Alot of women do smell bad though. It's not impossible for something unpleasant to be attached to a woman. Of course not all women smell bad but there are women who do,not because of men but because they either don't wash correctly or not often enough.
I want to share something that was life-changing for me. I had an STI test a year ago that also had regular gynaecologist infections test in it. As I suspected, I had been carrying an infection. It made me STINK for years. You gotta go to the doctor or do a test like that once you notice stench lasting for a few months, otherwise that kind of infections can affect reproductive health as well. Good thing, I just did a course of a simple treatment for 10 days & it was gone! I even forgot it was ever an issue.
Well done for being responsible for your sexual health. There shouldn't be any Shame in getting checked. Plus you could have 1 sexual partner and he could have 3 STI. Regular checks without shame is the only way forward

And she often would say it’s not supposed to have a smell and she would make me feel bad if it did. If you can find linen underwear that might help for people more prone to infections. Linen is antibacterial and sweat wicking, so it won't help bacteria (good or bad) to grow whereas cotton holds on to moisture and encourages bacteria growth (more than linen but way less than synthetics).

Here I am to add to those voices: 1) no one ever lists that a side effect of hormonal birth control is that it can throw off your pH. I've tried the nuvaring(gave me the worst reaction. Thought I'd die on that shit), the hormonal IUD and plan B. All of these things have had immediate effects on my ecosystem that were not cool. Namely B.V. if someone would've told me that hormonal contraceptives could likely throw off your PH and that would mean taking antibiotics each time it happened I would've never gotten on hormonal birth control. I'm going to try a non hormonal and update this to see if my body agrees with that, but just know that hormonal birthcontrol fucks with your hormones and when that happens it can throw off your delicate ecosystem down there. Solution: Boric acid suppositories or antibiotic For me, the boric supps work great but you have to religiously use them. They aren't a cure for BV at least not in my case. Taking antibiotics actually cured me but then I used plan b a little too frequently for a period I think was the issue and that ruined my months of a regulated system. Your vagina and sex is naturally going to have a scent. But it shouldn't be super string and definitely not foul. And if you find that you're having recurring issues down there, antibiotics will cure you but boric acid supps are an option too. My first (and last male gyno) reccomended some jelly stuff the first time my pH got thrown off from the ring. It didnt really work for me. The borics worked temporarily and the antibiotics re-regulated my system and "cured" me. I really don't reccomend hormonal birth control to anyone and if you take plan b, be responsible with it. Just thought I'd share because it's ridiculous just how society tries to keep women in the dark of or ashamed of our bodies. Be safe , dont douche or use anything but water down there, and youll stay fresh. The only thing that has ever thrown off my pH has been hormonal contraceptives. Use a condom or getting something that isn't hormonal.

Tips that might help the next girl. Shout-out to the internet Aunties like Joulzy, LeAndra B., and others because lord knows the previous generation of women were some of the worst pickme, yes women ever who Internalized misogyny to ungodly levels and left so many women in the dark or to figure shit out for themselves thus making the same mistakes. Thankful everyday for the women that say enough is enough and break cycles of ignorance, confusion, and slavey that just keep women shackled and shamed.
Here I am to add to those voices:
1) no one ever lists that a side effect of hormonal birth control is that it can throw off your pH. I've tried the nuvaring(gave me the worst reaction. Thought I'd die on that shit), the hormonal IUD and plan B. All of these things have had immediate effects on my ecosystem that were not cool. Namely B.V. if someone would've told me that hormonal contraceptives could likely throw off your PH and that would mean taking antibiotics each time it happened I would've never gotten on hormonal birth control. I'm going to try a non hormonal and update this to see if my body agrees with that, but just know that hormonal birthcontrol fucks with your hormones and when that happens it can throw off your delicate ecosystem down there.
Solution:
Boric acid suppositories or antibiotic
For me, the boric supps work great but you have to religiously use them. They aren't a cure for BV at least not in my case. Taking antibiotics actually cured me but then I used plan b a little too frequently for a period I think was the issue and that ruined my months of a regulated system.
Your vagina and sex is naturally going to have a scent. But it shouldn't be super string and definitely not foul. And if you find that you're having recurring issues down there, antibiotics will cure you but boric acid supps are an option too. My first (and last male gyno) reccomended some jelly stuff the first time my pH got thrown off from the ring. It didnt really work for me. The borics worked temporarily and the antibiotics re-regulated my system and "cured" me.
I really don't reccomend hormonal birth control to anyone and if you take plan b, be responsible with it. Just thought I'd share because it's ridiculous just how society tries to keep women in the dark of or ashamed of our bodies. Be safe , dont douche or use anything but water down there, and youll stay fresh. The only thing that has ever thrown off my pH has been hormonal contraceptives. Use a condom or getting something that isn't hormonal.
