Started writing to prisoners a few months ago! Unfortunately most facilities don't allow colored paper or glitter ink, stickers and all that nice stuff. So white paper and blue ink it is! Nevertheless it's a very rewarding experience and I enjoy it a lot. :)
In my opinion, everyone should learn how to write and send a letter correctly in school, it's an essential skill and can even be very touching for them to recieve a letter, great video btw!
Jetpens: Thank you so very much for publishing this tutorial. Many young people dont have a clue as to how to write a letter let alone all the beautiful stationery that Jetpens offer. I've watched the video 3 times already....getting ready to place an order.
I have been crafting my own envelopes out of pictures printed out on cardstock for my 4-year old niece. The one I just sent out had a family of golden lion tamarins, and the letter had fun facts about them and plenty of pictures. I also sent her some coloring pages. Her parents have been having a great time reading the letters to her, and she has been really excited to check the mailbox. I think I definitely in the running for best aunt, at least in her book.
Yep. I remember school lessons (and lessons from Mom) on how to compose and write letters; yes, there is an art to them. I frequently disagreed with Mom on how often they should be sent ;-) but, in the hindsight of several decades, I reckon she was right.
I used to have pen pals all around the world when I was a teenager, there was this organization that would set you up with someone interested in having a friend in your country and it was so much fun... it was so exciting to get from school and find an envelope on my desk, I really miss those days. I specially miss one of those pals, our friendship lasted for 20 years, we started asking about school and the last conversations were about her babies and my job. Wish I could get in touch with her again...
I wrote quite a few letters at the beginning of quarantine but never finished the list I started for myself. Maybe this will inspire me to write to the few people I have left.
I love writing letters and have my letters in baggies in totes to preserve them. I used to have pen pals around the world and it was neat to receive letters from them.
Writing letters are a form of art, they are beautiful. Even better is receive a letter. This love of letters that I have started with the movie Pride and Prejudice haha.. Thank you for this video 💕🌻🌿
In the UK we were taught to write our address in the top right hand corner of the actual letter. Then if the envelope got damaged you still have the address to reply to.
JetPens - these two things are completely off subject, but I found them interesting and comment/compliment worthy: 1. The progress bar at the bottom of your video is now segmented to show the different subjects in your videos. I haven't seen that (noticed it anyway) in any other videos. Helpful AND Nice!! 2. I really like that small candle holder in the wax seal segment. You guys have some nice stuff! Well done! JetDo continues to improve your (already great) content. :)
Love the midori letter sets. They’re really cute. But a word of warning- the envelopes don’t have their own adhesive. You’ll need a glue stick or washi tape to secure the flap.
Jet Pens Team, i'm so sad you don't have any store to Canada because you have everythings i need to please myself and more, you are my favorite online-store to order my pens & supplies but with the covid 19 is not a cup of tea to buy from other country and the shipping is very expensive but every time i watch one of your video, i wan't all of the pens you have use LOL! I'm obsessed by Pens all kind and you have all of these so Thank You for this great video and hope that will gave the boost to peoples right letters insthead of using their phone!
It amuses me that the current generation needs to be introduced to the concept of snail mail letters, but I think your video is well done. Since getting interested in fountain pens, I’ve experienced a renewed interest in snail mail and will be checking out your stationery offerings. Always thought that as a lefty fountain pens weren’t an option, but I’m glad to discover I was wrong! I just need to be a little more careful than my right handed brethren.
My question is, what are some good sturdy envelope options? I've tried many envelopes but can't seem to find good sturdy ones. I thought I nailed it with the last ones I purchased, but they're the flimsiest ones yet :')
I’ve seen books to record what books I’ve read, who I’ve entertained, travel notes, etc. What I’d love to have is a book to keep track of letters I’ve sent. Ideally it would have a pretty faux leather cover with “Correspondence Tracker” written in elegant cursive on front. It would lay flat when open for easy access. The pages would be ruled with column headings that say, Date Sent, To, and Description. There could be an address section in back for friends & family I write to often. As a bonus, it would have a card showing examples of pretty penmanship tucked inside a front flap for easy reference, and some type of pen holder for an average size ball point pen. It might even have an elastic closer. Do you know if any such book exists? If so, will you please add a link to it in your description box? Thanks ever so!
Love the expression in the envelopes and making them personable! But... the address should always be written in clear, legible font. Otherwise the postal worker may struggle reading your hand writing and won't be able to deliver the mail (or return it!). My parents taught me to write the address in capital letters with a printed styling so each character is distinct.
I couldn’t find any pilot letter pad and matching envelopes using the link in the description box. It took me to the jet pen website with lots of other products🤷🏻♀️
I recommend global pen friends (a website that helps you find penpals) but a lot of people use instagram, Twitter, and amino. If you search for pen pal guides on TH-cam, they usually show a lot of options. You can also connect with people through ‘penpal with me’ videos. Hope this helps!
Writing letters is also a great way to express yourself to your elected officials! It's a great time to write cute letters to our city councilmembers asking them to defund the police, reduce the prison/jail population, or whatever issues are important to you. It's more fun than sending emails or making calls (though those are good too).
You seriously explain that a letter has greeting words, a body part and closing words and how to adress the envelope properly? Is this a video for a kindergarten or are there earnestly people out there who doesn't know such things?
We've been dipping into our stationery stash and writing a lot more letters recently! How about you?

Hi, can you tell me what is the brown bag shown at the end?
I wanted to take up the hobby of penpaling but so hard to find a physical pen pals sigh.
In my opinion, everyone should learn how to write and send a letter correctly in school, it's an essential skill and can even be very touching for them to recieve a letter, great video btw!
It’s not really essential anymore lol

It should be an optional class imo. Like an elective or something for people who are interested but not required.
@@arandomuser9459 good point! But tbh sign language should be included in a curriculum XD
Evelyn Rivera Garcia
Yes that I absolutely agree with. It should be taught in English around like 13/14 yrs old imo.

I remember this was taught in school years ago. There is an art to writing letters, the emancipation it brings to both sender and receiver

This was taught in schools??

Jen Cortez is correct in her comment about an hour before mine: "proper" letter writing used to be taught in school and at home.
"if you want to send snail mail, but don't want to write a whole page of text" - my letters are at least 6 pages, most of the time 10-20 pages ^^
Bianca Mae Covers lmaoo same
How? I am so bad at conversations 😭 Eveything always ends quickly & awkwardly
I’m looking for a pen pal if anyone is interested please msg me or Instagram @sindu
@Bianca Mae I'm looking for a snail mail friend and would like your long letters. Just let me know if you have free space for that.
Now I just need to know who I can send letters to…
Pheonixtail Dragonlore hahah yes
Check out Postcrossing!
globalpenfriends.com is good to find penpals

general note to anyone ordering international brands- that's standard for japanese envelopes.

Nothing better than a pan dulce from the panadero in his triciclo at the afternoon ☕🥐
This is the best jet pens video ever .

I mean we generally just send texts or emails so it’s understandable
Definitely understandable, but still amusing to someone who was born long before the digital age. 😉
Why did I think it was gonna be a tutorial on how to write a letter but literal, like showing me how to write the letter A or something 💀😭😂
Just got my first fountain pen as a graduation gift
Super excited
The video I was waiting for

i find kraft paper envelopes work best!
You could make ur own with card stock! Just search up how to make an origami envelope. Mine is the thickest envelope I’ve had.
Cool video! Thanks soo much for your help ❤️😊
I need to mail some postcards this weekend!
Finally this video came! (Not being rude’or any thing) now i can write a letter for my crush
Lol nice
Same
And so
Keep calm
& wait for

On the letter where should I write my City and State? Before the date on the upper right corner?
can u do a video on decorating letters loved the video
Thank you
can u please make a video on Stillman and Bern sketchbooks
It's just so weird to me that some people DON'T know how to write a basic letter. I mean, it's not that difficult. Is it, lol?
It’s not difficult at all. This video didn’t need to teach it. How different is writing a letter from an email.
K Lu I remember being taught that you had to place the addresses in a particular place
great for writing to prisoners who like bullet journaling
😂😂😂
I love using wax seals!
And it right on time because I am going to send a letter to my brother in canada
wow new video too good

Hi there! Unfortunately since this video was posted three years ago, the Pilot Letter Pad and Envelopes have been discontinued by the manufacturer.
I love snail mail but fear real snails
You can use square envelopes in the US, but they charge extra postage because they have to be processed by hand. Truly ridiculous.

*for one second i thought the name on the letter was 'alan walker'*
😮 so true lol
Does JetPens sell the mail scale?
No we don't unfortunately!
(Raises hand) I dont have a pen pal how does one obtain such?
i feel that, i want a penpal too
