ideas of a cover-swap/duet live (or something --great phrasing--) of the two series a little more bleak...~ And yeah, Rei's pretty good too~ Mm, Ren's great too~ I think his voice works a lot better in the more hard rock songs, rather than pop-rock, but I'm not sure if it's because Argo's harder-rock songs actually just sound better or if it's 'cause I just prefer those hard-rock songs...~ Gotta say, might be 'cause I dislike Kasumi herself or something, I'm not too big a fan of her voice -- Popipa have some great songs, but I don't think her voice is _outstanding_. Just alright.
COMPLETELY AGREE WITH EVERYTHING!! especially for #2 and #3, ran already has a voice that i don't vibe with, and i don't think it fit aoi shiori at all. as op said, aoi shiori is a calming, comforting song, so in that sense i can't see anyone better to cover it than ren with his soothing yet powerful voice (it's a shame the audio is so bad for that one :/). as for core pride, i got chills the first time i heard gyro's cover of this song, nayuta's powerful raw vocals really lived up to the original sound of the song and while i do enjoy RAS cover a lot, nayuta's seiyuu, ogasawara jin, brought so much emotion to gyro's redemption, i have to give them the win for this one ^u^
I was actually making a video comparing covers between Argonavis and BanG Dream, but I see you beat to it. Also, agree with on some, but disagree on others. For example, RAS did better than Fantôme Iris (1/3), but they did not win against GYROAXIA (CORE PRIDE). Also, I noticed you didn’t add Kasabuta (AG and Fujin Rizing). There are a few more songs (Sugar Song to Bitter Step, Samurai Heart, GLAMOROUS SKY, etc.) that weren’t included. Can I still do my vid?
Actually no I am the only person who is allowed to make a video about bang dream and Argonavis >:( (I’m just kidding lol that would be cool and I’d like to hear your opinions on the songs!)
Hey i have a request can you do a project sekai vs bandori cover? the game quick alot of same cover and I really wanna see your opinion on the cover from the two games
I think somehow, Argonavis covers are in a worse light than BanG Dream's. Since we don't have clear covers, we don't have a clear hearing of the instruments unless you find a live version of it. For example, Argo's aoi shiori is I think a cover from Kikyo Rio so it's not really a "full" band since the vocalist is not singing? Idk but that's what I think
@@0calliestar0 they did cover Kasabuta at Cover Fes mini this year, but there is no studio record version yet, and somehow it is not included in the BD version of that live as well. I think the live stream version of that live (which do include Kasabuta) is still on bili , you can check it out.
@@anhc.nguyen6508 Oh ok that’s cool! I tried my best to find every song but not all of them are listed on the wiki so some of them I just stumbled across on TH-cam or SoundCloud

I might do that some time in the future, or even Bang Dream vs Argo vs D4DJ all at once lol
I already made a D4DJ vs Argonavis cover video here if you wanna check it out.
