I had no clue this group was a thing. What a power move - Miyavi, Gackt, Suigizo, & Yoshiki together on one stage? Whoever organized the event didn't have to go that hard, but they did :,) To bad this was a one-time thing. It would have been nice if they did at least one or two albums like Trent Reznor did with How To Destroy Angels.
It would have been so awesome to have more music, 4 very distinct personalities and distinct talents, 4 alpha as far as being top in their fields. Maybe just never meant to be due to their various projects.
Ju-ken was on bass. Miyavi was on guitar. I bet Miyavi could have played bass no problem though. I wonder why they had 2 guitars. Their songs didn't seem that complex.

Finally hearing this version, I think the X Japan version is way better. Probably just because this is the first version most people heard they like it better. Or people who hate anything new by X.
They could've conquered the world at that time when visual kei was hot in japan, and beginning to be in the states. But they just stopped. This group had a lot of power back then. They should've kept going. I believe they would've changed how everyone listens to music today. Now I feel that visual kei is dying, and it's too late for this revolution to take off. I wonder why they stopped. They say they were too busy, but I don't believe that.

@777Dubliner Back in the Last Moon tour, Gackt did a nico live with Yoshiki. From that, it seems pretty clear that everyone is willing to drop whateve they're doing to do SKIN, but it's all in Yoshiki's hands. He did nothing worthwhile with X after all these years. He can't even release a studio album that's done for almost 10 years. I can only think he's lazy. If they just recorded a studio album and went on a single tour, that'd be more than enough for me.
At the hight of vk both Gackt and Miyavi were in their own bands and then solo'd....S.K.I.N made a big thing about revealing their members, esp. Miyavi being the last one. Never really understood the purpose, aside from creating a superband but they were all very established and busy on their own...Never actually thought it was going to be a permanent band arrangement

GACKT曰く、YOSHIKI次第でいつでも動くとのことで、S.K.I.Nが活動スタートしてまもなくX JAPANの再結成が決まったため、YOSHIKIの居場所がまたできたんだから見守ろうよとGACKTはMIYAVIと話す。S.K.I.NからXにSUGIZOが加入。現在X JAPAN命のYOSHIKIは、S.K.I.Nを再開しようという余裕はないんだろう。
コロナが明けたとしたら、景気づけに思いっきりS.K.I.Nで暴れて欲しい。
活動再開したら日本では敵なしの最強のロックバンドだよ。

I prefer X Japan version aswell. They did this at Wembley in March and it was an awesome performance.
This didn't mesh with Toshi's voice at all. So much better with gackt deeper voice and vibrato.
