Muscat International Airport which was formerly known as Seeb International Airport, is the main international airport in Oman and is located in Seeb which is 32 km from the old city. The airport serves as the hub for the national flag carrier, Oman Air and Oman's first budget airline, Salam Air. The airport was earlier opened as Seeb International Airport back in 1973. The airport's name was changed from Seeb International Airport to Muscat International Airport in February, 2008.
