Glen Payne, George Younce, Roger Bennett, Rusty Goodman, Sam Goodman, Howard Goodman, Vestal Goodman, Brock Speer, Dad and Mom Speer, Jake Hess, Jim "Big Chief" Wetherington, Hovie Lister, Doy Ott, Rosie Rosell, Denver Crumpler, Rex Nelon, Jim Hamill, Eldridge Fox, J. D. Sumner, James Blackwood, RW Blackwood, Bill Liles, Kenny Hinson & now in recent years Anthony Burger, Danny Gaither & Tony Greene. So many of the legends who made Southern Gospel music so memorable. Thank God for their legacy!
Earnhardt3Maniac Its always disappointing to me when people talk about some of these groups and don't know where they came from. Cathedrals would not have existed if not for Earl Weatherford. Glen and George both came through the Weatherfords at different times. That makes Legacy 5 and EHSS grand kids to Earl Weatherford.
What a legacy Roger, George and Glen have left. as a teenager, it is sad to see so many of my generation losing sight of this legacy and untimately God and the Bible in general. It is so evident to see the end times are among us. May god help the few of us that are left to continue to carry out this legacy.
This song makes me cry remembering my wife Novie who passed away eight months ago who lived a life consecrated to the Lord. She is my Hero of the Faith.
+Gerson Dumpasan May God bless you and confort you,I am sorry for your loss, but do not worry your wife is at peace now and you will see her again I assure you that,a hug for you.
Thank You Roger Bennett, very touching. I loved the Cathedrals and what they stood for. God Bless You, I will be fowing Legacy Five since I know what you really about, H. Phillips
Think about all the gospel legends that have already gone on, but also think about all the beautiful music that they are making in heaven each and every day..Man!!!! amazing.
No, not everyone is a hero of the faith. Some don't finish well. Glen Payne lived for the Lord and served him to the end. That takes a level of courage and commitment that to many lack.
This is such a beautiful song. It brings tears to my eyes each time I hear it. These great Heroes of the Faith will be dearly missed. Heroes such as Glen, George, Roger, Anthony Burger, JD Sumner, Jake Hess...all these men are now singing for the Lord Himself and we will be there to sing along soon!
What a legacy George, Glen, and Roger have left. It's still hard to believe they are all gone. The 1st image of the hero list is from a Gaither video shows George, Glen, JD, Jake and Rex. So many of the patriarchs of Southern Gospel are gone now. Watching Bill Gaither's older videos shows a legend that has gone home in almost every scene.
@jameskifire I don't know about that, but this is the Tony Greene who was the brother of Kim Hopper and sang with his wife Taranda in the group "The Greenes". He sadly passed away a few months ago.
This video rips my heart apart. I had the honor of meeting Roger and Glen in Nashville along with many now departed Legends of the Faith. Gospel music will never be the same. What an entrance Roger and Glen must have made. I can just picture the Father standing next to a Divine Piano waiting on Roger to take the bench and a mike waiting for Glen!
I love this song for all my heroes of the faith it is sad for all my heroes are gone to be with the lord i think back to yester years when i first started to listen to the guy sing
Yes, I am just as anxious as anyone to escape this world and go home to paradise; but what about our lost love ones. Jesus is coming soon. This scares me; for there are so many deceived. There are so many lost, who don't even know that they are lost. There are so many going to destruction; so many on their way to hell unless they repent and accept Jesus as their Lord and savior; but they don't even know that they sin, that they fall short of God's glory. (see John 3:16)

I cry every time I watch the video these were the great ones
I hope Heaven is a continuous concert with all these people.

Awsome Song Very True We Need More Like That
I am almost always Christian Rock and newer styles, but I heard this song today on the way from Church and fell in love with this song.
True gospel music is stuff like this. Christian rock is nothing but pleasing your flesh. It’s blasphemous to our Lord.
@@ColeKissell Amen
all of us are heroes of the faith...

The Cathedrals and Legacy Five...two of my favorite groups
😊
remindes me of the late great Sherman Cook my hero of my faith
See you in heaven! Looking forward to singing about/praising the Lord with all of you as we sit at the feet of Jesus. Love the joke at 5:15 :-D

Roger did such a great job with this song, the lyrics, music and singing it. Glen and George were both wonderful men.
Very touching. Thank you. Great audio as well as message and the bonus of memorable pictures

And now Roger is one of those heroes of which he sings

What a great tribute to one of the best by one of the best.My heart is heavy by them being gone. Two great soldiers of the cross.
