The first thing I noticed about this reel is its weight th-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was a little heavier than other similarly sized reels. However, that didn't deter my enjoyment of how smooth this reel is. I spooled it with 20lb. Tuf-Line XP and it's perfect for what I use it for. I have it paired with an 8'6" Medium/Fast Okuma SST Salmon/Steelhead rod. The combination is perfect for casting and even drifting. I used the reel all day and didn't experience any arm or hand fatigue except when fighting a few fish! The bail is solid and feels strong when engaging by reeling and manually closing the bail by hand. The large rubber handle grip is very comfortable. It's got a powerful drag, silky smooth reeling, and feels very comfortable in the hands. I recommend it!

My best friend and I used to use the panther martins (size O and OO) in the upper part of the Huron river while wade fishing. We’d catch fish after fish using them. Mostly small mouth bass, and rock bass, or war mouth bass we called them. Not real big, but supper fun. I used a nine foot fly rod with a ultralight spinning reel. (Shimano of course, best reels per dollar in my book) this video Brough fond memories of that, and of my little brother and I fishing Michigan trout creeks of about that same size. Some of my fondest sporting memories. Thanks brother! We mostly did catch and release, but a couple on the creek side in a iron skillet, butter, salt, pepper, and Lawreys season salt was absolutely fantastic too! Had a backpack I carried that in just for the purpose. A couple 9-10 inch trout each over a open fire on the side of the creek where you just caught them. Nothing better! Used the fire to warm the creek water to wash the pan out. Use the pan to put the fire out. Of course you took proper care of the iron skillet when you got home.

Hey Nick.. good choice with Panther Martin spinner. I grew up in San Diego California. Had a lake in the Cuyamaca mountains, Cuyamaca Lake, where we used to go fishing for rainbows. Always depended on the Panther Martin. Can't remember a time where I didn't limit out using that lure.We would limit out even when everyone else on the lake was getting skunked.
Biggest rainbow I caught out of that Lake was seven and a half pounds. Absolutely love the Panther Martin for rainbows!

I've always found it amazing when we leave illinoisc and head west across the Mississippi River into Missouri how much different the terrain gets, and the nice clear rivers and creeks. Not much of that kinda stuff in our neck of the woods Nick, keep up the good work.See ya later Buddy.....
